Love it, "If you had a heart" and "Desperate heart" are fantastic

From: Dragonfly Date: December 13, 2001 at 7:48
Found this group's release in the bargin bin at my cd shop. Took a chance and WOW. A great release. Kind of a sound like Tykeyto or maybe alittle like Tesla.

From: TIM Date: May 12, 2002 at 23:37
This is a cheap disc. Pick it up. There are some good tunes here.

From: Pablo Date: May 29, 2002 at 1:33
bought it in 92. Been blown away by a great band, very soon disapeared, and the only one whi could actually compete in the same league as Tesla. Great Rock and roll!!!

From: nitrodoll Date: August 27, 2002 at 15:38
cool video for the song 'rain'.. nitrodoll1974@hotmail.com

From: Blazer Date: October 14, 2002 at 2:00
Did anyone know that Flame had released a earlier cd called 'Flame - Blaze' ?(Rockhill Records-RH76503) in 1989. With the same lineup.'Ride' and 'Lorelei',are really cool. These guys really did play great rock 'n' roll'!

From: TheRipper Date: November 7, 2002 at 12:51
Did anyone know anyone in this band or ever see them play live, as I am really wondering where they are from? They weren't from L.A. were they? Cool band, good CD.

From: koogles Date: November 14, 2002 at 9:13
Never quite connected with me. Quite simply, the songs aren't there. Maybe for a buck or two, you might want to pick it up, especially if you like Great White, Tesla or Tangier's second one.

From: steve Date: December 12, 2002 at 4:48

From: King James Date: April 24, 2003 at 1:04
Please people, don't bother with this one. I just picked it up today at a used CD place and was all excited to listen to it and then when I started to, yuck! Way bland metal. I'm embarrassed I paid $8.99 for it.

From: purrfect-kat Date: September 22, 2003 at 11:07
I think "Shelter You" and "Desperate Heart" are about the only 2 decent tunes on this cd.

From: Gar Date: November 8, 2003 at 3:44
Although there are some good songs on this nothing about the band really makes them stand out from the thousands of other hard rock bands from that era. Worth getting if you can find it cheap enough, but I really wouldn't go out of my way to get it.

From: Carmine Rose Date: January 13, 2004 at 15:52
Great news Flame fans, they're releasing a new album in August and as of right now it'll be called The Second Wave. Go to www.sleazeroxx.com for more information.

From: hardrocker Date: March 13, 2004 at 12:46
at first i couldnt find a person in the world who knew of this band finally i found this site, this cd is amazing. i like the songs rain, electro glide, and wild one, i also am wondering where they are from and if they play live anywhere

From: Sola Fide Date: April 2, 2004 at 8:24
These guys were great live. They ruled a club called Niles Hard Rock Station, but, that was along time ago. Phil had a really good voice and Billy always played great guitar with awesome tone.

From: J & S LOFARO Date: April 9, 2004 at 10:27
Sullivan is still one of the best vocalist out there...lots of soul!! Hey Sullivan! We've been out of touch since playing w/you at Niles years back. I'm still singing off and on with my guitar player, but it's just for fun now. Joe and I jam at home and with some of my bandmates. Talked to Billy recently - he's still in Texas. Anyhow, if you see this, drop me an email at lofaro63@sbcglobal.net. Would love to hear how things are going. Maybe a jam is in order?? Hope all is well. Sona

From: 1StepBeyond Date: April 21, 2004 at 13:20
Hey Ripper.... to answer your question above, I was lucky to see them live locally in the S.F. Bay Area. I think they were in L.A. for a time being during the production of this album relase as well as their work on the soundtrack for the movie "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead". But the Bay Area is Phil's stomping grounds. In fact the greenish building on the left of the CD cover artwork is a drawing of the infamous Niles Station in Fremont, CA where they would rock out live.

From: Big Papa K Date: June 26, 2004 at 12:56
Bought this one for a dollar. I would rather have the dollar back as this is one of the most boring bluesy hard rock albums I have heard. Nothing sticks out at all. 1/10

From: Chad Date: November 25, 2004 at 1:05
I quite enjoy this album. While it is nothing new or earth shaking, it is good melodic/80's Rock. The lead singer is way better than average, he can surely sing. The music is well written and has flair. Top cuts include: Electraglide, Blood on Blood, If you had a heart and Shelter you. While it is a bit bluesy at times, it is still a rock album. I recommend this one. You can get it cheap too, money well spent.

From: Geoff Date: February 22, 2005 at 19:52
This was the first CD I heard from this band, and it prevented me from hearing the debut for quite a while as I was so unimpressed with this. It's all very well to compare them to Great White here, but Great White did the bluesy rock well... this is just, IMO, crap. A completely forgettable disc and not a single track I enjoyed. As noted, it can be found very cheap but I'd not worry if you let is slide.

