A great metal release with a great guitarist and a majestic vocalist. Only 4 tracks but it kicks but.

This one is very good, although a bit raw.Imp was 17 then. The best was yet to come

From: Proman1 Date: February 23, 2004 at 2:35
One of the best guitar oriented bands of the time, Chris must have been on some kind of speed steroids, shredding his way through the songs but still creating a very melodic approach that just floors you, an all-out guitar assault that totally satisfies, the vocalist fits perfectly with this style of guitar playing and doesn't miss a beat on any of the tunes. All the songs are worthy of "guitar great" status, the stand out tune is Lost In The Rain, Playing with fire is awesome. forget Eddie....

Chris is a good fast player, and he has some good songs, but just playing fast isn't what makes a guitar player good. If you really want to be a guitar player that is better than every other guitarplayer, you have to be creative, unique and not just fast. That's why Eddie is a much, much better guitar player.

Three speedy metal tracks and a pretty cool metal ballad. I don't like the first 3 tracks and they pass without notice, but I guess the ballad is okay. Guitar fans - pick up, the rest... I think you can give this a miss. Very Malmsteen-ish.

Pues este E.P. me gusta más que el "Stand in Line". Rob Rock la hace muy bien en los vocales y los temas están bien rápidos y bombásticos si cabe el término. Chris sigue con la rapidez en su estilo de tocar que no me va mucho. "Play With Fire" y la melódica "I'll Be Searching" lo mejor del EP. 8/10

From: peter neal Date: April 6, 2008 at 2:51
Not bad, but I prefer "Stand In Line", a more song-oriented direction.

geoff you're completely wrong my man. jaysus! of course this is pure heavy metal mayhem and actually it doesn't belong to that part of database.still this is my ultimate fave from chris. sheer passion, thirst for music and ispirational from the first note. young, thirsty musicians with only round $100 in the pocket, according to chris, which gain them a couple of studio hours and came with this ep! 87 was so fucking great year for extraterrestial guitarists. chastain's instrumental variations, joey tafolla's out of the sun, vinnie moore's mind's eye, macalpine's maximum security, impellitteri's ep etc etc etc....eternal hails to mr.varney and his label....all hail chris!

excellent debut ep for young Chris Impellitteri with a fine performance offering 4 commercial metal songs with that neo classical style ,high tone with strong melodic lines!Rob Rock sounds great and that one is a must have
