They have a shimmering quality in their music, endearing vocal harmonies, and a simplistic yet edgy guitar tone. Whatever label you want to put on these guys, one thing sticks.. they are sooo melodic, and despite being of a modern rock persuasion, they easily find a home here. |

despite not being from N.Carolina, i still find this band to be very high in depth and a definite ear grabber...they need 1 thing and thats to be reconized.....i'd love to see them live...they are definitly melodic....a good idea for them would be to have a bunch of free shows for small audiences in states across USA....Rhode island being one of them.... every summer we have a free summer concert series sponsered by WBRU....and Athenaeum would be a great contrabution to the stage......later..... |

These guys were always playing Amos' in Charlotte when I was living there. I never did get to see them....which is a shame as I love their stuff. You can't fault their work ethic, though....they put the work in to the touring schedule, I just think that the over saturation of this kind of stuff on US radio meant they could never get a foothold. I hope they are still a going concern. |

Now this one has me asking questions. I strongly agree that bands like this should be on this site- modern, but undoubtedly still strong on melody and good rock songs. I only wonder why the likes of similar bands like Familiar 48, Pay the Girl, Bliss 66 etc. are not featured here? I'm easy, not on anyone's case but I think there are a lot of new melodic hard rock discs being overlooked. As for this, this is pretty cool. Also a bit like 3rd Degree. Mellow, moody and catchy in places, but patchy. |
