Probably one of the best metal albums ever. All the groove, catchy hooks - absolutely brilliant!

From: T-BONE Date: August 10, 2001 at 15:13
Electric Boy's have that kool 60's groove mixed with 80's and 90's hard rock. Great driving music.

From: T-BONE Date: August 12, 2001 at 15:31
Just to add another line... The Electric Boys did another cd after this one called Freewheelin'. There's a great remake of Ram Jam's Black Betty on it. It's hard to find though.

From: Kim Date: April 20, 2002 at 17:40
True that this is a great album, But their best album ever has to be. Freewheelin`. Cant believe they didnt become ``HUGE``. Its on my alltime top 10.

From: TIM Date: May 7, 2002 at 12:50
T-BONE and Kim, I finally found Freewheelin' on Ebay. I'm going for the kill. I'm sure it'll be great.

From: Reno Date: May 7, 2002 at 16:11
The cover of Black Betty alone is worth the price. I got the song off the internet, but i'd also like to find an original cd.

From: TIM Date: May 18, 2002 at 21:35
I've got the song Black Betty off of Audiogalaxy, but the seller I purchased the Freewheelin' cd said that song isn't on there. Is it on a Japanese pressing or something?

From: Kim Date: May 19, 2002 at 12:48
TIM ´Did you get the Freewhelin`cd.??????????? Its DAMN GOOD, Its a classic, and the sound is incredible. One of my alltime 10 favorite albums.

From: TIM Date: May 19, 2002 at 14:43
Yeah, I won Freewheelin' off of Ebay. The seller is in the U.K. so it might take a while to reach me. I'd sure like to find what album the Black Betty song is on.

From: TIM Date: May 19, 2002 at 14:45
By the way, there's another copy on Ebay right now unless the seller withdrew it. I got mine for $20.

From: T-BONE Date: May 19, 2002 at 16:14
TIM, go to www.cddb.com and look up Electric Boys. It says that Black Betty in on 2 cd's of theirs, but they look like singles or EP's or something.

From: TIM Date: May 19, 2002 at 16:30
Thanks T-BONE.

From: tommygunn Date: June 27, 2002 at 17:35
I'm pretty sure that "Black Betty" was only included on the Swedish release. You might try going to Connie Bloom's site and e-mailing him. He's pretty good about responding. He's also in a new band SilverGinger5. "Black Leather Mojo" was one of my favorite CD's of last year, though it's hard to find. Lot's of big guitars, big hooks and great choruses.

From: Altay Date: August 21, 2002 at 18:20
there are 3 bonus tracks on the european release of the freewheelin' cd. one is "blackbetty" 2nd is "freewheelin'"and the other is some kinda woodoo

From: TIM Date: September 6, 2002 at 17:39
Have you heard these guys David?

From: David Date: September 6, 2002 at 20:11
Yeh, TIM i've got all their albums. Don't love'em, don't hate'em.

From: baris Date: September 8, 2002 at 15:06
Great music! A bit harder than the first album. If you insist on the first one, "Bed Of Roses" is for you. The instrumental "March Of The Spirits" is very lovely. I'm happy to have this record and I hope I'll be happier to hear "Freewheelin".

From: Baris Date: November 5, 2002 at 6:14
Finally got "Freewheelin". It's also successful but this album sounds the real style of the band together with Funk-O-Metal...

From: John Date: August 6, 2003 at 13:46
These guys are the kings of 'mood' type tunes. 'Mary In The Mystery World' is brilliant. 8.5/10.

From: altay Date: September 28, 2003 at 18:18
i still wonder where this "baris" dude from.

From: Metal Pete Date: January 2, 2004 at 13:46
Another great release from Electric Boys. When it came out, this stayed in my player a long time. Favs here include "Tear it Up", "Bad Motherfunker", "Tambourine"...all of it is good.

From: drummerfish Date: February 16, 2004 at 4:39
another band who should of recieved their recognition in the u.s. but didn't catch on.this cd is a prime example of groove, better than the first.the opening track is explosive.i seem them open for hardline and mr.big at the universal ampitheatre in l.a.great show.i found out the drummer played ludwig.my boss works for ludwig.had i known that before the gig i would of hit him up for passes!

From: drummerfish Date: February 16, 2004 at 4:43
p,s,-in the song "groovus maximus",does anyone know what "spank the plank" in the lyrics mean? hint:though it sounds obvious, its not what you think! if your a musician you may know it...

From: MJ (Marla) Date: April 3, 2004 at 0:19
WOW.....pulled this one out tonight. REALLY hits the spot!! Nice and heavy groove. "When Love Explodes" is GREAT!!! "Bad Motherfunker" too!!! "Tambourine"......eh...not so much. Really enjoying this!!!

From: Desslar Date: October 1, 2004 at 20:37
I thought the first album was a little dull, but I found this for a buck so I picked it up. Surprisingly, it's really good! Some great funky rockers, and awesome ballads, especially Bed of Roses.

From: jirki Date: January 26, 2005 at 11:24
shitty album!

From: Geoff Date: January 27, 2005 at 3:13
Got to agree with the blunt, but pretty true, IMO opinion above. I loke the ballad 'Dyin to be loved', but that's it. Pretty damn poor and boring album from what I heard.

From: Mark Date: February 5, 2005 at 19:16
I've had this album for years. In fact, it was sitting in the closet amongst a pile of junk for the last 5, at least until yesterday. I guess if I could stand the horrible "come over here baby" tongue in cheek lyrics on nearly every song this would be a little better. As it is, it is hard to even get through the first go around of the title track's chorus. So horrible, so cheesy. I love my 80s style hard rock but really can't stomach the crap on this album.

From: memole Date: August 2, 2005 at 5:35
The vocalist conny plays now in Hanoi Rocks...well done honey!

From: z4roxx Date: June 12, 2007 at 15:50
Explosive commercial bluesy hard rock with a funky touch!Years ago I was agree with most comments here but now I like a lot this one! It's very different than the last one but it's catchy and well played IMO.9/10!

From: juan carlos Date: August 2, 2007 at 0:35
Sí, Funky Bluesy HRock Sleazy bien fiestero, no está mal aunque no es mucha mi alegría sobre este disco. "Dying to Be Loved" es la única balada, la mejor de lejos y muy bien lograda. 7.5/10

From: DOUG Date: December 31, 2009 at 12:39
super!!!Hard and Funky!!8,5/10

From: metalmaniac777 Date: January 6, 2010 at 11:14
If you like your metal fried in funk, grilled in groove, and swathed in swagger, then you'll get a real charge out of this CD, which is at least on par with the debut and arguably even better. These boys didn't mess with their formula much on this album, sticking with the big guitars, big grooves, and big hooks that served them well the first time around, apparently disciples of the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" school of thought. The marriage of hard rock and funk is perfected on this release, which will have you scratching your head in bewilderment like a monkey picking lice that this band languished in relative obscurity while a similar-but-subpar group like Extreme galloped up the charts. This CD delivers on all fronts: maximum groove, maximum metal, maximum fun.

From: Delbert Date: January 6, 2010 at 12:02
Well....it is different, hence the split reaction among all the commenters. The band played blues influenced hard rock and the music took a more heavy yet funky turn on this album over their previous efforts. They had a hit on this release with the Beatles sounding "Mary In The Mystery World" track.

From: hair metal again Date: March 21, 2023 at 13:37
excellent release as expected from such a great act ,ELECTRIC BOYS offering a groovyhard rock sound with Conny being the mastermind behind it!great songs, massive production everything seems fine and cant really find anything missing!brilliant
