This solo album from Skagarak's lead singer Torben Schmidt contains many styles.Like the very nice heavy rock tune "Love On Sale",The terrific ballad "When I Hold You In My Arms", the beautiful blues inspired song "Spider's Web" and the super AOR song "Same Old Song, Same Old Story". Over all this is a good album, but more Heavy rock than AOR...

Agree with comments above, this is excellent but pretty different from Skagarack (isn't a million miles from their last album "Big Time" though). This is now very rare, but is high quality hard rock. The ballad "When I Hold you In my Arms" is almost worth the high price on it's own...

Ditto exactly what aorjocke said. Those are my favorite 4 songs on the album. I really like the way the keyboard and guitar melodies take turns leading on Love On Sale, and When I Hold You In My Arms is one of my all time favorite ballads. Overall it is a little different from Skagarack, but not much. It's like the difference between Bon Jovi's Destination Anywhere and his other albums - different, but still relitively the same.

'When I hold you on my arms' is an outstanding ballad and "Same old song, same old story' is a huge melodic gem. Elsewhere I like this soldi melodic hard rocking affair, but those two easily steal ths show for me. Almost on par with Skagarack, maybe not quite as good.

Great songs by far are the rockers: Good day to be living, Gave my soul to rock and roll, It aint the first, Turn on my badland and the semi rocker Cant you feel it Top song: Same old song, same old story. What a great chorus. The guitar solo is awesome. The tune just sticks in your head. Makes you just wanna sing a long ! Great solo effort by Torben. More Please !!!!!

I'm 'a bit on the side' with this album. That means I'm disappointed for all these reviews here telling me this is a abolutely high class typically scandi album. Especially when aorjoke said "Same old song.." is an AOR song I think he really made a joke In my opinion this album IS NOT varied in style. Instead of typically scandi MR we find here some kind of 'southern hardrock' all over again. The song that shines out surely is "When I hold you..".

Musically this reminds me more on GREAT KING RAT, MERZY or even on START FROM THE DARK (for the guitars) then on SKAGARACK (first two or three) or EUROPE at their prime time. Even though you hear some SKAGARACK sound here and there.. Especially on my other faves "Love for sale" & "It ain't the first time". Moreover, "I gave my soul.." is hot. "Sweet Lucy" is OK (maybe "Good day.." for its riffs & Turn on.." for it's chorus and solo, but I won't advise paying more than $25 for it. 8,2/10

Where is the big man from super scandi band Skagarack these days ?? Torben Schmidt is so talented. Great songwriter and cool voice. Love this album. "Good Day To Be Living, Gave My Soul To Rock N' Roll, It Ain't The First Time ,Can't You Feel It and Same Old Song, Same Old Story are melodic rock heaven songs for me. We need this guy back in the melodic rock scene!

Brilliant album by the lead singer of Skagarack with plenty of strong numbers..."Love On Sale" is an excellent opening track,it puts you "on track","Good Day To Be Living" rocks hard and of course is a fave,"When I Hold You In My Arms" is a precious ballad,"I Gave My Soul To Rock'N'Roll" has a really fantastic lyric, this one is an ode to us the rockers,"Turn On My Badland" is another personal fave,"Can't You Feel It" is a pretty cool song,"Same Old Song,Same Old Story" and of course the same old good AOR!,the one we love to death!..."Sweet Lucy" closes the album as a highlight...if u want good songs with a solid vocalist, then this Torben Schmidt solo effort will suit you fine......94/100
