Good Hard Rock/MHR! "Death Comes Tomorrow & Caged in" best tracks IMO, 75/100. |

“This is the best record I have ever written for Lillian Axe,” says lead guitarist Steve Blaze. That’s a bold statement considering the amount of music Lillian Axe has produced during its eventful career (from their website). As a long time Axe fan, I'm interested to check this out and with a new lead singer. |

After listening to this one, Steve Blaze's updated statement should be this is the best Lillian Axe record of 2012. This band has been flat-lining for years and now it's official (D.O.A.). This release is light years away from their 15 minutes of fame roots in the late 80's in which I liked a handful of their tunes. Try before you buy with this lame lyric, prog inspired snooze fest with their latest new uninspired singer. Put a fork in them, their done, for quite some time now. |

I dunno but always thought the more mature and darker direction of Psycho outclassed anything else the Axe had released up until that point so have been quite taken by the recent material from em, while an acquired taste no doubt Lillian continue to deliver classy material XI is as at least the best of the recent bunch! The new throat fits perfectly but songwise I'm still shaking my behind (albeit it slow and unattractively) to The Great Divide which is to my ears the album's golden egg and exactly what I want to hear from a 2012 Lillian Axe. But each of the first 4 tunes are grand, borderline epic, each bending and winding their way through melodies a plenty, each a winner and alone worthy of your coin. Bow your head the only ballad and probably the most 'old' Lillian here. The vast arrangements and epic nature of the material on offer could easily be lost on casual listeners as it does require repeats, but for those who embraced both the old and new Axe this is rewarding! Rating 9/10 |

Some rock/metal/glam fans refuse to grow. They refuse to evolve. They clutch to the sounds of 1985 and damn anything with any breadth and vision beyond the 80s. i am NOT one of those fans. This album spreads its wings and flies beyond the cliched past. Great pipes, great songs. Thanks, guys! |

A first listening yesterday, made me think of Muse and Queen, not unlike Robbie Valentine's heavier moments. Interesting, it 'll have to grow from here. |
