The rating is a bit low on this one. When I first bought this album, #s 2 and 10 were immediate favorites, but the rest of the album did little for me. However, further listening revealed it to be a funky, groove oriented almost-masterpiece (hence the name). The definitive "sleeper". Sometimes the ones that take a while to appreciate stay with you the longest. It's been over ten years, and I still listen to these guys.

From: Mike Date: October 24, 2001 at 3:13
YES!!!!!! Funk and Hard Rock in a perfect combination. It rocks and it grooves.

From: Milla Date: October 24, 2001 at 3:16
This record was relesed as a LP wansaponatime. Sadly some of the best songs on the LP was taken away when it became a CD and was relesed on the european market. Sad.

From: koogles Date: January 1, 2002 at 13:29
For fans of Extreme and other funk-metal culprits. Very well produced but somehow falls just shy of classic.

From: Drag-in-Bones Date: April 2, 2002 at 10:38
Funk tinged HARD-ROCK,not the ordinary run-of-the-strip HARD-ROCK.A very good and motivating CD a must have for every GLAM collector!!!One of my fav's

From: Desslar Date: April 8, 2002 at 1:22
It's funky and a bit out of the ordinary, but not many really memorable songs (apart from the great single). Fun enough.

From: TIM Date: May 1, 2002 at 0:30
The rating is definately too low on this one. It's not a 10, but I'd give it an 8.5. Psychedelic Eyes is the one I enjoy most.

From: Altay Date: May 23, 2002 at 7:05
ý guess this is one of the interesting cd's that i've listened.cool sound.rags to riches(sounds like a "tora tora" song to me,they rocked!!)andif i had a car is shining ones for me.

From: Drag-in-Bones Date: June 4, 2002 at 23:49
Ready to take a Funk-O-Metal Carpet Ride? Well, Fasten your seat belts, cause the "Electric Boys" are here to take you on a little trip- a short-but-sweet excursion into psychedelia while touring the great land where molten metal meets far-out funk!!! Did I mention I dig this CD?

From: baris Date: September 8, 2002 at 14:46
SUPERRRRRR! IT'S REALLY FUNK AND %100 PSYCHEDELIC... yes. This album takes a special place in my life. I take great pleasure to listen to it. Every song is colourful, sweet and smoky. The word "SWEET PSYCHEDELIC" is totally for them. Unfortunately the band was ignored by many and seen as an ordinary new hard rock band. But for me it's far beyond than that. These Swedish guys know what they're doing. I happily welcome them.

From: vixen Date: September 10, 2002 at 12:23
PSYCHEDELIC BABYYYY.....YUK..DOUBLE YUK. I never thought a rock band could be this bad. These guys stink. Dont get me wrong i bought this album without listen to it first. I saw the video of All Lips 'n Hips and thought....wow good band. But it was a major disappointment when i actually got the album.....since that track was the only good one on there

From: Wolf Date: September 12, 2002 at 8:10
Vixen : Free your mind, your ass will follow...

From: Baris Date: September 13, 2002 at 12:31
VIXEN BABYYYY...I still insist on that "PSYCHEDELIC" but understand you also. OK, EB may be of a different type when compared with other hair-rockers. It may be confusing because there's a strange smoky softness in their sound here. But, again strangely, in fact they create a perfect sound which is FUNK and really enjoyable to hear. If this softness is the reason why you've so disliked, I offer you their next album which is harder enough but still "PSYCHEDELIC".....

From: Vixen Date: September 24, 2002 at 8:53
I've listen to the disk a couple more times and its not THAT bad. I take back the double yuk....and the yuk. But they're still not my cup o tea. And Wolf.....ive opened my mind but my ass didnt follow.....sorry LOL. Maybe im to much attached to the typical glam/hair rock sound.

From: David Date: January 27, 2003 at 9:25
Does anyone know what Conny Bloom's solo album's are like?

