superb melodic hard rock from these germans, splendid stuff! Highly recomedend to fans of classic german melodic hard rock of the the highest order ala casanova's and bonfire's first 2 cds and the first fair warning the second zeno cd's and the recent jaded heart cds. rock on, from australia melodicrockoz@yahoo.com

From: M. Allen Date: February 1, 2004 at 19:08
Take note, folks, this is some killer melodic hard rock. Taking the winning formula of good guitars, big hooks, catchy choruses, & multi-layered backing vocals, the band serves up a slice of musical heaven that will appeal to fans of Dreamhunter, Emerald Rain, or Firehouse. 13 tracks in all and not one of them is filler material. Bottom line, not having this CD in your collection is about as dumb as trying to decapitate someone with a dull butter knife...

From: Jon Davis Date: February 14, 2004 at 16:46
Very cool. His voice reminds me of Holy Soldier - Steven Patrick. The music is more on the lines of Bonfire. Any know if they are gonna release another cd?? Enjoyed this one very much.

Pure melodic heaven! Every song here is good. Some are so awesome, they put the above average tracks to shame. Highlights throughout including the opener So Many Eyes, the heavy, hook laced Too Late For Love, which has one of the most intense and phenemonaly melodic solos ever, the amazing power ballad Lady and the melodic and catchy tunes Don't Believe In Miracles, Can't Let You Go, and Miles Away From Home. Japan issue has 2 great bonus tracks worthy of inclusion on this killer release! 9.5/10

It's sad to think that the majority of melodic hard rock fans don't know about this one. I was given it in a trade just as a recommendation with no prior knowledge of it, and it blew me away. Perfectly excecuted melodic hard rock in the style of many listed above. 'Don't believe in miracles' and 'I've lost my faith in you' are melodic gems, but for me it is the beautiful 'All my love for you' that steals the show. Nothing bad at all here - just killer melodic hard rock from start to finish.

From: Emily S. Date: September 24, 2004 at 9:30
Great, great performance!! This one is just simply out of this world. Every song is far above the average melodic hardrock production. Love especially the first Japan bonus track " Let's get crazy ". Wow, I am still mesmerized by this awesome and somewhat unique release. A must for EVERY melodic rock fan!!

From: VegasSeller Date: April 15, 2005 at 17:15
I'll agree in that this is a great slice of Melodic Hard Rock in the style of Bonfire and Jaded Heart but why hasn't anyone mentioned the pitchiness of the vocalist? It's not that bad but it should be noted that he does go flat in places (kind of like Ted Poley who has NO business singing backing vocals - eeww!!). 7.5 out of 10.

Great, great, great.

From: BIG-TIME Date: July 22, 2006 at 6:48
Sorry Guys dont like it, this is scandi rock its along the lines of Dalton, Europe, Da Vinci, Treat, Bad Habit, the music is very good but the singer sucks. He really does make me cringe...I really do wish people would discern the difference between Hard Rock and Scandi Rock its ace for 1998 though but I prefare singers like Sammy Hagar, Andy Denton (Legend S/T christian band) that kick ass. If you like Scandi Rock get it otherwise if you like rock that kicks ass still get it (its one for the co

(its one for the collection) but just dont pay loads for it...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

From: Erik Date: July 22, 2006 at 10:01
BIT TIME its ok that you dont like it. But Scandi means bands from Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark. This is a german band........ Btw people this is a killer melodic hard rock album. So if you love Jaded Heart, Dalton, Dreamhunter and the likes like that this is ESSENTIAL. Buy or ... 9/10

From: BIG-TIME Date: August 1, 2006 at 16:08
Hey Erik no disrespect, but here goes...(sighs) I know what countrys scandi band's are from hence the name, but you dont have to be scandanavian to play scandi rock. It's like SHY who are an English band they ARE classed as AOR...but what you seem to be saying is no they cant be AOR coz there not American. You can be of any nationality to play any of the different type of rock out there.

