As with the debut, a long overdue release on cd, and another high class brit aor album that every aor fan should add to their wants list. Maybe not up to the rediculously high standards of the debut, but with a polished Kevin Elson production and a top quality set of songs, this is way above most releases of the genre.

'Push' was another underrated effort, smooth AOR with Kevin Elson at the helm. Some wonderful material abounds on that effort too. The sound was slightly different than the first, a more mature approach taken. However, as history shows, the people at Atlantic were less than accommodating, hoping instead for a continuation of the material from the debut, hence Virginia Wolf were denied any chance of a continued record deal.

Another good one - great AOR band I really quite enjoy these two CDs.

Geoff,Now you are talking quality, this is purely from me with no outside prompting,as you hinted at earlier.....

Never reaches the high standards set by the debut, but certainly didnt justify the band getting dropped from their label. Dont Break Away is a classic song, laden with great guitars, classic keyboards and a hook big enough to catch sharks. Reccomended. 7.5/10

Like the S/T this album had 2 songs that I consider worth mentioning. If you were to remove 'Open Door' and 'Let It Go' the album would be kind of dull like the first one. For me, both albums just seem to be 'okay' and nothing more. Not necessarily a bad album, just does not spark my interest or grab my attention.

Second and last work from this great AOR band. With Chris Ousey on vocals you can't go wrong, his voice is without any doubt one of the best of the genre! Don't miss these two gems, it's not easy to find songs like 'livin' on a knife edge' and 'standing on the edge of time'...Merry christmas!

STANDING ON THE EDGE OF TIME - Otra d las Grandes sin duda, podria

Outstanding record!! It is similar to Airrace but bear in mind that the songs are much more worked. The keys are very variated and the singer injects a lot of attitude, especially because his voice sounds more like the ninetees rather than the 80´s. Personally, I prefer this to the first one. 9/10.

Not as GREAT as Brilliant, as unique, as memorable, as characteristic, as strong, as the first but an excellent AOR album that sounds great even 20 years later...Someone could say that this one sounding more 'mainstream'. This album is more mainstream AOR. The first one drives you madly sometimes with the explosive production and the power of Chris' voice. Anyway, own both of them and you won't lose! 89/100 (for historical reasons. My rating is approximately between 80 & 83/100)

I think this is a masterpiece!!!...hardly a filler in here (if there is some).A great voice with passion done by Mr Ousey and not 2 leave outside the talented Jason Bonham on drums."Don't Break Away"(amazing opener),"One Night"(smooth),"Man In The Moon"(one of those ballads that you can listen endlessly),"Let It Go"(rock),"You Don't Know What You've Got"(catchy)& "Tables Have Turned"(the best at least 4 me).Anyway if you see this cd or vinyl(like i do)do not think it twice 2 buy it!!!.95/100

An OK album but I'm afraid nothing more. Good songwriting, hit songs are absent though. The production fits that era, the vocals are the best spot and...what else? I do not know when I'll give the vinyl a spin again.

fantastic hard rock release for VIRGINIA WOLF ,a great band from the UK!it seems that there were many fine bands at the time there that delivered that lighter sound with the mid 80 s vibe !well Chris s vocs are outstanding ,the songwriting is excellent and the production smooth and polished!"don t break away","standing on the edge of time","man in the moon' and "tables have turned' are the highlights and overall i d say that this is equal with their wonderful debut

Both VW-albums are brilliant in my book. Have the first on a cd-reissue and this one on vinyl. Two AOR-dreams!
