The band's 1st album after losing Rob Rock proves one thing--they need to get Rob. After a string of killer melodic metal feasts like 'Screaming Symphony,' 'Eye of the Hurricane,' & 'Crunch,' this release sounds subpar. Sure, Chris Impellitteri can still shred with the best, but Graham Bonnet is no match for Rock's vocals. Rob's presence is also missed in the lyric department, with banality replacing the intelligence of past CDs. Bottom line, this time around, X does not mark the spot.

i really enjoyed the return of Graham to Impellitteri.Rob is very good, but Graham is one of the best rock vocalists ever, plus the fact that imp had releases many albums with Rob and a change was needed(imo).Anyway, all songs are killers, the vocals are perfect,i gave it a 9.5.One of my favorites cds of 2002

Impellitteri hit back again, with a huge Gravedigger feeling plus the guitar skills of Chriss Impellitteri virtuoso.Owns a place on my top ten 2002 releases.Thank god EUROPE STILL ROCKS!...Absolutely No Alternative...

The god Graham Bonnet is back, and this Imp. album blew me away! The vocals are really heavy, something that some ppl didnt like. All songs are killers

From: Geoff Date: September 16, 2005 at 8:49
Man, these are some rough vocals! 'She's a nightime lover' is a cool hard rocker with a killer riff, after the first 3 prove to be almost okay metal tracks, but unspectacular and I'm just not into the vocals. The rest of the tracks are all pretty skippable. The last track, 'Falling in love with a stranger' is decent, with a good melodic chorus after some unique lyrics, but the vocals sound ridiculous singing about love. Overall, not the greatest album I ever heard at all. Good guitarwork though.

Awesome!!! I love Graham Bonnet's vocals and MSG's 'Assault Attack' are one of my all time favourite hard rock albums. This is a pretty aggresive and heavy hard rock album with really good vocals/harmonies. Standout tracks are the Rainbow influenced 'She's a Nightime Lover' and 'Falling In love With A Stranger'. Great stuff!

Vox and Guitar flat out rip !

STAND IN LINE is the better choice of an IMPELLITTERI album with Bonnet on vocals. This is unnecessary!

this cd smokes front to back!! m. allen get a grip, graham bonnet on his worst day smokes rob rock on his best day!!!! this is there best cd buy far!! buy or die!!

From: sharatan Date: February 24, 2009 at 4:32
graham is maybe a semigod, but for me nothing will surpass their first ep with rob. when they had $100 in the pocket equall to maybe a couple of hours in the studio.

From: MadMax Date: January 16, 2011 at 13:05
Bonnet is a disgrace. Good songwriting though, but it's too bad that Rob ain't on this one. Bonnet is having a hard time trying to hit the notes, not to mention his awful croaking throughout the album (like always).

From: rick kerch vzla Date: February 8, 2011 at 12:26
This is a fine album to me but i more or less agree with MadMax's comment about Graham Bonnet..he had his moment with Alcatrazz,Rainbow & MSG but ever since...ummmm...and not to mention his live performances where u can notice his vocal problems..anyway this is only a constructive advice...the best shot in here are "Rock And Roll Heroes","She's A Nighttime Lover"(catchy),"United We Stand"...along with my favorite ones "Perfect Crime" & "Falling In Love With A Stranger"...Chris is awesome in the guitar as usual....as i said,i fine album.89/100
