| I didn't like this CD when it first came out. The more I listened the more ashamed of myself I became. The first 8 songs are full of melody and in in-your-face Rock n' Roll. I would love to see a KIX reunion. If you've never seen them live, you missed out on one of the best performances of a band. Recommended to buy!!

| David, I am totally with you--I couldn't have said it much better. This is one of my favorite albums of all-time and the title-track "Hot Wire" is one of my favorite rockers of all time. The talent that Kix exuberated on this record is fantastic. The same goes for the production--Taylor Rhodes was an excellent co-writer AND producer. And I could not leave without saying--Kix come back!! We need you! With their straight-ahead AC/DC hard rock influence & talent, Kix could rock like no other.

| I've always been a great AC/DC fan, and so I wanted to find any other band playin' more or less a similar style. I discovered Kix just a year ago, but I now own their complete discography. When I first heard "Hot Wire", it just blew me away! This is THE hard rock'n'roll album of the '90s, songs like the title track, "Bump The La La", "Luv-A-Holic", "R'n'R Overdose" and "Pants On Fire" are true killers. Too bad they split up some year later... Don't miss this cd!

| Another great album from Maryland's finest. I never really thought they sounded that much like AC/DC, but it's great sleazy hard rock all the same. You gotta love Steve's vocals. The last two tracks are a bit weak though.

| Bump The LALA is awesome, Liar, Liar, Hot wire, etc all songs on this album kick ass. I like Blow my Fuse a little bit more, but this album is definatly a must have for any rock fan. And also if you like this album, you would also like Show Business from 1995, It sounds very similar to this album, and Kix never sold out their fans so dont worry about it sounding grunge, it rocks!!

| This is a pretty good album by KIX. I like "Same Jane" and "Tear Down The Walls." Some songs on here remind me of old KIX albums. Songs like "Bump The La La" and "Hee Bee Jee Bee Crush." This album came out in 1991 and that year was about the last chance any rock band had of selling an album. After that rock music couldn't be about having fun anymore. It was all about hating yourself. Thanks alot Nervana!............................. Assholes!!

| This is a perfect continuation of "Blow My Fuse". One more SUPER record. The songs extremely fit live performances. KIX made excellent party-rock, great fun to listen. But be sure that personal talents of the band members were even beyond. In my opinion, KIX should also release more albums in the latter half of 1990s. Because they had a group of fan of their own who can easily stand against grunge domination. I remember "Cold Chills" from Wayne's World, a sweet memory...

| If I were to arrange all the Kix albums from favorite to least favorite, this would probably come in third, behind Midnite Dynamite and Blow My Fuse. A good album to be sure, but it seems that some of the songs ("Rock 'n' Roll Overdose," "Cold Chills") don't quite stick as well as those on the previous two albums. | Fizzy One-- I'm a little surprised at you. What about the title-track on 'Hot Wire', man? This album is killer from beginning to end. And Werman's production could have used a good deal of spiffing up on 'Blow My Fuse'--he robbed Kix's sound of the raw-energy they have. Check out Taylor Rhodes' perfect sound production and mix on 'Hot Wire', on the other hand. Kix peaked in '91. Yeah, "Don't Close Your Eyes" has more staying power than "Tear Down..", but 'Hot Wire' Is where its at.

| Dokken, I agree with you that the guitars sound fuller on Hot Wire than the rather scrappy sound on BMF. I think I mentioned "Hot Wire," sometime after the 500th character, as that was one of my first posts on this here site. the Fizz Picks: "Hot Wire," "Girl Money," "Tear Down the Walls," "Bump the La La," and "Same Jane."

| Fizz, you're right, man. Ronnie's Les Paul really blazes on 'Hot Wire'. GOD DAMN! I still can't get over how fuckin' much I love the title-track or how much credit I owe THIS one album for really getting me into hard rock. Def Leppard and Poison brought me into the whole pop-metal/glam genre along with Danger Danger, but it wasn't until I had listened to Kix's live album and 'Hot Wire' to realise how awesome this shit is. I can never thank Kix enough.

| Great album! It rocks hard! Good memory from this album: getting to see the band play live when I least expected it. Bad memory: playing 'Tear Down The Walls' after an ex broke up w/ me 2 years after the album's release. The damn song still sends chills down my spine, but I've always loved it.

| I think "Tear Down the Walls" was an even better ballad than "Don't Close Your Eyes". When I first heard "Tear Down..." on the radio I was only a casual Kix fan at the time, but I liked the song so much I raced out and bought the album. HOT WIRE is such a strong album that I wound up buying the entire Kix collection because of it.

| With Hot Wire, Kix firmly established itself as one of THE best hard rock band that reigned in the 80s. The band has found the secret of writing and playing great rock & roll songs that many of their peers don't know of. It is just the steady, heavy-as-a-rock rhythm coupled with great energy.

