I don't know what it is with bands today, but for some reason they can't or won't play guitar solo's anymore??? Jet is a pretty good band out of Australia, and eventhough most of their songs sound like the Beatles, they still have some hard rockin' tunes as well like, Cold Hard Bitch. It's a great song, but it needs a guitar lead. Overall, it's not a bad album. Jet is old school rock, you can hear some AC/DC, Beatles, Floyd, and David Bowie in this album.

Just the kick in the pants rock needed! VERY good record! Agreed that 'Cold Hard Bitch' rocks out. A solid album, all the way through. If you can imagine AC/Dc meets the Kinks, Beatles and Oasis? I love this cd. It's like Oasis with members of the Black Crowes, all stoned and rocking their azzes off like nobody's business.

As impressive as you want to think of it being. Personally I think some kids figured out how to rip off a lot of classic rock n roll songs and made an overproduced formularic product out of it. Now that Ive heard it more then once I think its really fucking annoying and wish it would go away.

Este es sin duda uno de los mejores discos que han salido en los últimos años. Riffs, melodias y demás que te pueden recordar a muchas cosas del pasado pero con algo especial que hace que su sonido sea auténtico también. Indispensables Rollover DJ, Look what you've done y Cold Hard Bitch. 9/10

I have heard a couple of songs of this and I hate them with a passion. Bring back the talented bands Like Skid Row, Tyketto, Dokken and Wildside. This band is quite big here in Australia and I don't get it, if you make the radio you are popular, but it doesn't mean you have talent.

Jet unfairly lumped in with band such as "The Strokes". Jet are more of a cross between AC/DC and Rolling Stones with some Beatles ballads thrown in. Not for everyone on this site, but one of the better mainstream rock acts out. 8/10

I really like this album. starts off very strong but the last couple of songs are just kinda there for me. you hear bits of AC/DC, Stones, The Who, Skynyrd, Black Crowes, and some new punk influences of today. This is a real kicker of an album, fun and catchy

I'm with Jason on this one... they've got some great riffs, but a solo would be nice! And "Cold Hard Bitch" is a great song, but would be even better with a stronger chorus.

VERY s urprised to see this here. I know it's the flavor of the month, and I hate that 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl" song with the done-to-death Iggy Pop ripoff rhythm, but I do like "Cold Hard Bitch" in spite of myself. Not the second coming of the rock 'n' roll Jesus, but not bad, for what it is, I guess.

It's pretty good overall, although I was hoping for more songs like the great Cold Hard Bitch. Black Crowes fans should like them.

I was thinking today when "Cold Hard Bitch" came on the radio yet again, the singer actually s ounds a LOT like Josh Todd on that song.

So anyone out there wanna tell me why these guys are so popular now? It's not like there's anything original about what they've done...just rip off some classic rock bands and get recognition for it. There's no reason why a band like this should be anymore popular than the classic rock bands out there that they sound like.

Everyone in the last 40 years has been ripping someone before them off so why not like a band for that? Zep, they just ripped off old blues players and made it electric. Beatles--self confessed Elvis fantaics. Stones--wanted to be the bad boy Beatles. Kiss---Alice Cooper meets heavy Beatles. Aerosmith--again ripped off old blues players and made it rockin more. Crue---Kiss glammed up. Poison--Crue more glammed up and so on and so on. The "they ripped off so and so" doesn't hold much water.

I personally have no problem with the "ripping off" of other bands mentioned or not mentioned, but I think the problem most hard rock/AOR fans have with Jet and all the other sound alikes is the same problem 70's rock fans had with the 80's hair bands. Which is, if you are "ripping off" someone it shouldn't be ptu forth as anything new or fresh. Most rock has been done and rehashed a zillion times. Most critics feel that the Darkness and Jet to name 2 are the saviors of rock. That is the problem

(cont.) that most if not all rock fans have. It is not fresh and it is not grounbreaking. Jet is not bad, but IMO nowhere near the Gods they are being portrayed as. That is why for the most part I prefer prog (rock and metal)for the most part. It is a fresh take on rock in general although an argument could be made that there are prog clones and "ripofs" too. Just an opinion.

To me this just okay. A couple good tunes "Cold Hard Bitch", "Roll Over DJ", with some good riffs, but yeah, what they said: The choruses aren't strong enough. Maybe some backing vocals would help... Overall this was pretty disappointing to me.

Oh yeah, and to copy yet another comment, what is the deal with the lack of guitar soloes these days. It's far from the only thing I listen to in a song, but it's still pretty damn important! Especially since I play guitar...

