Not real familiar with this album, yet. I have heard the song WHITE LIGHTNIN' and she still has that good 80s rock n roll sound. She is one of few that stayed true to her roots.

i do not have this album in my collection, but i remember from reviews that most of the tracks do have a pretty alternative sound...

This is not good at all. Lita Ford trying to be Courtney Love. A career killing move on par with such blunders as Warrant's Belly to Belly up, Dokken's Dysfunctional/Ultraphobic double-whammy-of-disgrace, Wildside's self-titled abomination and other landfill-worthy efforts by Scarecrow ("A Touch of Madness"), Danger Danger ("Dawn"), etc.

Dokken's 'Dysfunctional' was not a disgrace. BTW, 'Ultraphobic' was Warrant's blunder. Dokken's was 'Shadowlife'.

Not like her 80s stuff, but I disagree that it sucks. It's a turn toward blues-rock, with some of the best vocal and guitar work she's ever done. Comparisons to "alternative" and "Courtney Love" couldn't be more wrong. I don't listen to it much because I still prefer the "good ol' days," but as a musician I have to say that "Black" is some seriously credible work. It wasn't a "career killer" because by 1994 she had already lost her major-label record deal and metal was over with.

Her husband blew his brains out. I don't think he does much of anything anymore. As for Courtney-she has the lips for it!!

Obviously not even remotely close to the great album that was 'Dangerous curves', and this is a slightly darker side of Lita, but I dare say this is one of, if not her most consistent work yet. 'Where will I find my heart tonight' is a great track and although it misses the melodic gems of the last album, there's nothing wrong with this CD. Good hard rock. I don't do this often, but I do disagree with Koogles here. This was not a big departure from her early stuff and is still 100% Lita.

Once again people here mistake a more sombre toned record for "alternative". Please, go listen to some alternative music then listen to this, they are nothing alike. Yes, she did away with the more upbeat "hair metal" stylings due to the music climate at the time, but it certainly didnt pander to the alternative/grunge scene as it was far too melodic. This music might be by a woman, but it still has more balls than any grunge/alternative band ever had!

back then there was apressure by the music industry to turn the sound in a more grudgy alternative dark rock sound.we are all responsible for that.if we did ignore that sound maybe we still had new releases like the golden era of 86-92.nice album lita with some good songs and great vocals but this is not our sound
