One of my all time favs!!! Great disc, if you can find a good price on it!

From: TIM Date: March 24, 2003 at 6:17
That's the second strong recommendation I've heard for it so I'll definately have to get it. Thanks for helping me get it on here.

From: David Date: March 25, 2003 at 1:48
MButt, can you tell us a bit more about this release? like who they sound like?

From: MButt Date: March 25, 2003 at 6:19
Man I am no good at deciding who this band or any other sounds like. from the cover you would think this was some power metal band, but it is good melodic hair metal, like Trans Am, Tour De Force. but I am not saying they sound just like those two bands, but definatly in that vein, if you like them, you should love this cd! tough to get it cheap but it is available. look on ebay, or ebay.de (germany) its like black n blue nasty nasty, it's out of print but seems to always be available, for a pri

DAVID i think that the best way to describe this band is....imagine the band transit playing german style aor and you get a pretty good picture.i dont know if MBUTT agrees with me on this but their styles are very similar .if you like aor with loads of catchy choruses then this is something you shouldnt avoid at any cost!.i love it and im sure you will to.

From: purrfect-kat Date: September 22, 2003 at 13:02
I didn't know what to think of Karo after one spin but when I gave it a second listen to then I was hooked. . There are some good songs with catchy chorus's such as 'BALL OF FIRE' and 'CALL OF THE WILD'

From: Kim HP Date: December 12, 2003 at 20:48
I've got this on LP and it's really good. Very melodic and catchy songs here.

OHHHHHH!VERY RARE AND GREAT ALBUM ! IT COULD BE DESCRIBED AS MIX BETWEEN FATE,AIRKRAFT & RICK SPRINGFIELD WITH A VOICE SIMILAR TO BRIGHTON ROCK .A CLEAR WINNER OF 80'S

My fav track is Cold Shoulder !!!!!!!!!

From: Kim HP Date: September 19, 2004 at 8:45
The highlights for me are the first 4 tracks, which are perfect melodic rock. Still the entire CD is great. This band reminds me a lot of Craaft in terms of songwriting, production and musicianship. Especially the singers sound very much alike. If you love big, catchy melodic rock then you should defenitely get this CD... it's worth the price!

From: z4roxx Date: December 21, 2004 at 18:17
I GOT IT,AWESOME GERMAN AOR!!SENSATIONAL!!!BUT I LAUGHT ABOUT NAME:KARO IN ITALIAN(BUT WITH 'C')MEANS EXPENSIVE,THAT'S AN INCREDIBLE COINCIDENSE BECAUSE THIS CD IS NOT CHEAP FOR NOTHIN'!!!AH AH AH AH!!!!

From: 9 CHAMPIONS A 1 Date: February 21, 2005 at 15:39

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: March 1, 2005 at 23:46

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: March 1, 2005 at 23:48

From: orietto Date: March 9, 2005 at 18:02

From: orietto bravo Date: March 10, 2005 at 12:55

From: The Dolphin Date: March 17, 2005 at 13:15
Sorry, but the only track that I like on this album is ONE OF A KIND(reminds me scandi aor)

From: Date: April 25, 2005 at 16:44
How many good bands are ruined by crappy accents, here's one. At least the guy from craft can anounciate. Over rated here!

From: orietto Date: April 25, 2005 at 19:27
ooohhh at last someone agrees with me...yeah totally crap accent and over-rated stuff hehehe!

From: Kim HP Date: July 24, 2005 at 13:52
Did you know that Fergie Fredriksen contributed some background vocals on this CD? Cool!

From: SCANDI Date: October 10, 2005 at 8:43
Classic German hard rock with an feel for AOR. Not bad, not bad.. As you know what I like it's no wonder my favourite on this one is 'Still hate to lose'. Epic ballad with lots of pathos but also the riff after the refrain.. WoOOOwwW Other favourites include 'Wanna be loved' & 'Sister, sister'. To go back to the beginning of my review I think compatriots like CRAAFT or ROKO are not too many miles away (I never liked ROKO though..). 8,9/10

From: Erik Date: November 7, 2005 at 11:10
Very very nice surpise indeed. Got my copy today via schmankerl records. Love it. Yep nothing earthshaking indeed but man this is such a catchy , MELODIC ROCK feelgood album. Any fan of melodic rock can add this one without any hesitation to his collection. This is the kind of re-releases we need. Excellent album. 8,7/10

