Great CD, but Michael Guy never played on the album, Doug Aldrich played on all of the songs, never getting credit!

Great songs, great vocals, and just great well-written musicianship. Killer hard rock with more definitely more of an AOR feel to it. Get this and check it out, it is a great one. 9.5 on TheRipper scale!!!

From: jaso Date: May 19, 2002 at 19:42
I got this album used for $7 bucks. I don't really care for it, but I bought it for their cover of Steve Winwood's song "Can't find my way home". If anyone gives a rats ass, Gene Simmons (KISS) was the executive producer and Mike Tramp (White Lion) sang back up volcals.

From: Desslar Date: May 21, 2002 at 16:09
The Blind Faith cover is great, and there are a few other solid tracks. Not very original and sometimes a bit tired, but overall enjoyable. Much, much better than Giuffria.

From: robert Date: October 20, 2002 at 16:12

Damn, there is again more than one voting from me ! Sorry again ! My PC works wrong !

From: King James Date: April 24, 2003 at 22:45
Good, but not as good as the first album. Definitely lighter than the first one. The song Sahara has a cool progressive metal sound to it and American Babylon is sort of heavy. Also, it's more hard rock than heavy metal. I found it yesterday at a used CD store for $5.99!

From: ted Date: May 10, 2003 at 16:08

From: Trick Taylor Date: May 29, 2003 at 14:56
This is a true gem that would have been moderately successful if better business decisions had been made. The Blind Faith cover should have been the second single, not the first. And the tour with Nelson was a decision that should have gotten somebody fired! Either that or Greg was totally selling out for his long awaited buck. I love "Heart on the Line" and "Chains of Love". Either would have peaked enough interest as a first single. Aren't they working on new stuff?

From: THE_ROGUE Date: June 5, 2003 at 18:16
Even better than the first album, which to me is saying something. LANNY CORDOLA is gone and competently replaced by michael guy with some help from RICK NIELSEN, CHRIS IMPELLITERI & DOUG ALDRICH. Along with the amazing guest guitarists their is a host of famous back-up singers on here, buy the CD to find out who. Highly recommended.

From: John Date: September 5, 2003 at 13:43
That's how you do a cover tune. These guys were really hitting their stride with this one. Saw their show supporting this album and these songs explode live. Good record. 8/10.

From: andria Date: October 23, 2003 at 20:20
"Can't find my way home and remember My Name" are great (I like their album cover too).

From: vandervelde Date: November 16, 2003 at 11:15
I must say that keyboards on this record are terrific. Greg Giuffria done nothing better than this. Definately the stand out song is "Remember my name"...also very good videoclip has this song, worth to check. Listen after listen i like this album more and more. Great hardrock, some bluesy feel but very melodic. Did i mentioned that Christian is a god? BTW After all who plays guitar on this record?

From: caluche Date: November 18, 2003 at 16:54

From: Dani Date: December 5, 2003 at 13:22
Good album. Nice songs. James Christian reminds me of Jeff Scott Soto, and that's something good, isn't it?. Guitar work is really good too. 8.5/10

From: MJ (Marla) Date: January 20, 2004 at 13:15
I LOVE this album!!! This is by far my Favorite House Of Lords release!!! "Sahara" knocked me on my butt the first time I heard the song!!! "Can't Find My Way Home" "It Ain't Love" "Remember My Name".. *major sigh, there* lol..... I honestly love EVERY song on this!!! I have to give this one a 10/10.

En mi opinión...el sonido de este disco es bastante similar a el grupo anterior de Greg Giuffria (Giuffria)...un poco menos en calidad a su album debut, recomendables,Remenber my name y Can't find my way home...intercambio de material...erbunny@telesal.net...

From: Big Papa K Date: June 13, 2004 at 2:14
They switch from the aor anthems of the first album to more of a hair band/Zeppelin mix. Maybe like a lighter Blue Murder. I wonder which guitarist play what on this album (I don't think Michael Guy actually plays on it). 7/10

From: giorgos-greece Date: July 12, 2004 at 18:08
Bombastic record full of energy ,quality songwriting and excellent performance.True classic,a lot better than their debut. They were a heavy supergroup with short, but hit-making recording career, just like bad english and damn yankees.Recently they reunited and released a new cd ,the first since 1992, but it didn't get any good reviews;haven't heard it yet....

