First official release on CD for this one and a very very good slice of Canadian AOR it is. My one and only complaint with this though is that it is obviously remastered from vinyl (not a problem with that, but at least clean up the sound afterwards) -My own cd-r copy sounds better than this. The material throughout is excellent with 'Dream On Anastasia', 'Exiles', 'No Survivors' and 'Body To Body' being my picks. The bonus studio tracks are good, but the live ones unnecessary.

From: Harald Date: July 1, 2005 at 16:11
cult AOR album, favorites as above by Jez. I´m glad I´m just the ownner of an original vinyl copy with almost no crackles.

From: AOR freaky Date: July 21, 2005 at 4:06
The firts real classic rerelease on MTM Classix ! TOP CLASS AOR ! ! ! And better than what's offered these days (Blanc Faces, how good it may be, included). SUPERB ! BUY !

From: swriter Date: July 27, 2005 at 22:19
Good album, not what I expected, heavy on keys and lighter aor/rock, kinda techno cause of the drums and some very cool lead guitar!!!!, the only thing I can compare it to is The Ladder release around the same time, Body to Body is great as is Listen to your heart and thunder. I wonder if the second album is a good one but at ober 100 bucks, I will never know!!! hahaha

From: Lovedrive Date: August 5, 2005 at 8:22
Para mi gusto se salva la canción "HOT WORDS" que es muy chula, el resto no me dice nada

From: PAUL Date: September 20, 2005 at 12:31
THANKS A LOT MTM FOR THIS GEM!I bought it tommorow morning,i'm listening to it now and is perfect!Who cares for the production when exist songs like 3,6,7,10.An album full of PURE AOR,great songs and why not one of the best ever released from Canada.I'm wondering when and how i'll grab their second. Many people believe that's classic.

From: AOR freaky Date: September 20, 2005 at 14:18
Hey PAUL, glad you get this little GEM ! A keyboard paradise to our ears, ain't it ? ! ENJOY !

From: PAUL Date: September 20, 2005 at 14:20
Sorry guys.I'm not drunked, just not good in English language.I bought this cd TODAY and is excellent. The 10th song (IRON EAGLE SOUNDTRACK) is wrriten from REFUGGE or covered from ERIC MARTIN?

From: PAUL Date: September 20, 2005 at 14:37
Hello AOR freaky.Just listen to "listen to your heart" if you wanna go for seven minutes to AOR HEAVEN!Can you answer to my question mate? You or anyone else.

From: Nick C Date: September 21, 2005 at 11:13
These are the Good Times is a Refugee original. If I remember correctly (I'm at work at the moment so I can't check) Myles Hunter wrote it. The Eric Martin version is a cover.

From: z4roxx Date: September 21, 2005 at 11:56
Yes is the original one but Eric Martin's version is 10,000 times better....

From: PAUL Date: September 22, 2005 at 10:42
Thanks a lot Nick C.I agree z4roxx,Eric Martin's version is much better than Refugee's and "IRON EAGLE" soundtrack (especially the 1st) one of the best ever released!

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: September 25, 2005 at 23:25
Hey Boys!!! this is a Great AOR Classic album, yes CLASSIC!!!, señores por favor estamos hablando de Refugee uno de esos grupos de mediados de los 80 con un par de albums considerados clasicos y claro que lo son y mas si son de Canada, cortes con esa atmosfera unica de un año como fue el 85 Listen to Your Heart(i agree totally with PAUL, of course The Best song, esa atmosfera ese misterio, eso es MAGIA de los 80), No Survivors, Exiles in the Dark, Thunder of Another Night...

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: September 25, 2005 at 23:38
Dream on Anastasia, These Are the Good Times(aunque el de Eric sea mejor esta es buena tambien) tanto este como el siguiente se encuentran en un mismo nivel, si te gusta el buen AOR con Magicas inyecciones de teclado no pueden faltar por ningun motivo en tu coleccion, de ambos albums Power es la que tiene el sonido ganador aunque las mas completas son Love Survive y Listen to your Heart en mi modesta opinion!!! jaja, claro que son las ganadoras. bueno son gustos personales de un 80's lover

From: TomStavely Date: October 18, 2005 at 3:03

From: PAUL Date: October 18, 2005 at 11:10
The biggest surprise of the years!Rafo & Tom,i totally agree.CLASSIC ALBUM!!!I'm really impressed with the originality of the the songs, couldn't be more pure."listen to your heart' is the highlight, but the rest aren't far from this anthem. The secret of Canadian AOR,9+ for me.

