| I'll never understand why this one didn't make a big impact on the charts. It's full of catchy, melodic metal that was so popular then. Check out "Gonna Make You Mine." It easily could have been a top 10 hit. A great record overall.

| Several great songs on this record. It could have been a big seller but here's another one that American radio chose to ignore in favor of Journey, Night Ranger, Loverboy, and others. Excellent overall.

| This is a great album as was the one before it, Assault Attack with Graham Bonnett. Not sure why it was left off of this sight, but none the less this one with Assault Attack were awesome.

| This is an awful album. MSG were on the verge of disintegrating and it shows. I saw them live on this tour and it was awful too.

| While impressed with the album, I must state that the re-mixed single of Rock My Nights Away, with its "radio-friendly" insertion of incredibly wimpy keyboards reeked of a sell-out... It sounded like some shitty dance track, intended to wow the chowderheads frequenting the clubs in search of happy feet... That's a pity, too, because the album version remains a favorite track to this day...

| Melodic hard rock at it's best. Could have easily hit radio had it been "discovered". This is a great recording. The instrumental "Captain Nemo" is awesome; its final section really conjures up the feeling of the sea. I really like the way Michael changes the tonal character of the guitar for different sections of some of his guitar solos. Michael's solo say something musically unlike other guitarist who throw a bunch of riffs together.

| Chrysalis Records is to blame for not throwing proper promo on "Built to Destroy", "Assault Attack", or ANY Schenker record for that matter! Chrysalis or not, this is a shitty record. About 30% of this is good. Probably because it was leftover from the "Assault Attack" sessions. Graham Bonnett was a good vocal for Schenker. Imagine him singing "Red Sky"... To me this lp comes up lacking much but I'm tickled that many of you like it!

| Yeah.. this was the best album cover MSG had. However, the album itself was a letdown. Barden's return as vocalist was a welcome one, but the songs he is forced to sing are second rate at best. It was a half hearted stab at a more commercial direction(no doubt they were hoping for more American success). While not a complete waste, a potential buyer would be wise to buy the first 2 MSG albums before even considering this one.

| I wish Michael had been smart enough to make a few more records with Mr. Bonnet. I like Gary's work too, but Bonnett's great vocals were perfect for Schenker's wailing axe. Somebody, PLEASE put 'Assault Attack' up onhere!

| The ORIGINAL European mix smoked the subsequent American re-mix. 5 of the original mix songs have been added to a re-release. "Still Love That Little Devil" with Barden singing is Far superior to Derek's version. Hopefully the entire original mix will be re-released!

| I'd forgotten just how good this album truly is! Please do yourself a favor, however, and get the Japanese reissue with the 5 original mixes that were altered on the original US CD pressing. One of the great "Class of 1983" CD's.

| Just got the 2 disc version that features both English and American mixes-Sorry guys the English mix wins hands down -harder and sharper on the guitar.

| Yes, the english version is harder and heavier. I like the US version too very much. This is just a great album, one of the best albums that came out in 1983.

| Can't say this release is as cohesive as the first 2 studio Schenker albums, but it does have it's moments. Something is surely different here. Maybe the overdriven keyboard influence with the lack of Cozy's heavy drum sound make most of these songs sound uneven & patchy overall.

| excellent release once again by MSG and in this one the band really wrote some catchy songs and tried a more commercial sound that i really like!Barden voc s are fine and Michael s solos not so long!"i m gonna make you mine","rock my nights away","walk the stage" and "still love that little devil " are excellent songs!i really love hard rock music

Yeah this is one good album indeed!!!...Melodic Hard Rock with a bit of an edgy feel  ...best cuts for me are 1,3(AORish),6 & 7...86/100
