I remember i saw this one on ebay, and it went for BIG $$. A promotion video was made for "Put your hands on the screen", which also is the only song I've heard from this record and it didn't impress me that much...

first thing i want to point out about this album it's the beautifull artwork(gosh! if all aor covers were like this we should be hanging them on to the walls)martin briley its not going to be everybodys cup of tea i mean he plays the sort of thinking man's aor that at times can be a bit hard to diggest but you also get some very tight compositions that are quite a pleasure to listen to.i believe he has released 3 albums so far and this is definetely his best work to date.great stuff.

Finally I know the record from whence "Salt In My Tears" came from. That song alone is worth a hefty price for this cd. If you have not heard this song you must listen to it. Find it and listen to it. You are not a true 80's rock fan if you have not heard this song. End of discussion!!!

If the thought of an AOR Peter Gabriel makes you want to fork over $200, then "One Night with a Stranger" is your calling card. I had this CD for a while, but only found I was listening to "The Salt in My Tears". I sold the CD, bought a compilation disc called "Agony and Ecstacy: Rock's Greatest Hits Vol. 6" for a TENTH of the price of "Stranger". Ever since, I have been satisfied to own just that one hit.

LOL, perfect. I have that compilation as well, and bought it for that song! Guess I will stick with that, based on your review. Thanks Koogles

The artwork is beautiful, but the album deserves nothing more than 5/10, or maybe it's just me.

I am not going to pay 160 for salt in my tears. It is a great song though.

Certainly better than 'Dangerous Moments', and features some classy 80's AOR numbers, as well as some of the best artwork ever seen on a rock album. Worth owning...7.5/10

Hip-O Select has just released a limited edition (3000) box set w/ all the tracks from his 3 Mercury albums plus six bonus tracks. At $40, that's a "bargain", considering what this one goes for on eBay: http://tinyurl.com/7j6yr

Very good! It sounds like Peter Gabriel goes AOR!! "Maybe I`ve waited too long" is the TOP-Hit! CHECK IT OUT!!!

Exactly this is a good decent AOR album with touches of Pop/New Wave here and there ...vocally Martin reminds me of Peter Gabriel or Phil Collins(am i correct?)...tracks 2,3,6,7,8(completely New Wave)& 9 are my faves...if you like The Cars, for example then perhaps this release can be yours.80/100