From: giorgos-greece Date: July 12, 2004 at 18:11
check out also Christian's solo record "rude awakening" ,the man simply rulezzz

From: TIM (2) Date: July 13, 2004 at 5:50
This was probably my least fave HOL album, as it has such a mix of styles and doesn't make a very cohesive album. The first 2 tracks are excellent bombastic AOR, similar to the debut, but then you get a cover version, followed by what should've been a Cheap Trick song, then a filler, and then the excellent title-track. "Remember My Name" is a monster power-ballad, and "Kiss of Fire" sounds like "Looking For Strange" from the debut, so no bad thing. A little patchy, but still worthwhile for a few

From: TIM (2) Date: July 13, 2004 at 5:51
tracks. 7/10.

From: Rocker76 Date: July 13, 2004 at 8:41
Like Tim, I also felt this follow-up was not of the same caliber as that unbelievable S/T. Despite the cover song (I would have liked another HOL original), this album was still a super solid piece of classy 80s metal. The hat trick of "Sahara," "It Ain't Love," and "Remember My Name" really helped to sell me on this album and they are the highlights IMO. Giuffria continues his masterful keys but I really miss Lanny Cordola. Still a top-notch effort. 8.5/10.

From: Carmine Rose Date: November 25, 2004 at 20:19
The debut, although it was good, this is a MILLION times better.

From: Hairball John Date: November 26, 2004 at 21:07
I loved the debut and even though this release was a little more polished it still had some rockin tunes. We played "Remember My Name" as a request this week. Check out The Hairball John Radio show every week at www.hairballjohn.com for many of the lost classics and new kick ass tunes. The Hairball John Radio Show the past is back to kick your ass!

I bought this cd used and it is one of my favorites. Overall, it's a great cd to listen to while working on the computer, cleaning the house, or just rockin' out!!!

From: Geoff Date: February 12, 2005 at 21:41
Nowhere near as good as the debut, but I appreciated the beefier sound. 'Laydown staydown' is a great hard rocker, and the title track is awesome. For me, though, this album belong entirely to one song and that slab of perfection goes by the name of 'Remember my name'. Sad they didn't write it, but one of the best songs of the time IMO. Beautiful. Good solid CD, but I prefer the debut and 'Demons Down'.

From: 9 CHAMPIONS A 1 Date: February 15, 2005 at 13:51

From: MIGUEL GUNS Date: April 4, 2005 at 16:21
9 CHAMPIONS A 1, TIO, TE HAS PASAO UN POCO NO? SIN SER TAN BUENO COMO EL PRIMERO A MI NO ME PARECE PARA NADA MEDIOCRE.

From: ArnoldLancelot Date: April 4, 2005 at 23:54
Now, on what caluche have said I would NOT really pay atention: clueless. But 9 Champions talking like that on this! that worries me! It may not be as great as the s/t, but calling this cowshit? Not at all, I'm sorry! There are indeed some fillers and they have toughen up the shades overall, but certainly we got our highlights besides Remember my name, ex: It ain't love, Chains of love and Sahara is completely stunning!!From aor to hard rock with a crisp clean production as a diamond tip!!

From: howe Date: May 15, 2005 at 12:00
Another awesome release! Remember My Name is a great commercial ballad. Other highlights for me are It Ain't Love, Can't Find My Way Home and Kiss Of Fire. These guys rock! They probably never had a huge hit (although I remember listening to some of their songs on the radio) because people immediately compare them to Whitesnake, and that might have shaded their career a bit. The fact is that I love both of these bands and to me they both have a very unique sound. Rock at its best!

From: juan carlos Date: March 16, 2006 at 15:29

From: Jorge Date: August 26, 2006 at 20:17

From: ROBERT Date: September 29, 2006 at 12:14
D este 2º, parece q tocaran: SAHARA y Can't Find my Way Home, y Mi Gran Super Favorita: REMEMBER MY NAME, parece q no la tocan!! Otra q me mola d este Disco: It Ain't Love !!! Q GANAS D VERLOS MAÑANA EN BARNA!!!

From: Mediaab Date: October 3, 2006 at 5:31
THIS 2ND ALBUM BY HOL WAS AT FIRST A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT TO ME. GONE WERE ALL THE GREAT CHORUSES OF THE FIRST S/T KILLER RELEASE FROM 1988. "SHOOT" AND "CHAINS OF LOVE" BOTH HAVE ANNOYINGLY POOR CHORUSES!! LATER ON I HAVE COME TO APPRECIATE THE OTHER SONGS MORE, ESP THE SLOWER SONGS ON THIS ONE. THE 1988 S/T DISC, DEMON'S DOWN AND THE LATEST WORLD UPSIDE DOWN ARE DEFINITELY THE THREE BEST HOL ALBUMS, MUCH BETTER THAN THE OTHERS. BUT DUE TO AT LEAST A FEW GOOD SONGS ON SAHARA, I'D GIVE IT A 6/10

From: RockMan10 Date: November 24, 2006 at 3:32
I knew the guitars sounded very familiar! It's Doug Aldrich. I've had this album for over a 15 years and never knew that. A great listen but I still prefer Demons and the debut to this but it has a few absolute killers.

