excellent melodic rock with a good dose of keyboards here and there.production is tight but could've been better.gary barden seems to be on top form although i think that his voice is a bit weird in the sense that either you love it or hate it,theres no in between.still this is a cracking re-release. |

Statetrooper's sound is decidely British, in much the same way as Praying Mantis are. The double guitar attack of Bushell and Summers trading off on many of the songs, with Glover's keyboards adding the icing. Highlight include the opener 'Shape Of Things To Come', 'Dreams Of The Faithful' and the superb 'Veni Vidi Vinci'. |

Great album and unlike some re-issues, the bonus tracks are really good... particularly "How does it Feel" This is a superb song with excellent vocals! I'd reccommend this to those who are into quality hard rock songs with a powerful British edge to the music. Just been on there website at www.statetrooper.co.uk and they are apparently working on a new CD... really looking forward to this!! |

Grab the 2002 reissue of this same CD which includes a SPECTACULAR version of MSG's Armed and Ready (Live). Damn I miss the Barden / Schenker connection! |

Very strong and powerful AOR outfit. As said above, very tight production which on the other hand doesn't seem that good (sometimes I even get the imagination of it's recorded straight from the LP). Best songs include "Shape of things..", "Veni, vidi, vici" & "How does it feel" as my forecomments tell. And I have to agree with the comparation with MANTIS too. But don't think there is anything bad in the a wee bit rough voice. 8,4/10 |

Wow!This cd fights every kind of depression!!G.Burden here is great, the sing better than the Midnight Blue release.I think Statetrooper are the inhevitable NWOBHM evolution with the keys’injection naturally.”Set fire to the night”is one of the greatest song ever heard, the rest is KILLER too!!!!Fans of Tobruk,Wildfire or Praying mantis take asap this disc,it’s essential.10/10! |

She Got The Look, the best song to ever blast out of the Swan's Juke Box on a summers night down on Wood Street. Worth the admission alone, one of the finest tracks ever cut. If you've ever had your breath taken away...then you know what your heart just can't describe. Took my breath away that's for sure...I shall play this song again on that jukebox...you just wait and see. |

Remind the power of MADISON and mix it with the melodics of STRANGEWAYS then you got it -! As z4roxx says: "This cd fights every kind of depression". I agree. Great power here. Add "Dreams of the faithful" to my favourite songs I declared with my former name, just "scandi" |

In agreement with the good comments stated above...i had this when it came out on a tape format!!!..only 9 songs...the cd re-edition brings additional tracks so it might be even more appealing to have than the first print of the album...best songs are "Dreams Of The Faithful","Stand Me Up"(my very personal favourite since i first heard it way back in 1987! ),"Last Stop To Heaven" & "She Got The Look"(catchy)...add to that the rocking opening "Shape Of Things" & "Set Fire To The Night"...Gary Barden (MSG fame) sang in here...94/100 |
