Killer record!

From: Jennifer Date: April 25, 2001 at 11:27
Superb debut from melodic act who are simply fine! Every song on this one is good, 'New Thing' was the hot single. A must for melodic metal-pop fans.

From: Jon Sambora Date: May 7, 2001 at 4:04
That's more for a surf music than a hard rock album...The songs here are so poor and bored... This album sux!

From: Richie BonJorge Date: May 8, 2001 at 19:48
Jon Sambora ir pretty right! I think these guys should have listened Bon Jovi before they try to make surf music as hard rock songs!

From: Mike G. Date: July 30, 2001 at 8:45
You said it Hector!! Enuff Z Nuff absolutely rocks!! They are a very talented band!!!!!!!!!

From: joe Date: January 3, 2002 at 7:23
a few good tracks but your better off getting their next album strenght, nice vocals though, New Thing is great.

From: Drag-in-Bones Date: March 3, 2002 at 18:05
Derek frigo's dad is Johnny Frigo, one of the greatest jazz violinists in the world. He used to play with the Dorseys and stuff--Count Basie, the Marx Brothers. Enuff Z'Nuff's vividly colorful and psychedelic stained hypnotic music is inspired by Sex,Peace and Love,60's melodies with a 90's glam sound.'New Thing' used to be called'Get High on a Blue Thing' but was changed in fear someone would confuse 'Blue Thing' for Valium. This album is one of my fav's!, and to Poser Spirit-Peace Bra!

killer record

I was a little dissapointed with the album at first, but after a couple listens I started to like it a little. I love New Thing and Kiss the Clown.

From: TOBAH Date: August 10, 2002 at 0:20
I never liked these guys, the first time I saw the ' New Thing' Video I tought it was Vixen ,they really looked like Drag Queens, but the song is ok.

From: SleazyMusic Date: September 20, 2002 at 8:50
The Beatles of Hard Rock...this is their better record...Glam with pop influences...Funny record, not too fast, not too hard but if you like melodic rock, this is for you...get hiiiiigh on a new thiiiiing

From: J Scott Date: November 4, 2002 at 17:37
Great first album. Hot Little Summer Girl is a cool track.

From: JASON Date: November 29, 2002 at 13:45
I Love this cd. Vikki Foxx is the coolest drummer!!!!!!

From: rob garcia Date: January 17, 2003 at 19:12
oh yeah!........i remember those were the days......what an album!!.

From: rene Date: January 18, 2003 at 19:59
Best album of this band i think. I remember them on tour with POISON and they kicked some asssssssss. Great Glam rock band.

From: Gar Date: February 17, 2003 at 21:49
Great debut! I don't understand the posts labelling this as 'surf music'. This is completely different. Enuff Z'Nuff should have been the Cheap Trick of the 90s, but they made some bad career moves. I like all of their albums, but the first 3 are my favorites.

From: SPOTLIGHT Date: May 31, 2003 at 16:44
SleazyMusic hit the nail right on the head...The Beatles of hard rock, at least with this release. But, the only problem with having an album this good, people expect you to make it AGAIN and usually, that leads to disappointment. But, E.Z. has had a pretty good career and they've released some pretty fine albums. Get high on a new thing indeed!!!

From: EnufoZnufoSux Date: June 22, 2003 at 18:25
bleargh! Disgusting album! How can some people call this hard rock?? It's a piece of crap! It stinks! Could be worse only if gene freak simmons had written the songs! Grade 0,0!!!

From: King James Date: June 23, 2003 at 12:29
One of the lower-end heavy metal CD's in my collection. It still has some good tunes, though.

From: Tony Date: June 24, 2003 at 17:52
Pretty good debut album that stands the test of time. Came out at a time where EVERY band had those big dumb shout-it-out gang choruses (not that that's bad) so something like this with a bit more subtlety in the songwriting probably flew over your average 'hair' metal fans head. This disc has a great groove throughout and still has suprising depth to it for being released in 89'. Worth checking out again!!

From: John Date: August 6, 2003 at 13:53
'New Thing' is awesome. 'For Now' is my favorite. The lyrics are really cool and it's catchy. I wish Donnie wasn't such a Fvckup.

