Those of you who liked Kee from the: Easy Action, Red Fun, Europe days should be very careful here. Very powerful hard rock here, with strong modern influences, and his guitar work is very different from anything previous. Only "Hey Romeo" is remotely AOR, and has those "Final Countdown"/"Superstitious" keyboard flurries in the chorus, the rest is powerhouse modern rock which gets a little samey if you play the entire album. Not bad, but far from essential. 6/10.

From: AOR freaky Date: August 2, 2004 at 8:10
Very, very poor third rate modern rock from Kee ! One of the worst releases EVER on the mighty Frontiers label ! AVOID !!!

From: Zč Rocks Date: August 3, 2004 at 7:11
Sorry, I don't agree with you. If it's true that this is not the record one might expect from Kee, anyway it's a solid piece of rock, maybe a little too dark and with a modern edge, but worth to be owned in a serious rockteca. I do like it!

From: Great Dane Date: August 5, 2004 at 16:06
Its brilliant. 8,5/10

From: AOR freaky Date: August 5, 2004 at 16:28
Think the word 'brilliant' has a special meaning to you, not Great Dane ? ! For this MODERN record the brilliant score of 0/10 !!!

From: mfmc Date: August 5, 2004 at 19:43
muy buena mejora de kee desde su primer album. es un album sólido con buenas canciones, desgarradores coros y líneas vocales sobre todo en enemies, blood, epic, hey romeo, ride on. 9/10

From: Great Dane Date: August 9, 2004 at 20:05
The word Brilliant means Brilliant. Freaky I think the word modern scares you, and I think you should start realizing that its 2004.

From: Great Dane Date: August 9, 2004 at 20:10
Listen to how he pays his guitar. Thats Brilliant. But the music is ''dangerously modern'' Ha ha thats brilliant too.

From: T-Bone Date: August 9, 2004 at 20:49
I liked Kee's sound on most of the Europe cd's. He's a great guitar player. I think I'll have to check this one out. Thanks Dane!

From: Great Dane Date: August 9, 2004 at 21:37
T, but beware, it might sound ''modern''' but then again, how modern can it get with bass/drums and guitar.

From: TIM (2) Date: August 10, 2004 at 4:42
I can't say I'm bothered if something sounds a little modern or not, I just cared that the standard of songwriting wasn't that special. His guitar sound has none of that melodic-edge from the Europe days and for me this could've been about anyone playing the music. Considering I bought this purely based on having Kee's name attached, I was a little disappointed. Modern or not.

From: AOR freaky Date: August 10, 2004 at 7:08
Great Dane : good is good and bad is bad, if it is 1960 or 2004 my friend ! And this is damn bad, worst release ever on Frontiers ! It's just alternative and has no connection with melodic things we all love, I hope ! If all releases in 2004 should be like this crap record, I'll pass on 'em all ! Lucky that there are still great releases ! Are you also waiting on a modern version of DFP or Saints And Sinners ? ! ME NOT ! Tell me why it's necessary to sound modern or alternative ? Money ? ! Ah!

From: Great Dane Date: August 10, 2004 at 17:27
Cool, f you think its bad. I dont. I have a kinda nice cd collection Check it www.hardrock1.webbyen.dk I stille have about 3-500 cd to list. I also love music from the 80's, but GODDAMN progress is necessary, even within the musicbusiness. DFP released a superb album in 1989. NOW 15 years later........do you expect them to sound like that.!!! Get real...

From: AOR freaky Date: August 10, 2004 at 18:09
YES , I DO ! Are you a real fan or not ? That's the question. Do you believe in something or not, Great Dane ? We live in a time where everything has to change ! Is that always better ? ! NO ! Is the world now a better place to live in than 20 years ago ? NO ! The question is : why change something if it is excellent ? ! Why change a car that's fantastic ? Why ? To make it better ? Yes, if it's possible ! But is the music now better than 20 years ago ? NO ! Then I say : you changers : get real

From: Great Dane Date: August 10, 2004 at 18:19
Yes Freak Im a real fan. Been so for 30 years. 20 years ago there were made some good music, but also some worthless crap. You forget one thing. Real artists doesnt make music to make YOU happy. Real artists develop. Enough good nusic were made in the 80's. Go and get that. If bands like Europe, Bon Jovi, Poison, MCrue and others made a cd today which sounded just like another release from the 80's. I think the whole world would laugh their asses off. I would.