From: T-BONE Date: January 27, 2003 at 10:20
He also has a band called Silver Ginger 5

From: Gar Date: February 2, 2003 at 19:59
Not very Funk or Metal, but a good hard rock album nonetheless. "Cheek to Cheek" sounds an awful lot like the Chili Peppers' "Behind the Sun". I've read that Bob Rock really toned down the funkier aspects of the songs(like cutting some extended jams, for instance). However, its still a really good album, and the band sound just different enough not to be confused with other bands of the time.

From: ThunderDan Date: February 22, 2003 at 20:37
Cool sound from a cool band! I borrowed this one last night from a friend who had it on tape. Since the tape started at the beginning of Side 2, I listened to 'Rags to Riches' and liked it very much. I wound up immensely enjoying the rest of the album. The only song I don't like is 'Cheek to Cheek'. Other than that, what a great sound! Very different, it certainly has the 'Extreme:Pornograffiti' feel to it. I'm glad I came across this one.

From: RichieRocker Date: February 23, 2003 at 18:50
SWEET!!!!!!!! I'm glad you like it ThunderDan!! Im trying to procure a copy on cd since my cassette has withered away.

From: freddy de keyze Date: March 7, 2003 at 13:32
Koogles has it right again. Far from a classic, this funky stuff. Mother's Finest did it so much better, with more class and power (listen to 'Another Mother Further' and you will understand what I mean !

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: March 28, 2003 at 18:56
Doesn't the song 'All Lips n' Hips' sound kinda like 'Cherry Pie' from Warrant? I does to me...... Or is it the other way around?

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: March 28, 2003 at 18:57
"I does to me".... what the fuck???? IT DOES TO ME!....

From: Dean Date: June 1, 2003 at 13:52
Hey Jason-It's funny because back when Cherry Pie came out I remember when Dave Mustaine from Megadeth was going on for half a page about how Warrant ripped off the Electric Boys on that song. The first time time I heard Cherry Pie I thought it was a hostess commercial.

From: John Date: August 6, 2003 at 13:45
Psychelic Eyes is one of the greatest side 1 track 1 tunes ever. Amazing how much melody they cram into all that funk.

From: Scandinavia Date: September 25, 2003 at 15:05
Damn...Funky stuff has never been my style..."All Lips & Hips" is very good on the other hand....Cool video clip to the song too..

From: vandervelde Date: September 26, 2003 at 18:05
This is great rock'n'roll....little diffrent than majority of hardrock bands but i think has some strong points.....Psychedelic songs is the best song with great powerfull refrain....for this one song is worth to have a whole cd....

From: Metal Pete Date: January 2, 2004 at 13:41
'just shy of classic'? Excuse me but this IS a classic! Listen to 'Captain of My Soul', 'Into the Woods', 'Lips and Hips'! These guys were original and still rocked hard. I love this release

From: jarett r. Date: February 15, 2004 at 22:06
2 electric boys members and a hanoi rocks member were reportedly in a band called roadrats

From: jonte Date: July 24, 2004 at 7:19
Such memories to this one. And they are even better live! They always played songs that where not on the albums, like Party on your pussy & Cheescake funk. Conny is King!!!!!!

From: Sheila Date: September 16, 2004 at 9:49
This is one of my favorite CD's. Lips N Hips is a awesome, foot tappin, get you moving out of your seat song! This CD goes with me everywhere...............

From: Geoff Date: September 19, 2004 at 0:18
This album flew right past me. Granted, I was playing a game of frisbee with it and my mate threw it a bit too fast so it sailed on by. But this was after I'd played it in my CD player and the songs had flown right past me without making any impact at all. I'm not a funk fan so the CD was doomed from the start in my ears anyway, but either way I just don't dig the songs on this CD at all.

From: Nick C Date: November 18, 2004 at 17:08
I have the original Swedish version of this with a different tracklisting it contains - Funk o Metal Carpet Ride, Party Up, Get Nasty, Hallelujia I'm on Fire and Freaky Funksters....It doesn't have tracks 3,4,5,6, & 10 listed here but it does have the rest. It's a pretty good CD and gets played every so often....I remember there were also two videos out for Electricfied one was really kinda low budget and weird! Up to the loft where me old vids are in a box methinks!