From: Swazi Date: November 6, 2005 at 14:38
"My" second hand CD shop owner gave me the tip to buy this album and I must remember to give him a big hug the next time I'm there. This really is a PHANTASTIC album, very impressive indeed ! It well deserves this high rating. I don't know how I could miss this gem in the past, as any AOR lover should own it.

From: TomStavely Date: June 24, 2006 at 9:24
I have changed my opinion since i bought this last year, i gave it 8/10 it really is a 10/10 Proberly my all time favourite aor album, pure classic as everybodys said already, Buy it

Grandioso disco, temazos Dream on anastasia,Exiles in the dark( mi favorita),These are the good times,Hot words, todas excelentes y son leccion de aor y buen gusto; solos de guitarras maravillosos, teclados envolventes, que te dejaran con ganas de más, delicia para tus oídos, en general un clásico; REFUGEE grupazo canadiense ojalá algún día vuelvan a reformarse y saquen otro disco con esa misma magia de este disco.Excelente 10/10.

WOW! I havent heard that much KEYBOARDS before! this is KEYBOARD HEAVEN! Superb AOR CD, 10/10

From: Refugee80 Date: August 4, 2007 at 11:45
The best Aor/Rock album of all time in my opinion

From: TONI MALLORCA Date: August 4, 2007 at 14:24
buen album de aor aunque yo me quedo con el segundo y por supuesto con el album de AVALON "voice of life" la anterior banda del vocalista myles hunter.

From: PODEROSO YIRO Date: May 7, 2008 at 20:08
They were a very good AOR band. I prefer their second album, but this one is a great one too. One thing that is tipical about this band is their keyboards, their amazing keyboards in songs like "Thunder Of Another Light" which brings to the songs a very "Full Of Life" feeling. Good album, but their second one is better

From: Refugee80 Date: August 28, 2008 at 8:55
Over a year since i left a comment in this one, still my all time favourite album, best AOR 80's Rock album ever by far

From: KurtmanJP Date: October 7, 2008 at 12:56
Excellent musicianship and keys but the Bruce Springsteen-esq song structure leaves me a bit cold. "Thunder Of Another Night" is my favorite song here. Very good stuff, but not killer IMO.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: June 2, 2010 at 20:43
Obviously this album is a lot better than their Burning From The Inside Out one..more catchy and with a higher level of composition, melodically talking is miles away from Burning...the re-editon has some interesting rocking bonus tracks that are different from the songs of the studio album...after a nice intro song comes "Thunder Of Another Night" which is an excellent song, also "Listen To Your Heart" & "Hot Words" are also excellent ones,"Dreams Of Anastasia","Exiles In The Dark" and "No Survivors/No Way Out"(this one has a cool beat) are top notch tracks, also "Body To Body" is cool,"Here We Go Again" and "These Are The Good Times" are highlights("These Are.." is covered by Eric Martin and i agree with some comments above,Eric's version is a lot better than this original one)..about the bonus tracks,as i said, are rocky tunes with a kind of Meat Loaf feel to it!..the instrumental one of piano and drums is amazing!..anyway if u have 2 decide from one of the 2 Refugees releases, choose th

From: rick kerch vzla Date: June 2, 2010 at 20:43
continue..choose this one 4 sure!.86/100

From: BDrums1971 Date: September 4, 2010 at 3:01
Thought I would love this one from all the comments, but it doesn't seem to do it for me. The singer really reminds me of Meatloaf quite a bit. Maybe it would grow on me, but at first listen, it's just ok. I think it's partly the singer that I don't really care much for. I LOVE keyboards and AOR, but just can't get this one.

From: pompster80 Date: July 13, 2012 at 5:08
My all-time-favourite album (there has never been and probably will never be a better one). If you're into great keyboards, guitars, hooklines and lots of overwhelming melodies presented by a band with a great singer with a great voice, buy this album containing only masterpieces. Other releases by Myles Hunter (Refugee "Burning From The Inside Out", Avalon "Voice Of Life", Myles Hunter "Northern Union", Hunter-Greer "Tales From Stoney's Bar & Grill") are very good, too, but don't reach the standard of this opus here. Michael Fury "Affairs Of Babylon" comes closest to it with some common tracks and excellent additions. Enjoy!