| MetalHead...to each his own..that you like Kix is enough for me..BUT IMO Midnite Dynamite WAS the album for KIX...the title track alone was/is still a KILLER tune..Walkin Away...an eerie GREAT sounding tune..IMO this album is where they really made a name for themselves...Blow My Fuse also was very good...a little more poppy sounding but good...sad but when I saw them on tour for Blow My Fuse they didnt do either tune...nevertheless a great band...Quote the WidoMakr....never more

| I have 'Midnite Dynamite' on vinyl and it's a good album, but I think that 'Blow My Fuse' was their "break-through" album. IMO, it's their best and one of the best albums from the late '80's.

| The third in a fine series of hard releases from this band. Foot-stomping, air-guitaring bliss. I really like it, it should have done better but the scene was changing (and record companies didn't help our metal heroes!). Another nod for 'Bump the La-la', and 'heebee jeebee crush', as well as 'liar, liar'. Good stuff!

| The band plays to its strengths on this one--tight arrangements, good vocals, catchy choruses... All in all a really good party album. Personal faves are Cold Chills, Same Jane and Pants on Fire (Liar Liar). As an aside, the band also laughs off any AC/DC comparisons with a nod to Bon Scott's vocal "stylings" on Girl Money. A good addition to any hard rock library.

| I love 'Girl money' - great catchy melodic hard rock song, and the ballad 'Tear down the walls' is the other highlight for me. Aside from that, this is good solid hard rock.

| From the look of the cover i thought this was gonna be a classic. Instead they are trashy songs with no melody. Maybe I'm wrong but this didnt do anything for me except make me turn it off. Spend your money somewhere else...

| Saw Kix live in support of this gem. The show rocked, although not very well lit (get this, I saw them play at an amumement park in Western MA). Bump the la-la, Girl Money and Tear Down The Walls are my faves. The rest isn't too bad either.

| This was for me their best album I guess!! I dunno It's hard to pick a fave Kix album. All the songs are just so catchy yet rock! There always seems so much happening on Kix releases great backing choruses/chants..great guitar riffs...superb singer/frontman .. killer songs the band had it all for this kind of genre and yet kinda got overlooked then grunge raised it's cynical dull head and the record labels went out signing every miserable tosser they could find and cool bands got dropped!

That one sure kix ass!!!Their influnce was AC/DC-sorry to say that but the rezors edge which was released a year before just cant stand next to that one."girl money"and"same jane" are true gems of hard rock history. Hooks and singalong choruses everywhere, and as high-spirited as ever. My favorites: "Hot Wire," "Girl Money," "Tear Down The Walls" and "Same Jane." They're all good songs, really.

| sometimes my favourite kix album is hot wire and some other time blow my fuse.nevertheless this album rocks-it kicks!!! Steve's voice is superb. if someone says they are ac/dc clone band,he/she lie. they are't clones, they are kix. | This CD kicks all kinds of rock n' roll ass. Every song is packed to the bursting point with red-hot hooks, pedal-to-the-metal energy, choruses that are catchier than an STD at a Bangkok gangbang, and all the gang backing vocals you would expect from a party-hearty hard rock album. Kix came wired for sound on this CD, and that sound is sensational.

| Lurking out there in the dark corners of cyberspace, you can find a set of demos from the Hot Wire sessions. THey include the ten songs that eventually made it on the album in essentially the same shape as the album, but obviously with a rough, raw (but extremely listenable) sound that makes most songs heavier, thanks in part to an almost Queensryche-like bass tone from Donnie Purnell--I mean this is serious rumbling. But of most interest to the Kix superfans like me are the ten non-album songs also in the set. These include several that would go on to make Funny Money records in the future ("Can't Take The Heat," "Good Boy Gone Bad," "Bad Luck," "Dry Eyes Cry") and "Fireballs" which wound up on Show BUsiness. And then there are five songs that never made any records: "Animal Crackers," "Cta 'n' Dogs," "Circles Of Love," "Fire Engine" (which also appears on a similar demo collection from the Blow My Fuse period as well as some live bootlegs) and 'Stone's Throw Away."

| Having said all that, and much as I love the finished product, I have to wonder if they realy thought some lesser songs like 'Pants On Fire" and"Hee Bee jee Bee Crush" were really the pick of the litter. Because I think if some of this unused material had made the album, we might have us a 90+ rating. Whiteman has made it well-known that Purnell didn't want to use the other guys' songs, so that might be part of the reason. But listening back to some of this stuff, I'm left to wonder what could have been.

Pulled this one out from the collection and have been listening to it all week. Goes without saying for songs Hot Wire, Girl Money and Tear Down the Walls, but Luv-a-Holic and Bump the La La, are so good, too. Earworms!