From: Metalhead66 Date: December 23, 2004 at 12:53
Brilliant,Funking Great... these guys rock Harder with more Sizzle and Groove than the shitty Peppers ever COULD.10/10 See it,Buy it, Jam it,Funk it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From: PeterS Date: April 7, 2005 at 14:35
Never did understand why they re-released what was a brilliant album and made it meerly a decent album. I far prefer the original vinyl version.

From: christian Date: May 3, 2006 at 11:27
i give 7/10 because this album is poor.

From: Dr_Funk Date: March 22, 2007 at 23:16
I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this album - this band!! Well, actually, yes I can. I LOVE funk. My last name is Funk, my nickname is Dr. Funk, my XboxLive name is KarpetRydOFunk, which derives from this album. When I(a wave of shame blows over me) downloaded this album, I was expecting to hear something in the vein of Extreme's: Pornograffitti, which I adore! What I did here was something a little less metal, but a lot more funk! Don't get me wrong, this album rocks, but it's (cont')

From: Dr_Funk Date: March 22, 2007 at 23:33
(Cont') not as heavy and guitar oriented like Extreme II is with the amzing Nuno!! What you get instead is funk in your face, with hard rock rounding off the edges. The tracks Captain Of My Soul, Rags To Riches, Cheek To Cheek, Electrified, and Into The Woods are standouts for me, but all in all there is not one track I'll skip because I just get sucked into each song! I higly recommend this album, and give it 9.5(What? It's bliss but not the absolute best). I have not heard the European (con't)

From: Dr_Funk Date: March 22, 2007 at 23:38
(Cont') version, nor have I the other releases, but I definately will upgrade to the real deal soon. One question: is the Euro version worth it too? Anways, I rambled on too long, but once again, sex on a cd, 9.5!! Nolan Dr. Funk

From: z4roxx Date: June 13, 2007 at 12:04
That's incredible but this band is the best discovery in the last days even if I do have all 3 cds'since a long time....It's the rightest title to describe well this release but for me is their worst even if the first 2 songs are awesome!7/10!

From: hernanHRM/AOR Date: October 28, 2007 at 14:37
solo queda por salvar de este trabajo "Psychedelic Eyes" uhmmm lo unico rescatable..

From: metalmaniac777 Date: January 6, 2010 at 9:37
I typically despise funk-metal hybrids like Rosie O'Donnell despises Weight Watchers, but crank my ass with a crowbar if this doesn't get my juices flowing like sticking my finger in an electrical socket. These boys never let the fun-fueled funk interfere with the catchy hard rock, serving up big grooves and big hooks with equal aplomb. Sure, the album title says it all: this is funkified metal, and if that's not your typical cup of tea, you may very well be as unimpressed as a veteran porn queen staring at a three-inch dick. But every hard rock fan should at least give it a try (the CD, that is, not the dick); you may find yourself enjoying the ride more than you ever imagined.

From: Delbert Date: January 6, 2010 at 12:10
Once again, the comment crowd is fully divided on this one. Love it or hate it, it's different! As a bit of trivia, They got themselves a hit with the single "All lips n´ hips", with party vocals by some members from TREAT, and the funky ELECTRIFIED, both of Sweden. This was produced by Rob Rock of all people along with the ELECTRIC BOYS!!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: January 10, 2011 at 21:22
Wow really loved this!!! it is like a hybrid of Faith No More & Extreme....bought it many years ago but never payed the attention it needed ...now i can recommend this eyes closed...."Psychedelic Eyes" what a killer starter along with "All Lips 'N' Hips" the best ones of the album IMHO,also "Captain Of My Soul" & "Rags To Riches" are pretty wild too...90/100 get it!!!

From: hair metal again Date: September 20, 2021 at 7:37
very good debut for ELECTRIC BOYS offering an explosive funky hard rock sound with a massive production, excellent musicianship and some big songs like "all lipsn hips",'electrified","psychedelic eyes" and "cheek to cheek"!great start for a great band that still rocks around
