Well, not bad, not bad. Everything where Tommy Denander is been involved can't be that bad ! It's IMO also not a true great release. To be honest : don't know exactly what to think about this one. Sometimes a bit to westcoast-ish and too less AOR for my liking, but it's far from bad ! A difficult one. I think lovers of westcoast/AOR will dig this. I have a bit mixed feelings with this Scandi release !

From: Wotty Date: August 18, 2004 at 5:40
Very good though not great. But there is a Tommy Denander element to it that keeps this listener well happy. The Westcoast feel, though not all the way through, gives this enough appeal.

AORFreaky & TIM(2), what are your 3 best AOR releases in the last 3 years?? Just interested:-)

From: TIM (2) Date: August 18, 2004 at 7:17
Hey David, you should start up a thread on the message board so we could discuss? I'd go with Crystal Blue "Detour", Final Frontier "2nd Wave", Jim Jidhed "Full Circle" in no particular order. I guess the likes of Journey, Vertigo, Terry Brock would be very close. This Sayit is ok, Denander's stuff is a little samey and I've yet to hear him make a real killer album (although the first Radioactive was pretty close). The vocals on this are average at best... 7/10.

From: Wotty Date: August 18, 2004 at 8:42
Hey Tim[2].Your message to David concerning artists and albums cannot be argued with, but calling Tommy Denander [a little samey] is contentious.I like to call it a winning quality.

From: TIM (2) Date: August 18, 2004 at 8:58
Wotty, agree it's a winning quality. I really just meant that I could spot Denander's involvement on an album from 10 seconds into the CD (i.e, the Jim Jidhed). He has a distinctive sound and production style. I do love the Spin Gallery and Deacon Street and Radioactive, and this and Prisoner were decent enough, but he has a real killer AOR album in him somewhere...

From: Wotty Date: August 18, 2004 at 9:07
Hi Tim[2].That was a good response, and in truth there is no way I can honestly argue with you.I am just a big Tommy fan....

Recommended Westcoast cd, very tough to get hold of these days, so if you see one, bag it straight away. The only thing lacking on this one is the production, which is very lightweight, and those damn drum machines, otherwise a good release that was to lead the way for the next 2 excellent ones (Again & Louder). Great line up of musos on this one aswell, and with Tommy, Geir Ronning and Gaitsch on board, you can't really go wrong.

From: Wotty Date: August 18, 2004 at 14:01
Hey Jez,AGREED.....

Hey David : the three best pure AOR releases of the last three years ! Without a shadow of a doubt 1. Mecca : Mecca 2. Pride Of Lions : Pride Of Lions and on 3 I can't make a choice between 101 South with Roll Of The Dice and Harlan Cage with Temple Of Tears. O.K. : the likes of Ramos, Newman, Vertigo, Terry Brock, Hugo, Final Frontier, Dakota and Spin Gallery are also bloody great. And also stuff from Pulse, Pride, Double Cross and of course Drive She Said is worth of your attention !

From: AOR freaky Date: August 18, 2004 at 14:54
Oh dear : I forgot the magnificent, brilliant new Stan Bush : 'Shine' !!! Shame on me ! Highly RECOMMENDED !

Freaky, now thats what I call a CD selection...

From: AOR freaky Date: August 18, 2004 at 14:59
Thanks, Wotty ! You have taste, man ! And also Renegade from Canada and From The Inside are more than good AOR releases ! And look out for the new Pulse too : GREAT !

From: aorjocke Date: August 18, 2004 at 17:06
I agree with AOR freaky, all of the above named bands is very good. And when were talking about new bands I want you to keep your eyes open for a new good AOR act called "Bonrud" who will release there debut soon.Their style is pure AOR, in the same vein like "Outland - Different Worlds" but this is better produced and has a stronger lead singer...

From: AOR freaky Date: August 19, 2004 at 4:57
Just right aorjocke : Bonrud seems to be a new sensation ! Hope it is as good as said. But isn't it more straight ahead melodic hardrock (which is no bad thing) instead of pure AOR ? ! The samples I've heard were more in that vein, aorjocke. Personally, I hope it's more AOR-ish than I think now. Let's keep our fingers crossed !

From: aorjocke Date: August 19, 2004 at 5:54
Yes, you're right AOR freaky, it's more into Melodic Hardrock...yet it's not heavy at all. My mistake to say it's pure AOR...Now I have listen to it more closely, best songs to me is "Leap Of Faith" and "desperate Heart"...sometimes you get blind when you hear a record at the first time..haha!

From: AOR freaky Date: August 19, 2004 at 7:57
I totally agree, aorjocke ! I know, we all look out for a new sensation, don't we ? !