From: Caralho Duro Date: August 8, 2003 at 6:14

From: Macalé Date: August 13, 2003 at 23:41
Grande Caralho Duro! Estás muy cierto! El cantante es a holy colo de puerco! Esto niem llega a sier piedra... recomiendo algo even mais duro than Juanito Lima, like Esquide Ró, Mótele Cru or algo bien más orientado para adultos adoradores de cosa dura entrando en sus orellas like Diez, Faruarnén or Dirija, Ella dizte.

From: jose Date: October 9, 2003 at 22:21
First time I listened to 'New thing', i couldn't believe tgis was real. The Beatles applied to hard rock! I got astonished, but the rest of this album is sooooooo good that i could never believe a band like this be so good. This one and 'Strength', the best ones. Even more, they are two of the best albums from all rock and roll history. If you like melodies and simple but excellent songs, Enuff Z'Nuff is your band. Perhaps, the best band from last 20 years.

From: Jack Date: November 11, 2003 at 15:48
What a great melodic album! Chip and Donnie were an excellent song-writing team, and Vic Fox was a fantastic showman drummer. Frigo was a pretty good guitarist too.

From: M-one Date: December 10, 2003 at 16:41
I saw them live in a poison tour an they suck they should have never sign this band sorry.....

From: lance1 Date: December 14, 2003 at 1:34
powerful cd and very underrated group.fly high michelle and new thing kick butt.vikki foxx reminds me of tommy lee on the drums, very solid.derick frigo shreds.won best new group that year, they deserved it.

From: carmen Date: December 29, 2003 at 21:01
simple but perfect.

From: Metalhead Date: February 4, 2004 at 20:07
Its very rare for a glam band like this to exhibit maturity especially on their debut album but its what EnuffZNuff showed. It's in the melody, not very much on their lyrics. I love Derek Frigo's playing. Very flashy. He belongs to the list of greats. And the entire bands playing is just right. They're not the greatest but gelled together perfectly.

From: Dean Date: March 8, 2004 at 14:15
To me these guys were glam ONLY in image. This album made a huge impact on me but I could never get into any of the others. I do own several but they never stay in the cd player very long. On this cd everything gelled together perfectly. However- the vid for New Thing was just a little too um.... for lack of a better word..gay. Other than that this cd is awesome. Vintage Beatles rockin' out with vintage Cheap Trick.

From: Mike h Date: May 11, 2004 at 20:51
These guys suck so bad. they are so gay and their songs are annoying as hell. spend your money on something else; don't waste it on these freaks!!!

From: Bryan Date: May 11, 2004 at 22:31
Don't listen to Mike. This is a fabulous album. Incredibly catchy choruses ala The Beatles and Cheap Trick. This debut is very uplifting and emotional, much like all of Enuff Z'Nuff's releases. One of the best debuts in 80's pop metal. Don't hesitate to pick this one up.

From: fallen angel Date: May 27, 2004 at 15:36

6/01/04, 2:10am PDT: Over the weekend, the band announced the passing former member and guitarist DEREK FRIGO.

From: Gabriel Alves Date: June 17, 2004 at 11:57
The best band in the universe and of all dimensions! I don't have words to express how good they are. Beatles meets Led Zeppelin! What more can I say ? Highlights are all songs, from the first one to the last one. The kind of record you listen all songs and when it finishes you still listen to other songs! Don't waste your time readin' it, listen it!!

From: r Date: June 23, 2004 at 5:22
Great album

From: Roxas Date: November 13, 2004 at 23:58
I don't like their sound much but i still bought the first 3 albums. Fly High Michelle is the stand out for me. Still to this day it sounds great. Wonderful song, reminds me of that great little album by Joey C Jones & the Glory Hounds.

From: jeff Date: November 15, 2004 at 4:04

Enuff Znuff is my favorite band - enuff said!

From: gener8tr Date: December 8, 2004 at 12:59
This is a great CD... Unfortuantely it was all downhill from here. Pick this one up, enjoy it, and pretend it was the only one they ever released.

From: Tiger Eyes Date: December 10, 2004 at 12:09
One of my faves.

From: Metalhead66 Date: January 31, 2005 at 13:17
Their best IMO!!!!!!

From: Geoff Date: February 28, 2005 at 19:15
In my opinion, these guys were the only band who really did this kind of thing well. The older type rock with a days-of-old vibe. This is an excellent debut and shines where so many in this style bore. 'Fly high Michelle' is a beautiful ballad, 'For now' is a splendid melodic rocker and 'I could never be without you' is a ballad of legendary status... to me anyway. I love that track, but overall this is a very good disc.

