While I've owned several Lizzy Borden releases through the years, this is by far my favorite."Me Against the World", "Eyes of a Stranger",and "Visual Lies" are the finest from this melodic metal ass-kicker!

From: Kim hp Date: October 13, 2003 at 20:49
Yep, this is probably my favorite Lizzy Borden albm. "Me Against the World" is a kick ass tune!

From: poison arrow Date: October 14, 2003 at 8:50
One of my all time favourite albums. There are some killer cuts here - 'Me Against the World' ranking highest, and 'Voyeur' being another particular fave of mine, but really every song is great!! Without a doubt this is Lizzy Borden's finest moment.

From: Scandinavia Date: October 14, 2003 at 12:56
Yes, this one is more like it...Good production & excellent musicianship..."Eyes Of A Stranger" must be my fave track from Lizzy & Co.

From: Metal T Date: October 24, 2003 at 21:57
This is a kick-ass record! Features the guitar work of 'Joe Holmes who would later have a short stint in 'Ozzy's band.Well,i still prefer 'Joe Holmes over that noisy 'Zakk Wylde any day !

From: Metalhead Date: December 10, 2003 at 20:50
One of my all time fave. Great musicianship. Great melodies. They finished up this album with the over-the-top Vision.

"Voyeur" "Eyes of a stranger" and of course "Me Against the World" were awesome. Anyone else remember that cheesy movie Black Roses?

From: Dean Date: January 23, 2004 at 18:32
Joe Holmes better than Zakk? Um- I don't know about that but one thing is for sure-Ozzy doesn't pick bad guitarists no matter how out of it he gets. Anyone have any boots with Joe on them?

From: Fat Freddy Date: January 24, 2004 at 15:19
Dean -- I remember that cheesy movie "Black Roses" quite well, in fact I've been trying to find a copy on video for years now... as far as "metal horror" movies go, "Trick Or Treat" is far superior, but "B.Roses" was simply so bad it's good. It would make for a great cheesy double feature with "Kiss Meets The Phantom Of The Park!"

From: Dean Date: January 24, 2004 at 16:41
I got the soundtrack for that movie on cassette and some of the tunes are really good. Good luck finding it though. Yeah Trick or Treat is def. better but it would still be cool to add to my "so cheesy they're cool" collection of movies. "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" and "Dudes" were a couple more.

I remember waiting for this to come out and I could not believe how bad it was. Everything before this was great and their popularity faded away after this one.

Great Lizzy Borden album!!! Fantastic production for the year 87, great melodies and voice, maybe the guitars are not as well as voice , but even that great album.Nowadays is a special edition remastered and with some bonus. If you like melodic metal, buy it.

From: onemorecast Date: March 28, 2007 at 11:54
Lizzy was just another one of the second tier LA bands that couldn't get a big hit and a killer album to put them over the top. Lizzy could certainly scream with the best of them.

in my huge cd collection,,this is in my top 10 albums,,,just a pure Amazing CD,,,,Lizzy Rulezzzzzzzzzzzz

From: visitor Date: May 20, 2020 at 19:01
Holy crap, this album is amazing! I only recently found this band. I've always known that it exists, but ever since seeing some wild pictures of the band when I was a teenager I always suspected that the music would be too raw for my taste. Boy am I glad that I finally gave it a shot (I'm 43 now)..! To be fair I was blown away immediately, and Lizzy's vocals took a little getting used to. But I gave it some time and now I can't get enough of this album. I don't own many albums that I can honestly say have absolutely no fillers, but this is definitely one of them. There's not a single track on this album that I want to skip. I like their previous rougher albums as well, and Master of Disguise has its great moments, but Visual Lies is like the perfect combination of melodic heavy metal with an edge and a slightly more polished and clear production without becoming too commercial. What a treat to find "new old" music at this age from my favourite genre! Bravo Lizzy Borden!

Damn, meant to say that I WASN'T blown off immediately...
