An above average set here, heads above the majority of bland covers albums which has become the norm. At least DuBrow has put some thought and imagination into the track listing, with some familiar and not so tracks making the cut. DuBrow himself turns in a fine vocal effort, obviously enjoying the chance to sink his teeth into his favorite tunes. |

Let's be very short about this one : just one word : CRAP !!!! Rycheage, are you the same ? ! |
From: Rockhead | Date: June 24, 2004 at 11:02 |
Question: The people who slate these new releases, have they purchased these cd's, listened to them and then commented? or have they heard snippets or MP3's from websites to define their opinions? Or are they just slating them because of the artist etc? Freaky can you shed some light on this? I ask because generally the people slating are not (based upon other reviews here)fans of the artist anyway. So why would they buy product to hate it? |
From: AOR freaky | Date: June 25, 2004 at 8:24 |
Dear Rockhead : I always listen to a record before commenting it. I have a close relationship with my local CD-shop owner and I may listen to the records I want. I even may take 'em at home and if they don't please me, I may give 'em back ! Ideal, not ? ! Well, I've listened to this one too, and it's crap all the way. Let's face it : Kevin never was a gifted singer and this album full of covers is bad, so bad I can't find the words, like the Simmons record, also such a disaster ! |

Hey Freaky-Thanks for the breakdown!! YOu have a good deal there-"try before you buy".In truth I agree all the way reference DuBrow's voice-It is awful!!. My query is now answered!! |
From: Rycheage | Date: June 26, 2004 at 15:35 |
Freaky: I agree with you on the Simmons record. It sucks and he cna't carry a tune in a bucket, but DuBrow can indeed sing. Why he did an all-covers CD is beyond me, but IMO does not sound bad. I happen to like his voice quite well, thanks. Just because you do not, lay off me for thinking so. I have not gone on the bandwagon in crapping on you when you give your estimates of the CD's you review. You are entitled to it as am I. So lay off. |

My excuses, dear Rycheage ! But I know you as a man of good taste, and I can't see what's good about this release at all ! In 99% of the reviewed CD's, we have the same opinion. Not on this one. But my 'attack' on you was wrong ! Enjoy ! |

I waited long 4 weeks to get this one. I had to import this cause my country dont release this kind of music. I liked the album a lot, but i really preefered that Kevin released original music, as he released lots of cover tunes under Quiet Riot career. Speed King, Burn on the Flame, Razamanaz and Modern Times Rock and Roll are my favourite tracks on this one. |
From: T-Bone | Date: June 28, 2004 at 16:37 |
Never a gifted singer?!?!?!?! That must be why he had a few platinum albums and Quiet Riot lasted for 25 years. Just because this isn't overdubbed 20 times with keyboards, doesn't mean it's not good Freaky. This was supposed to be a fun album for him to tributize his favorite artists of the past. The production lacks a little, but it's still a solid 8/10 |

hello this is bob from wisconsin this is not the best cd i ever heard either it ok but its a cd that i can listen to once a year ok thanks bob |
From: love metal | Date: October 21, 2004 at 16:15 |
i'm a big quiet riot fan and myself i think kevin dubrow is a great singer but the songs he or whoever chose to put on this CD was really bad. his album title "in for the kill" must mean for his career, i know it's a cheap joke but i think it's funny. |
From: headbanger4life | Date: January 19, 2006 at 5:00 |
Man this was a big disappointment. All he does here is attempt to cover a bunch of songs and I didn't like even one of them. I wish he would have went for putting out some new material. I like Dubrow's stuff with Quiet Riot and I guess I'll just have to stick with that. |
