Didn't really know what to think when this landed on my doorstep, as they are definately trying on 'The Darkness' thing with the image and definately have their tongue firmly in the old cheek aswell. Music wise, this is megatastic Scandi rock at it's finest, and definately one of the better releases of the year so far. I think the band is made up of members of Sha-Boom, Dream Police and a couple of others, so this should give you a clue where they are coming from. Excellent.

One of the year's best releases and one of the most 80's sounding melodic hard rock CDs I've heard for ages, but done very well. 'The Best Song In The World' is not that, but an excellent song with an outstanding pre-chorus. 'Crazy Things' is an awesome melodic rocker - amazing, massive hook, 'Out Of Time' is wonderful, 'Hard To Be A Rock'n'Roller' is melodic hard rock perfection, 'Bless The Night' is possibly my fave - a stellar melodc rocker and 'No More Living On Lies' is scandi heaven.

From: M. Allen Date: September 20, 2004 at 12:57
A perfect throwback to that 80s hair-metal sound, this one will blast from your speakers & pin you to the couch with hooks big enough to hang Moby Dick from, plus over-the-top, shout-it-out choruses with lots of loud backing vocals. The band serves up every hair-metal cliche known to man, but does so with a great sense of style & tons of fun-lovin' energy. Drive around with the car windows down and Wig Wam cranked up and treat your neighbors to one of the best new releases of the year.

Like some bizarre mix of Dalton and Pretty Boy Floyd, Wig Wam play Scandi melodic rock with more than a strong steer towards glam in the somewhat cheesy lyrical content. It's good though, very good in parts (ballad 'Out of Time' is close to Treat's 'Best of Me', and generally the first half is excellent) but the standard isn't always that high ('A Long Way' 'Car-Lyle' are awful, and the cover of Mel C's 'I Turn To You' is an odd choice), but this is still highly recommended. 8.5/10.

From: John Date: November 15, 2004 at 16:50
I bought a sh!t ton of music this year and this is the release I always wind up going back to. If you're not singing along to the chorus of 'Crazy Things', have your hearing checked or sell your cd collection.

From: Paul Sixx Date: November 16, 2004 at 12:04

Es un grupo que suena ochentero pero muy moderno. El tío canta muy bien. El grupo es ideal para ser un boom en ventas y levantar el Hard Rock de nuevo. Este grupo con mucha ayuda puede pegar muy muy fuerte. 9/10

To update my previous comment,This has just been re-issued with the new title 'Hard To Be A Rock 'n Roller...In Kiev' with the bonus of the Eurovision Track 'In My Dreams' and 'The Drop' + a video. Please, please don't let the Eurovision put you off this band, as this is definately the best Scandie album to be released in donkeys years. The new version is even better with the addition of the new tracks. Scandie Melodic Rock at it's finest.

Wow, great performance this evening at the Eurovision song contest semifinal! And they are among the ten groups to reach the final! Congratulations guys! I just loved when Aage Steen shouted out loud ROCK N' ROLL in the end! It's great to see a hard rock band in this snobbish contest! They really started a revolution on stage this evening! Great song, great performance! In My Dreams is already a rock n' roll classic! We all should be proud of what these guys achieved today!

From: howe Date: May 19, 2005 at 17:20
... Well, and this album is awesome! One of the best from 2004. Tracks 3, 4, 7, 9 and 13 are highlights here. Tell Me Where To Go is simply my favorite ballad from 2004; a perfect song! These guys rock!!! 10/10

From: rene Date: May 21, 2005 at 11:28
I realy hope that today they are going to win the eurosong festival. That will be very important for our music. Many bands will sell more if they win because 70.000.000 people are going to watch the show. For shore a couple of 1000 will start looking on the net for other bands that sound similar like WIG WAM. Their will be more concerts, more hard rock bands, also on tv etc....IF THEY WIN, IT WILL BE GOOD FOR EVERYBODY.

From: Petrus Date: May 21, 2005 at 14:31
I've just saw them in the Song Contest. They kicked butt. The sound was there, the look was there. I think I'm gonna purchase the record when I can. The future of rock n' roll is bright!

From: manos Date: May 22, 2005 at 5:17
Very good performance by Wig Wam last night, but they only ended up to the 9th place! Greece was the winner and I am very happy for my country to have its first win in this contest but what needs to be said is that its time for a rock song to win the competition. Greece had a racy folk-pop song supported by fancy choreografy and seems that every year it is the same and same again. Wig Wam were a pure hard rock act with extreme early 80s glam look and a killer song but..

From: manos Date: May 22, 2005 at 5:25
...seems that they are not too contemporary or too update to win such a competition...Anyway, their presence was bold and not ordinary or stereotyped and I have to say that this band has a bright future, not only in the short market of melodic hard rock scene. They are capable of more. Maybe do something like the Darkness did. Let's get back to the 80s!

From: SCANDI Date: May 22, 2005 at 16:52
It was really a great performance last night. I think they sound like EUROPE with a strong glam factor (they looked like KISS). Well, here's my top 8 of last night's songs: 1) Sorry-- No WIG WAM but the wonderful title of CROATIA's Boris Novkovic 2) WIG WAM 3) The wonderful song of VANILLA NINJA --however, not quite similar to their first album 4) Our GRACIA with 'Run & hide' --wasn't it cool ?? 4) The exhausting ballad from MALTA's Chiara 5) Another breathtaking ballad from ISRAEL's S. Maymon..

From: SCANDI Date: May 22, 2005 at 16:56
(cont.) 6) UKRAINE's revolution song 7) SERBIA's NO NAME --very interesting!! However, that's only seven ... but the rest was somewhat unimpressiv to me

From: rene Date: May 29, 2005 at 15:55
Yeahhh, it was a great hard rock party at the eurosong festival. Shame they didnt win. People are not ready for retro hard rock, YET. We are the best, fuck the rest.

From: garden Date: July 19, 2006 at 16:06
