Cripes I LOVE this cd!! Worked in a record store at the time and I think we maybe sold 2 copies. What a travesty. Rowan Robertson is just incredible here and I think Ronnie does his best singing on here than on any Dio album. Would have been nice if Rowan could have stuck around to see where they could have gone. Underrated cd that deserves a second chance.

I agree. This was a good album. Still some of the songs are a bit slow for my tastes. But Rowen was a fabulous guitarist. Too bad Dio didn't keep him long and he went nowhere after that, except to tour with Jon Crosby with VAST. This was the best Dio album between, Dream Evil and Killing the Dragon though.

Rowan was a guitar prodigy, to play the way he did on this album was collossal, I wish I could play guitar like that. I think they were some strong points in the album.... but overall some things were lacking, like slow songs and foolish consistency.

Bajón bastante acusado en este disco, parece como sin ideas, los temas mas rápidos son bastante del montón y los lentos son insulsos y pastosos.MEDIOCRE.

Rowan Robertson is now in a band called AM Radio which I would classify as college/alternative pop music. I listened to a couple of their songs and it's pretty boring stuff. I figured Rowan would be a guy who would have kept rocking after Dio but I guess you gotta pay the bills. Lock Up The Wolves was too slow, but it certainly showed Rowan's talent and it would have been nice to hear what he would have done on a follow-up album.

Around the mid 90's Rowan was supposed to be forming a band with Robert Mason(LYNCH MOB). I don't think anything ever came of it though. LOCK UP THE WOLVES is a prety good album. The complete lineup change was a little jarring at the time, but they managed to keep the classic Dio sound. This one is a step down from the first 4 Dio albums, but its still a good listen.

Rowan did not work with "Robert Mason", you have the wrong Lynch Mob singer. He worked with the mighty "Oni Logan" in the band "Violets Demise" who has their album shelved by Atlantic in approx 1993. The CD was finally released under the name "Logan/Robertson Revisited" and it is the best album OF ALL TIME!!! Get it at www.onilogan.com

Ooops! You're right. I was thinking of the wrong Lynch Mob singer. My bad.

Now for certain, Dio has run out of ideas. All the tracks except for "Wild One" show the band going through the motions. You can tell that Dio bringing in a whole new backing band probably caused the songwriting to suffer in the process. This album scarred me away from his next couple of albums. 5/10

It pains me to say this, but i couldn't stand this one. Slow moving and mediocre. Never cared for Rowan'on guitar. Theres a reason RJD rarely plays any of Wolves' material live' . ---

Grande album! Al tempo la critica lo trattň in maniera ingiusta: una grandissima formazione al servizio di mitiche canzoni come "Wild One", "Born On The Sun", la title Track e sopratutto "Why Are They Watching Me", ovvero la canzone piů graffiante mai composta dal mio idolo.

This one was ok, but hard to follow up that last one. Still, Dio's throat never dies.

I did own this disc once. I thought it was musically very good, but I have never been and will never be a fan of Dio. I'm guessing he's quite good at what he does judging by his reputation, but I personally never liked his voice or the straight forward (and to me, boring) hard rock approach. Nothing stood out for me so I sold this.

I recently bought a CD copy of this one after having a cassette for many years (which I hardly ever played). This short-lived Dio lineup delivered a decent but unspectacular disc that has a couple of bright moments ("Hey Angel" is awesome) but overall doesn't really blow anyone's doors off. A similar problem occurred with 2004's MASTER OF THE MOON... again, an OK album but nothing to scream about. Then again, even mediocre Dio is better than no Dio.

I've only heard the title track and didn't like it very well. From the above comments I don't think I would like the rest of the tracks very well either.

I really could't get into this cd at all. I still own it but only because it is part of the collection. Nothing really ROCKS on this cd IMO.

First I couldn't stand it, if somebody asked me in the 90's about this one I would have said: No, I don't really like, today I have a different opinion about it. Maybe back then we idealized, Holy diver, The Last in line, Dream evil, Sacred Heart...