From: BIG-TIME Date: August 1, 2006 at 16:15
The bands you mentioned Dalton, and Dreamhunter are scandi band's so you are confirming what I said in my last review, Diary sound Scandi just coz there german, dont mean anything. I paid alot for this CD (JAP) and I didnt know it was (sort of) scandi rock, I just want people to put up proper reviews not just WOW DUDE THIS ROCKS!!! If I knew what it was then I would find it cheeper. I like stuff to blow me away (Big Bad Wolf) this just doesnt, so I am warning people like me...

Wow. Amazing record. Pure class. Pity they only recorded one CD.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: August 21, 2006 at 10:23

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: August 21, 2006 at 10:30

From: BIG-TIME Date: September 22, 2006 at 14:32
Just listerned to it again like I said before the music is good but the singer is out all the time. Touches note's that singers should stay clear off if you like off key singers like, Bosse Lindmark, Robban Ernlund, and Jamie St. James, go for it it you like out off tune singers, but I like singer who can keep in tune (LOL) so me no like...KEEP ROCKIN!!!

From: george_the_jack Date: April 7, 2007 at 18:07
unbelievable stuff from a german group....this makes me sure...The Germans know how to produce melodies and harmonies...

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: March 24, 2008 at 15:13
hey Rafo what about "Too Late For Love, What About Love(bonus), Let's Get Crazy(bonus)" you are right Phoenix 3 Great songs specially "Too Late For Love" sorry for this mistake.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: March 16, 2010 at 19:03
This one is a mind blowing album!!..the first track might be a little weaker but from song 2 onwards....an excellent album.."Don't Believe In Miracles" is a good song with a very melodic chorus kinda sing along one then comes "Can't Let Go" which is a excellent mid tempo track,"I've Lost My Faith In You" is another goodie and the ballad "All My Love For You" is just amazing, track 9 "Miles Away From You" keeps it steady and "Cry For Love" has that cool sound that catches you immediately... "Nothing But Trouble" is a taste of good HR...in general lines a really exciting band that has good songs and good names for them being the word "Love" the key.By the way if you like Blue Tears then Diary is a good option...even the voice of Andreas Stoller has some remiscences of Gregg Fulkerson..90/100

From: Delbert Date: March 17, 2010 at 15:29
Looks like this band has a following.....put me in the same line. The first thing that jumps out at you is the classic Scandi sound of this band. Crammed with melodic rock songs that are at times soft with underlaid keyboards and at other times more guitar oriented, however, always with drive and an irresistable beat. If you are a fan of EUROPE, 80's BON JOVI, DARE, TREAT, FATE, CHINA etc etc etc..........you won't want to miss this one.

From: andi Date: February 27, 2011 at 16:46
BIG-TIME:I think you have really no plan about great melodic hardrock! This album is full of rock and everyone song rocks you to hell and back!Similar to bonfire´s 2006 Album! And the shouter is great!!!

From: De Cologne Date: May 20, 2012 at 7:22
To be true this one is their second release. The tracks 2,6,10 and 12 were already released in 1995 on a 6 track private pressed CD. But dont hesistate: the tracks who dont made on this album (Look into the diary, T.S.I.T.N.A.) were just intro and outro.

Why??????????????????? 70/100 ):

From: 123charpenay Date: February 25, 2013 at 12:03
i m ok with" big time" and i m very surprised by all the great comments about this disc.for one time i m absoluty not agree with my friend rick.blue tears and all the masters of scandi a o r have nothing in common with this second zone german band .not a bad album ok but it s a very average realise.nothing extraordinary a decent production but some verses really weak.it s better on the choruses but we don t touch the skies.a decent record not more.

From: hair metal again Date: June 25, 2014 at 8:17
pretty good release by DIARY but not as good as stated in many comments!hard rock from the German scene ,with a great guitar player and a singer that sometimes sounds strange!overall they remind me of FAIR WARNING and you wont be dispointed if you expect an ok release!i also believe it could be better if they did less songs ,as it would be more memorable!the highlight is of course the excellent "all my love for you"!nice addition!
