Excellent female-fronted melodic hard rock feat the beautiful sisters, Paula & Pam Mattioli (hailing from Florida - USA). Formerly they released the mega-rare & awesome AOR album called "GYPSY QYEEN". The Matiolli sisters were (more or less) discovered by AEROSMITH producer Jack Douglas, who's also responsible for their record deal. Five years after the GYPSY QUEEN record, they suddenly appear with a new record under the name "CELL MATES". The band also has a whole new lineup (now featuring Thom

...rest of review:The band also has a whole new lineup (now featuring Thom Panunzio, Kim Bullard, Mike Stone, Jimmy Z & a bunch of sessionists. The record, entitled "Between Two Fires" was released in 1992 on the Scotti Bros. Label and features soem delicious AOR tunes in the vein of Vixen, Heart & Private Life. PRODUCERS: Richie Wise & Thom Panunzio

could of been a cool cd,too bad it wasn't.to me,bottle of sin is the only reason to hear it,if you can find it.the long, long, long awaited follow-up the this cd was finally released,i believe sometime in the last 2-3 years(honestly, last year i think but not sure)i was surprised to find it in the used cd bin-still wrapped.

Not a bad album at all. Picture Lorraine Lewis fronting a "Get A Grip" era Aerosmith. "Glass Mountain" is killer stuff on here and there are great melodies throughout. I remember seeing pctures of these sisters when they were known as "Gypsy Queen" so I was expecting this to be cheesy as f#@k. To my suprise they really can sing and the songs are much more musical than I thought going in. Wonder what these sisters are doing now?

this band used to be called gypsy queen.this album had a couple of differant songs on it.

A ok cd, not so killer tracks. So-So!!! Glad I only paid $3.00 for it!!

This cd is full of fillers, all tracks are boring without any personality in writing and playin',IMO.Any remarkable song.Avoid,it's horrible...

These girls also made another record under the name Gypsy queen (Loop records/1997). Very much like Lee Aaron. This was a lot better then the Cellmates disc.

I am into female fronted melodic hard rock and I liked this. I only paid a couple bucks for this one (bought it off the cover alone). These sisters did a pretty good job. I haven't heard any of there early work as Gypsy Queen, but I'm going to try and track it done. If you can find this one cheap, I recommend giving it a try.

From: z4roxx Date: April 26, 2007 at 13:55
Ahaha another terrible comment for myself!!!It's absolute not horrible, now it's pretty good hard rock with some very good song ahahah

Yeah these beauties used to call themselves Gypsy Queen and were more into an edgy rock kinda music...here under the monicker of Cell Mates they played straight melodic rock with a kind of Vixen,Saraya & Femme Fatale vibe in the songs...my favourites are "Bottle Of Sin","Bird In A Gilded Cage","Spirit Is Willing"(AORish)& "All Funked Up"...recommended album if you are into the aforementioned bands...90/100

excellent hair metal release by CELL MATES and i m telling this is very very good,it just needs a few spins to get into it!the production is fantastic and the band is quite hard rockin!all the songs are pretty good and especially"glass mountain","bird in a gilded age","(it s close)but it aint love","all funked up"!didnt expect that to be so good

From: 123charpenay Date: August 3, 2017 at 11:29
the mattioli s sisters have the same voice than lorraine lewis from femme fatale.cell mates plays a same kind of american hard rock than femme fatale.but the result is not extraordinary even we can find some good songs in this record.the whole album is only decent.not more.