From: swriter Date: April 15, 2006 at 13:54
agree Geoff, noone ever really did well mixing the genres and writing that this band had, great one, New Thing, Fly, great stuff

From: juan carlos Date: February 18, 2007 at 23:42
La voz nunca me gustó, aparte de eso pues me quedo con 2 temas por encima del resto: "For Now" y "I Could Never be Without You". La 3,4,6 y 8 aceptables. 7.5/10

From: rockhardrock Date: March 25, 2007 at 17:09
Their best album ever!!!"fly high michelle"is one of my favourite power ballads-true gem."For now","I Could Never be Without You"are also great ballads-they have very good and very "strange" melodies. They were different than other bands of that era(not just their music but also their dress)."New thing" is great rocker and ofcourse their 10. track is superb. Well done!!!

From: RockMan10 Date: May 29, 2008 at 21:41
This is another band that you either love or hate. I love the early version, didn't care for the later. They lost me after "Seven" but this was a very good debut. A fun disc loaded with vocal and guitar layers and harmonies not heard outside of Styx or Journey but much, much harder rock. Played it ALL the time in '89. 90/100

From: JamesEagle Date: October 22, 2009 at 8:59
Love 'New Thing' and 'Fly High Michelle', but the rest is just quite good. The second album is far better in my opinion.

From: hair metal again Date: January 11, 2010 at 0:51
hair metal masterpiece by ENUFF Z NUFF.this is the magnificent debut of one of the greatest acts of all time.superb performance by the band, excellent production, great songs ,hairy looks and the result is huge.listen to "i could never be without you" one of the best ballads of the genre, the groovy "she wants more",the beautiful "for now" and the hit "new thing".surely a killer and one of my all time favs.thank you ENUFF Z NUFF

From: edwithmj Date: February 8, 2010 at 19:47
Very different from other bands' albums released at the same time. This has a sort of power pop feel to it and is certainly unique. The vocals and the songs seem to fit this style of music perfectly with most of the album being very, very good. The only complaint I have is of the ballad Fly High Michelle which I think is a bit too soft. New Thing and Hot Summer Girl are brilliant songs.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: April 15, 2011 at 14:57
Great Debut!!!...i agree with some comments above(the good ones obviously)especially the one wrote by Dean in 2004 where he said that the Glam of the band was only in their looks because mainly(and is not a secret for anybody who knows the band)they are more towards the power pop sound of Cheap Trick & The Beatles..."New Thing","Fly High Michelle","Hot Little Summer Girl","Little Indian Angel" & "I Could Never Be Without You" are my favourites...recommended album...93/100

From: 123charpenay Date: November 28, 2021 at 20:04
maybe i m stupid but i don t understand this band.i don t understand their music.it s a strange mix......but i respect.............

From: endtimes Date: June 8, 2024 at 13:21
Great songwise pop-rock album, but the mix by Paul Lani is just average (Lani never got the best drum sound, ever). The lead guitarist Derek Frigo, RIP, was a shredder of great technique. Funny how his cool playing, recommended by the label and not Vie/Z'Nuff, made them suddenly get several record label offers. But yes, he was a VERY good player, gone much too soon. And his father, heard on Strength, was a virtuoso too. This I found a great testament to Derek's talent, if any don't get it: Chip Z'nuff: It’s been so many years since Derek Frigo died. Do you miss him? Oh yeah. I think of him every time I listen to the old records.

From: endtimes Date: June 8, 2024 at 13:29
He played on our debut record up to through the 7th record, and Derek had a lot of fans, just a really talented musician, and no one can ever take that away from him. He was one of the greatest guitarists ever, and everyone looked up to him, a real rock star, great looking. Even legends like Eddie Van Halen and Joe Perry, they’ve all acknowledged him! Derek almost played on a Mick Jagger solo album just before EZN got signed. Mick Jagger: "I love Derek, but I don’t know if I can control him.” It was between Derek and Joe Satriani. A lot of rock fans totally forget, or don't at all know about Derek Frigo or EZN, but being up against a "guitar god" like Satriani is beyond HUGE. A very cool story, nicely shared by Chip.