From: z4roxx Date: January 12, 2007 at 13:44
As I did remember, that’s their wrong foot indeed. The first 4 tracks are fillers to be HOL,from”Laydown staydown”(one of the best here)the cd rocks and ends with one of their finest gems”Kiss of fire”.The last release pulverized this cd IMO.

From: Axe-Machine Date: February 27, 2007 at 7:27
Definately the best House of Lords album. This one has the songs to match the quality of the debut, but unlike that album has a killer production to match. Songs like 'Shoot', 'Chains of Love' and 'Can't Find My Way Home' are all excellent, and a special mention for the title track, which as far as I am concerned is one of the tracks by which all other songs in the melodic rock genre are measured. Essential listening.

From: Darkstorm Date: March 4, 2007 at 0:06
A heavire sound than before but still a solid release with the Autograph inspired Laydown Staydown, the awesome Kiss Of Fire, and the amazing Remember My Name being the standout tracks

From: rick kerch vzla Date: May 1, 2007 at 21:58

From: hernanHRM/AOR Date: November 9, 2007 at 0:26
Aqui mas agresivo y poco agradable este disco que cambio tan radical solo queda nombrar tremendo tema Remember My name & It Aint Love magia corre pura magia en esos dos temas..7/10

From: Grinch Date: November 13, 2008 at 12:12
Good vocals from James Christian.solid songs but this is not one of my favourite albums of this era,but still enjoyable.

From: hair metal again Date: November 2, 2009 at 0:21
2nd release for the mighty house of lords and i think they achieved perfection here.their best sound by far with less keyboards and a more hard rock hair metal approach.this contains their best song and one of all time in hard rock "remember my name",and great hard rockers like"heart on the line" and "laydown staydown".for me it was just shocking listen to this back then and still is....

From: rockhardrock Date: December 4, 2010 at 8:16
i liked their debut album very much and when i heard this one, well it just stayed the same, so here we have another great classic aor/melodic hard rock hard rock album thanks to all this line-up on this record, especially greg giufrria. my faves here:chains of love, can't find my way home, remember my name and kiss of fire.

From: the rocker Date: December 23, 2010 at 11:34
Love this cd as much as any of the others! Remember my name and What's forever for from Demons down are 2 of the best power ballads EVER!!! And the cover of Can't find my way is just awesome!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: March 3, 2011 at 23:04
Ok my comment in english is gonna be presised...a killer one!!!...all the good adjectives about the musicians are already known by all of us so...direct to the songs..."Shoot","Chains Of Love","Heart On The Line","It Ain't Love"(power ballad),"Remember My Name"(beautiful mid tempo) & "Kiss Of Fire"...favorites,favorites,FAVORITES!!!!.95/100

From: Ydol eM Date: November 9, 2013 at 12:36
An excellent album in every aspect. Hard aor rock in pompous style, Whitesnake or first Blue Murder alike. IMO better than the debut but a bit weaker than the next one. Some songs (IMO # 1,2,4,10) can't keep pace as for the highest standard with the others just therefore my rating is "only" -->. 90/100.

From: 123charpenay Date: November 11, 2013 at 14:58
second effort from house of lords and second grandiose hard fm record.top class melodic rock ,and top smart music.sensational singer, exceptional songs for make short a must have.a real dream for fans of hard fm.this band is irresistible.unfortunately no bonus track on the japan import.

From: edwithmj Date: January 11, 2015 at 11:54
I don't know about this one; I've never been able to get into it as there's just far too much filler and the original magic of the debut is missing. The only songs I can take away are Chains of Love, Can't Find My Way Home and Heart on the Line. Average melodic hard rock.

From: aTomiK Date: January 12, 2015 at 6:13
I´m with you edwithmj. Easily the weakest of the original three. Only 3-4 good tunes here but i love Kiss of Fire which used to be my wake up song : )

From: 123charpenay Date: January 12, 2015 at 13:55
me i m not with you edwithmj, sorry.i dream ,you have find some fillers in this extraordinary cd!!!!!!.it s amazing.of course i respect all opinions