From: Erik Date: November 7, 2005 at 11:27
Another German band i just have to report about is Christian Tolle Project. ( as for some reason i cant add cd's i have to do it this way). Man the guy deliverd a great cd. Although “The Real Thing” only counts ten tracks, the variety in the material is striking. One can say that Mr Tolle has found the perfect balance between AOR, melodic hard rock and (a bit of) westcoast.Catchy songs with lost of power. Yeah a favorite. 8,9/10

From: Erik Date: November 7, 2005 at 11:35
Thats: Christian Tolle Project - The real thing. ( The flow is an absolute crakcer of a song by the way. All songs tho are catchy yet always powerfull ).

From: Erik Date: November 7, 2005 at 11:37
One m ore time. Forgot his website. Thats www.christiantolle.com Listen to the soundbites. And tell me this aint a surprise release indeed .

From: Doctor Glam Date: November 10, 2005 at 21:24
Hey Orietto and all the others who didn t like it, this is one of the BEST german AOR releases ever, dont forget it was in 1988, its a lot better than Craaft s/t Debut and it rocks more than Roko or JOJO,totally awesome, keep listening (C)rap orietto 10/10

From: Geoff Date: November 13, 2005 at 22:42
This gets off to a great start. I don't think it maintains the high starting standard set though. 'Wanna be loved' and 'One of a kind' are melodic gems, 'Still hate to lose' is a mess - awful track, and then 'Sister sister' and 'Ball of fire' again continue the gem standard. Unfortunately after number 5 it's all pretty average and forgettable. Still, 4 great tracks is a decent effort and the re-issue has an awesome new version of 'Wanna be loved', making it 5! Some nice melodic rock here.

From: z4roxx Date: November 14, 2005 at 13:12
Orietto, you had to hold this piece of awesome aor, really a masterpiece from Germany and one of the best german aor releases ever heard.Fortunately now is available from MTM Classik but I know you want again the megarare orginal one ahahahahah!!

From: Erik Date: November 14, 2005 at 15:20
Good to see we agree again Andrea

From: SCANDI Date: November 16, 2005 at 15:34
Hey Geoff! I like your comments a lot. And though our tastes differ here and there. The ballad "Still hate to lose" is such a gem Try to merge in that song. Maybe you get into.

From: Erik Date: November 17, 2005 at 6:24
Scandi i like your comments a lot also ( as we do have similar taste ) but on this one i am with Geoff. Lol dont like the song either but LOVE this album.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: November 24, 2006 at 17:51
i bought the cd recently as an mtm re-edition with 2 bonus tracks.i must say that this is just an awesome band.the songs are well structured, cachty and overall fm radio-hits!.there is not a single bad song in it.i wonder what are they doing now?.

From: Clayton77 Date: December 6, 2006 at 13:51
It`s a jewel!! I love the song "Still hate to lose" very much too.

From: lalorock Date: January 22, 2007 at 20:30

From: LGBG1978 Date: February 2, 2007 at 19:57

From: LGBG1978 Date: February 2, 2007 at 20:02

From: KurtmanJP Date: June 19, 2008 at 16:32
Very good AOR album. The song "One Of a Kind" reminds me very much of Final Frontier. "Call Of the Wild" is also a great song. Nothing horrible on the album, but I think "Still Hate To Lose" is a pretty awkward ballad.

From: BIG-TIME Date: August 21, 2008 at 8:59
'Sister Sister' and 'Ball of Fire' are my fav's on this but overall a very good German hard rock band, imagine Bonfire and frontline in one! good stuff indeed...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

I've just undusted this gem again and gave it another listening...FANTASTIC!!!...is the only word i could use 2 describe it ...Dan Lucas sounded ala Tony Mills(Shy) in here...plus the guest backing vocals of Fergie Frederiksen on the very good track "Ball Of Fire" makes it even more of an appealing record...another hot shots are "Wanna Be Loved","One Of A Kind","Sister Sister"(great chorus!)& "Nobody's Fool"..the re-edition of the album brings the song "Wanna Be Loved" in 2 different versions(2005 version & acoustic)...get it a.s.a.p.!!!.97/100
