Good listening or driving music. Catchy lyrics, and great guitar riffs.

This is another one of those Hair Metal CDs lost in the shuffle of flooding the market with any glam outfit to be called a band in the late 80's/early 90's. This would've been a monster if it didn't get shuffled off as another Hair Band. Along with Cry Wolf, XYZ and Xenon, one of the best Hair Metal discs out there. If you like Hair Metal I suggest you get this disc before it's all gone!!

When I listen to the songs they are hard to pin down as "who it sounds like" but I hear some Skid Row feel to it. It is a good cd, a solid 8.5 on my scale.

One of the best, most melodic bands lost in the Alternative era. The ballad "I can't wait" is reminiscent of Sebastian Bach vocals. A collectors must have!!!!!!!!!

This one kicks ass. They sound quite a bit like Dokken, XYZ and Hardline. Everyone I show this disc to says the girl on the cover could be better looking. Give the band a break! Not everyone had the budget to bring in girls like the ones in Warrant and Poison photo shoots. And she really isn't too bad, anyway.

Damn good band...sound of Skid Row running through this bad boy...has a great hard rockin sound, crazy guitar work with of course the mandatory pounding drums...definitely worth the price of admission...Quote the WidoMakr....never more

Agreed....Skid Row vibe going on here. Not totally Sebastian Bach, but close. Musically...I'd say it compared to the first Skid Row cd with some hints of their 2nd. I liked it alot. 8.5

I own so many cd's, some get lost in the shuffle. I've owned this for a while, but never listened all the way through. I pulled it out today and man, what great tunes. They have a Skid Row/XYZ sound. There are hints of Dokken, Hardline, and a tiny bit of Winger. Some of the guitar effects sound similar to Emerald Rain or Zakk Wylde's playing.

Cry Wolf fans might appreciate this one as well. I'll go with James's rating: 8.5

Thanks to this site and to all the others guys who rewiwed This one. You make me discover a big gem. I agree they can be compared with XYZ,Heaven's edge and early Winger. Bad girls start just like Seventeen(winger). It's my favorite song togheter with Hot n' cold and One summer night.

A total gem, this is one underated CD. Singer is similar to sebastian which makes is worth buying for just that. Great songs for cruisin in the car too. Just listen to Feel the fire, Backside of Love, Reach out and One summer night and you'll know what I mean. The bass player in this band played in Annihilator.

I agree with most of the comments posted so far. This is a solid 9.0 disc that gets better as the cd goes along. Why they put a ballad a track 2 always baffled me. Killed the flow of the disc for me and had me rating it lower as a result. Once I get past the (awesome) ballad this thing just flat out rocks with hooks, harmonies and flat out good songs. JK

I just found this cd about a year ago. This should have been huge. If you like Dokken, XYZ and bands like that, you should not miss this one. I need to find more stuff like this and Cry Wolf. By the way, I think the girl is awsome on the cover.

Dirty Rhythm were an exceptional melodic hair metal band, with a sound at times similar to Skid Row and Cry Wolf. But like so many melodic glam bands of the early 90's, they faded without a trace. The band consisted of Jeffrey Michael Bonds (vocals), Brian Harrison (guitar and keyboard), Anthony Brian Greenham (bass, who appeared as a guitarist on Annihilator's 1989 album Alice In Hell) and Samuel Zern (drums). The bands debut album, Hard As A Rock, was produced by Loverboy guitarist Paul Dean i

in Burnaby, British Columbia. Just prior to the albums release, Troy Miller replaced Zern. The record, and it's single "Hot N' Cold", sank without a trace, and Dirty Rhythm faded into obscurity. WHAT A FUCKING SHAME !!. I SHARE IT ON KAZAA . COME AND SEE WHAT YOU LOST

Thank you to everyone above that gave this a review. This is a great CD. The XYZ -Dokken references are right on. The vocals are not as good as Terry Ilous. But hey, who is?

A CD that deserves to have a place into the top 25. Indeed, this is typically eighties hardrock, done with class. XYZ, Dokken and Heavens Edge are indeed bands in the same vein. Good one !

this is a very good indie melodic rock album.., this outfit delivers the goods the way i like them to be delivered..All songs are great but i recommend the following tunes: "one summer night" (great stuff), 'waiting for the money' (very cool rocker), 'hard as a rock (tongue n cheek rocksong) and 'blinded by love'..not a weak moment on this album..buy it people if you can find it...whatever happened to all the members?