From: aMetalhead1966 Date: December 29, 2005 at 13:13
Never heard the first one,but this really suprised me!!The Cover had me thinkin of one thing and then I listened and Man I gotta say this kicks...Very Melodic...Good Songs....Great Playin!!!

From: Chad Date: December 30, 2005 at 0:21
This one continues to get spins in my cd player. Maybe not as bluesy as I aformentioned. This is just good old rock, not hard rock but AOR-tinged rock. Good stuff and recommended.

From: BIG-TIME Date: January 22, 2007 at 19:11
WOW you none believer's need to have a re-listen to this specially, tracks 2, 5, 10 put it on in the car or use surround sound trust me it kick's ass. I wouldn't say it was Great White coz I hate them, there is a bit of bluesy rock but I think it has trace's of Dokken defo on track 10. Geoff I value your opinion on a lot on CD's but listern to it again LOUD and dont compare it to anything else...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

From: juan carlos Date: June 29, 2007 at 22:55

From: rbrigade Date: February 19, 2009 at 19:45
Is this the same Billy Harvey that released the boring ''Moonlight theatre''?

From: poser forever Date: August 1, 2009 at 5:33
Simply a masterpiece. A wondwerfull slice of US melodic hard rock with great tracks like ''Don't Look Down'' , ''If You Had A Heart''. I don't get some negative reviews here , as these guys are way better than anything Frontiers released the last 10 years . Classy melodic hard rock!

From: Doug Date: August 3, 2009 at 17:58
Man, this CD is tough to find!

From: rbrigade Date: October 20, 2009 at 18:52
This is by no means a bad album. I like tracks 2,5,8,14 and the rest may be quite generic but it's well executed at least. Worthy buy if found cheap

From: metalmaniac777 Date: February 6, 2010 at 13:22
Look up the phrase "bland, boring, banal hard rock" in the dictionary (well, if the dictionary actually had phrases in it instead of just single words) and you'll probably see this band's picture next to it, as these guys practically define what dull, derivative drivel is all about, thanks to a couple of solid songs, a shitload of semi-shoddy filler, and some seriously bad duds. Better than having a red-hot branding iron slapped against your 'nads, but not by much.

From: Metalboy Date: October 3, 2011 at 2:01
Seems like once they got their "Deal" (you know it was a pittance) from the Giant label, they really toned down their original Hair Metal schtick demonstrated on their debut 'Blaze' album, which is far superior than this. If you like your Metal "Hairy" rather than "Melodic", go for 'Blaze', which is far superior than this overblown safer AOR-ish Melodic Rock outing. 'Blaze' ROCKS! This BORES! The album cover art is pretty trippin', however. p.s. Compare the tracks they dragged over from 'Blaze' and re-recorded on this to better understand why Glam/Hair Metal is far more fun than safer forms like Melodic Metal, of which this is a prime example. Wake up, people! It's time to ROCK and you'll do more to 'Blaze', not this. Compare these two albums as a case study on how to ruin a band. Pressure to get signed or tone it down once they were is what killed these guys. Case in point: the song , "Automatic", which appears on both. Listen to the 'Before' and 'After' to decide how you like your Me

From: Metalboy Date: October 3, 2011 at 2:29
Oops! Sorry about that... Take 2: Listen to the 'Before' of "Automatic" on 'Blaze' and compare that to the version on this release to hear how you prefer your METAL!

From: Doug Date: October 3, 2011 at 13:05
This album is impossible to find! It's been on my want list forever. Any suggestions?

From: MetalllianStallion Date: October 4, 2011 at 3:25
Doug, is this the Q & A section as you seem to post more questions than comments? For example on George Lynch Kill all Control (2011), as you might want to take your music searches and questions to the board. This cd is easier to find than sand at the beach. There are 34 copies as I type at Amazon.com starting at 24 cents. As the price indicates with it's drink coaster price it's not in high demand by collectors. Signed to Giant Records (joint venture between Warner Bros. Records and Irving Azoff) along with the much more talented Bangalore Choir,Valentine,Deep Purple. 'Don't Look down' which is also on the debut is the band's strongest track with this average band which should have been signed by a indie. Drop me a email through the HH message board and I will send you a rip of this one and the debut "Blaze" (1989) to try before you buy to see if it's worth your investment. http://www.amazon.com/Flame/dp/B000008FN2/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1317707557&sr=1-1-catcorr

From: Doug Date: January 6, 2015 at 11:52
Okay MetallianStallion, I finally picked up this CD. Hope you feel better now. "Rain" is the standout song for me on this one.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: January 6, 2015 at 17:02
This disc makes Tangier's 'Stranded" album sound positively mind-blowing. Zzzzzzzz!

From: 123charpenay Date: November 28, 2021 at 20:39
very average.a second zone s band.