Jet would be really good if their plane went down on a island somewhere and they were never heard of again. This is the s**t that keeps real music off of the radio, especially here in the good ol' U.S. of A. where they can't play a frellin' rock song on the radio to save a life. Thanks for killin' rock and rapin' roll Jet. Do something origianl, will ya? Like go away! This SUCKS!!

My 15 yr old was playing this cd one day & I ask her "Is this the new Beatles cd?" She hands me the case & says "Not hardly!" I look at the cd cover & go retrieve my "Revolver" cd for her. Her initial comment was "Their cd looks like Jet's." After she listens to "Revolver" she then asks me "What's going on here?" I tell her it's self indulgent ingrates ripping off not only a sound but a classic marketing design. It deflated her sails on Jet & she refuses to play Jet anymore, Praise the Lord!

Yes there are many Beatles quotes on this record,That's okay cause if you gonna steal something steal a diamond, not a piece of coal!!I love the Beatles and Revolver is everywere on here, but the fact is Jet are bringing that kind of music back to the Mainstream Radio's. And damn they do it WELL!!!VERY WELL!!! They don't try and hide the fact that they LOVE Classic Rock!! More Power to them!! This Album Kicks Ass. Hopefully it will make others look to the Masters for inspiration,if so then Amen!!!

No, it's not OK dumb fuck! Cold Hard Bitch. What the hell is that, a down 'n' out drink for .50 cents? What the music world needs is something that remotely resembles originality and these sorry shits don't come close. Enjoy the groove it provides but don't ever confuse this crap with something substantial for the survival of the fittest. Avoid this. Spend your $ on an old Angel(City) import if you can find it.

Yes,I have Heard Angel(city),and Man it Rocks! Better than this? Hell yes! The sad thing is that style of music(my fave) is not served to us on Rock Radio. I don't ever listen to the Radio anyway, but when I happen to hear it all we get is CRAP, DE-TUNED,NO SOLOS,I GREW UP WITH MY MOM'S TIT IN MY MOUTH,WHINY ,BAGGIE PANTS ,SUBURBAN NU METAL!! So When we get a band that starts to Acknowlege OLD SCHOOL METAL,Then I'll Listen. SHUT UP AND FUCKIN PLAY THE GUITAR...

What a steaming pile of crap this album is. Jet really is the P Diddy of rock with the blatant rehashing of past classic songs like Lust For Life being turned into Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Shoot To Thrill being perverted into Cold Hard Bitch and Imagine becoming Look What Youve Done. Skip this and buy the albums of the great acts that Jet pilfered.

Good and simple straight forward Rock'n'Roll!!!!.I haven't heard from them anymore. The songs are sincere and pure as the old Rock'n'Roll bands used to be.They have some AC/DC influence and some southern stuff aswell.Hope their second effort would be as good as this one if there's one...

When this CD came out, I bought it but i didn't give it much attetion. Four (or five?) years later i must to admit that I love every song of this awesome CD!. "Last chance" starts kickin' in your face, "Are you gonna be my girl" it's a great rockin' song & "Rollover DJ" is a good song too.Yes, "Look what you've done" it's nice but similar to Imagine (John Lennon). "Get What You Need" it's short but fantastic (good choruses). "Move On", i love that song it reminds me to "Love In Vain" (cont. -->)

(cont.)(The Rolling Stones)."Radio Song" has some great (& realistic) lyrics."Get Me Outta Here" it's really rocker, and is a fantastic song (good lyrics, too)."Cold Hard Bitch",maybe the gem of the album,it's the must hardrocker song here."Come around again" it's a beautiful ballad & "Take it or leave it" it's so explosive(in a good sense)."Lazy Gun" it's a good mid-tempo song."Timothy" it's wonderful & I have 1 bonus track called "Sgt Major",is the best Oasis song that Oasis never made. Buy it!

I don't understand what is ripping off a music style. Influences are always there. The ripping point a view is dangerous. In that way, 30% of the bands on Heavy Harmonies and that i like ripped AC/DC. Is it that???. As for JET, i like a couple of songs, but overall is far to fit on my 1.000 favorites cds.

Jet named this debut album "Get Born." They should have named it "Get Lost," because that's exactly what I wish they would do. Granted, "Cold Hard Bitch" is pretty good, but the rest is about as appealing as listening to a fat chick's wet farts.

Got to agree. I bought this one for "Cold Hard Bitch," and because it was cheap. Totally disappointed in the rest of the disc. "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" is just plain stupid, and is built entirely on the overused rhythm from that Stooges song, you know the one. The rest is just more dumb, amateurish garage-punk crap, if you'll pardon the redundancy. One good song and a ton of hype.