Just noticed I had this, and what a pleasant surprise it is. I wouldn't say it's anything groundbreaking, but it's really good. Very solid, good production, musicianship, songwriting, the works. I think I may play this more often... Hey MJ, why no like "Blinded"? Apparently you can't "see" what a great song it is... j/k, it's okay but definitely not the high point of this disc.

This band was as good as it gets in the early 90's. I did gigs with them at Eli's and Starrynight (portland or.) and they were better live, than the CD showed. It was just bad timing on the change of music through out the world. I still have my Cassette from back then. I broke it out, and reflected with a brew.

Just got this off of e-bay. Thanks to T-Bone for hooking me up with a few tracks some time ago. This is a fun release, but not without fault. "Hot-n-Cold" was a poor choice for a lead single and the lyrics are awful. The energy level on this one is wonderful, much like debut SKID ROW or Sleeze Beez. Reminds me of a bar band that got the chance to make a big time album. They come off like a Brass Kitten without the annoying vocals. Good stuff.

Hello. I was the original bass player in Dirty Rhythm. Ialso Co-wrote many of the songs on the album. The only acknowledgement I got however was a performance listing on one song on the album. Sammy Z. and I got the shaft on that one, but that's the way it goes in the music business. Jeff, Sammy Z, and I are back at it performing in the Portland area in a band called JUNKYARD DOGS. Brian is managing a Guitar Center and Troy isout of music all together. Thoses were some of the best days of my life

The name of the band and the album cover gave me the initial impression that they were more of a sleaze band - man, I was WAY off! Great straight-ahead hard rock, somewhat Dokken-ish. This one will be in my rotation for a good while...

Glad to see this one scores (well earned) rave reviews. Great hard rock CD with great tunes and as people say, a great vocalist. I rate 'I can't wait' as one of my favourite songs of all time, so that pretty much sold me. Stunning song and a great hard rock album. Recommended.

Disc still gets alot of play.Solid band & album! "Feel The Fire" should've catapulted these guys toward the riches of the world, but instead we got stuck with the likes of "Poison" & "Warrant" to dominate the airwaves/videowaves and to make those with taste puke.Oops don't hurt me "Poison" fan...anyway-was some good songs, vox and fretwork on this badboy. The solo on "One Summer Night" rips! Ive heard this thing got shelved for d*mn near a year before it was even released..that obviously didn't help."Hard As A Rock" should definitely be reissued.--

Talk about a great album, this CD sports more enjoyment than the slutty hot chick next door who does magically dirty things with her fingers and tongue. Pounding rhythms (I'm talking about the CD again, not the hot chick), big guitars, hooks big enough to snag Moby Dick, anthemic choruses, gang backing vocals...these hard rockers had it all. The only thing preventing this thing from achieving absolute perfection is that the songs on the second half suffer a drop in quality when compared to the first six. There is a definite Skid Row vibe going on here, and that's a good thing. Pop this puppy in your player and it will definitely rock your rafters.

Wow Mark.....I don't think I could describe this baby any better. You sure know how to make a guy want to run out and sell everything he owns to buy a copy of this disc......all I can say is this L.A. style hard rock similar to WILDSIDE, HERICANE ALICE, MCQUEEN STREET and CRY WOLF. Awesome, huge, explosive hair-metal with giant hooks, monster choruses and massive backing vocals. It also can be compared to a stunning combination of SKID ROW, EMERGENCY and GUNSHY, but then, none of these are more enjoyable than that slutty hot chick next door who does all those, uh...things!!!

After some recent spins i must said that my comment was not fair(December 22-2006)this album is more than decent...IS GREATTTTT!!! ...solid tracks everywhere!!!...lacks of originality???..i was wrong!..the issue is that so many bands were alike at that time but only a few ones were "decent" and Dirty Rhythm was one of the decent bands..."Feel The Fire" kicks a**!,"I Can't Wait" nice ballad,"Blinded" wonderful catchy chorus,"Hard As A Rock","One Summer Night","Hold On (Forever Tonight)" & "Burn Out The Night" are top notch rocking tracks that will put a smile in your face ...thumbs up 4 this album!.95/100
