In 1994, hair-metal had been blasted off the charts by Cobain and other suicidal self-loathers of his ilk. But in the midst of grunge's ascension, Metal Edge rounded up some of the best little-known bands & released this compilation designed to keep true hard rockers happy. Now, not every song is a classic, and I would've chosen different songs for several of the bands, but the intention was good. In a time when hair-metal was being made grunge's bitch, this collection was a breath of fresh air. |

Very decent compilation of some underrated bands with the exception of Doug Aldrich and Johnny Gioelli that has some famousity status...Lancia,Tuff,Tattoo Rodeo got some attention from the media but the rest as far as i'm concerned went completely underground.85/100 |

yes...listening to this compilation again...about the highlights in here i'd go with these ones "Another Man's Gun" by Tuff,"Feels Like Love" by Tattoo Rodeo,a song that sounds ala Whitesnake by the 4 sides,"Public Trust" by Shake The Faith,"Talk To Myself" by Sircle Of Silence,a kicking a** song surely,"Colour Blind" by Slammin' Gladys & "Face Down" by the very talented Doug Aldrich & Johnny Gioeli....still the same rate...85/100...yep,recommended compilation... |
