This one is next to impossible to get. Starts out lackluster but builds as it goes along. 'Love Somebody' is great! Sounds like Stephen Pearcy singing for Dokken. Most of it sounds like a dirtier Def Leppard with hints of Cry Wolf and Dirty Rhythm.

David, I'm just using close comparisons- not exact. Imagine Def Leppards b-sides. It's not like those bands' best material. Only a few songs are worth hearing.

I only have a cdr of St. Warren David and it doesn't have all the info I need to submit it. I didn't like it well enough to buy an original.

This rarity ain't awesome enough to cast a spell over you, but most melodic hard rockers would be happy with it. It's not much of a stretch to compare this to early Warrant, especially since the song 'Long Tall Baby Doll' rips off the riff to 'Cherry Pie.' A few tracks falter, but overall, this is pretty good stuff, superior to many of the so-called 'gems' out there. So, it may not make you blow your load, but you'll probably feel at least a little tingle...

I can't believe I found this! Kelly (guitar player)and I were friends since age 9, graduated from the same school, and played together in some earlier bands before he joined ELI. He was always an extremely gifted guitar player, playing blazing riffs. The last band we were in together had a similar line-up (vocalist, guitar, bass, drums, keyboards). I would love to get ahold of this CD!

Killer, from start to finish in my book! Extremely rare, also worth mentioning is their 2nd cd called BEWARE OF THE DOG, (yes I will submit it Tim! LOL) I was told their 2nd cd was not too good, I am here to tell you, otherwise, probably not as good as push it hard, but better than alot of other bands best cd's! get em both, if you can find them. 2 of my favorite cd's in my entire collection!!!!!!!!!

Oh wow. This thing is great! This is probably one of most sought after cds I am looking for. I would defiantly like to hear Beware of the Dog...I have the cdr to this, however havingt the original would be awesome......I will pay top dollar for this cd. This and Concrete Jungle are probably the only cds that I would shell out this much money for. 10/10

Damn. It does not get much better than this for indies. Great hard rock. Hooks, drums and killer vocals this one has it all. Did I mention that these boys could right a song? Actually they can write several as there is not a filler in this bunch. The Cry Wolf. Dirty Rhythm comparisons are spot on. This is awesome party rock. Good luck finding it but settle for a cdr if you can as you need this one in your collection. Not just to have it but to crank it on a regular basis.

Got to admit I definately prefer 'Beware of the dog', but there's something about this band I really like. Musically awesome, and this guy has a great voice!!! At times, there is almost a Mats Leven feel to it. The first 3 tracks are all well played, but pretty average hard rockers. 'Never been loved' is an awesome ballad, 'One more drink' is a great fun hard rocker, 'Do you in' is also great, as well as the closer 'Lonely in love'. Even the 'average' tracks sound good though. Recommended band.

just to let you guys know, the producer john kurtzweg that produced this cd later did the creed and puddle of mud cds. this eli cd was the first real rock project he did. he is a incredible talent. the drummer on this cd has played with tommie lee, motley crue, and his new band is dark new day.

Managed to find the retrospect re-issue of this a while ago, paid quite a pretty penny for it,but for me it was well worth it,had heard it before on a cd-r and it blew me away that A:i'd never heard em before & B:these guys weren't HUGE!!! as aMetalhead1966 pointed out there is more than a fair share of tesla mixed with the already mentioned bands(def lep etc) from self titled opener to end track "lonely in love" i love this whole cd.The power ballad "never been loved" would have been a BIG HIT if released in the late 80's or indeed by bigger band like leppard or bon jovi, and i just love the track "one more drink" makes me wanna do just that,a real party tune 96/100