From: Great Dane Date: August 10, 2004 at 18:21
Have you checked my cd list..? I think Im good for an opinion on the subject.

From: AOR freaky Date: August 10, 2004 at 18:26
I would not laugh at all, but praise them for their courage to do that ! Different point of view, Great Dane. And I'm listening to music over 38 years now. In fact : there is nothing new ! It's all done before and much better and you should know that, if you have a large collection ! What we get now is recycling, my friend and often badly done ! That's why I always will defend the real pure genres : AOR as it should sound, pomprock as it should sound, hardrock as it . . . you got the point ? !

Heavy Harmonies Volunteer
From: Blue Charvel Date: August 10, 2004 at 20:44
Geez Freddy, talk about recycling, how 'bout some new comments for a change?

From: AOR freaky Date: August 11, 2004 at 6:39
Same for you, Blue Charvel ! All you do here is attacking me ! You should read all comments and see that there are other AOR fans saying exactly the same as I do ! 'Leave this site if you hate AOR !'. If you don't like AOR, O.K., but leave us in peace, man ! And visit alternative or grunge sites, that's your stuff ! Don't spoil it here for us. I still have to read your first good review about a pure AOR record recently ! That tells it all. I'm sure you even don't know 'em ! Blink-eyed, who ? !

Try decaf dude.

From: Zč Rocks Date: August 11, 2004 at 12:53
Dear AOR freaky (or should I say Freddy?), please read the header of main page: "AOR, Hard Rock, and Melodic Metal Band Reference". Am I to add more?

From: AOR freaky Date: August 11, 2004 at 16:49
You may call me as you want, but I don't see melodic metal ! For me, no problem ! But this here is NOT MELODIC METAL ! It's not melodic at all, that's the problem, my friend !

Heavy Harmonies Volunteer
From: Blue Charvel Date: August 11, 2004 at 16:57
Poor Freddy, nobody feels your pain and understands the sacrifices you make just to make this site "pure" for all of us. I pray to the gods of AOR that someday you will be recognised for all that you have done. Know in your heart that I spend every minute of every day thanking the lord above for letting me bear witness to your grand struggle against all things impure. Pray thee not falter milord, in the battle at hand!

From: AOR freaky Date: August 11, 2004 at 17:11
Ha, finally you understand that I have a mission from the mighty Lord ! But I still have a lot of work to do here, certainly with sinners like you ! I'll pray for you every evening, before I go to bed, on my knees ! I pray the Lord OF AOR to forgive your sins and I wish HE could give you a better taste, but even HE's the LORD of AOR, I fear He will fail, because your hopeless, my friend. Don't worry, I'll keep praying for you and all other sinners here !

From: Blue Charvel Date: August 11, 2004 at 17:14
Well you know how it is, sinning is my business, and business is good... Without "evil" how can there be good? Yeah, come to think of it you should be thanking me for my very existence! Yeah, that's the ticket...

From: Ardian Date: August 17, 2004 at 23:28
I'm with AOR Freaky (Freddy!) on this one. Many people seem to like this one... I don't get it! No wonder why Kee isn't involved in Europe reunion.

From: HardRocker Date: September 1, 2004 at 21:30
This is not the best album that Kee could ever release. It has some good moments but after all is flat and a little boring in the end. I was expecting something better than this album... Only the die hard fans of Kee will like it a lot. Just an average rock (with modern edge) album.

From: Geoff Date: January 4, 2005 at 20:39
I see and understand that AOR Freaky went to town on this, but that is no surprise. A few things I'd like to add here. IMO this is better than anything John Norum released after 'Face the truth' and although there are some heavy / 'modern' verses some people here might not like, few could question the fact that Kee goes for a big melodic chorus in almost every one of these songs. I still would love to have seen him with the new Europe and think this is a very good melodic hard rock disc.

From: hair metal again Date: May 12, 2021 at 13:05
excellent release for KEE MARCELLO with fine songs and amazing guitar work!the sound is quite updated combining many different styles but the melodic lines are of the highest level and every solo is thrilling!imho this one is among the best of the new millenium and essential for hard rock fans
