| If you want something different than the usual Scorps this is different. It's got some great guitar with Michael Schenker. Better than any guitar by the later scorps but not as good lyrics and song writing as the later scorps.

| THE BEST album by the Scorps. PERIOD. It's got some of Michael Schenker's most passionate playing (I've been a Schenker fan for 20+ years). Not blinding speed like some of his MSG stuff but it still delivers. Some of the album IS SLOW as rater #1 alluded to, but well worth the wait just to hear the leads. I'd LOVE to hear another Michael Schenker/Scorpions reunion (a la 'Love Drive' not to forget 'Fly to the Rainbow')

| The guitar work may be cool but the songs are bad!! The production also is very dated (granted the album is 30 years old). The only track on this worth mentioning is 'in search of...'

| With all due respect, the songs are NOT bad, and WHO CARES ABOUT THE PRODUCTION!!! The guitar playing totally ROCKS; extremely passionate playing. That's why one listens to the Scorpions anyway! 'It All Depends' has to be the HIGH POINT of the album, and to think Michael Schenker was a mere...16 when this was recorded!

| Not that bad. Michael Schenker plays some mean guitar in this. However, the songs are like psychedelic rock. I believe the term is "Kraut rock".

| Not a bad debut effort from the Scorpions at all although it may come across as initially off-putting to those who are accustomed to their more commercial, melodic hard-rock albums of the eighties. Song structures are a little rough around the edges however there are some strong musical moments to be found here. Also noteworthy as this is the only album in full that Micheal Schenker plays lead guitar on and he accounts for himself well at the young age of sixteen; not as technically masterful as his later works of course but good for what it is. Favorite songs here are Leave Me, Action, and Inheritance. In Search of the Peace of Mind has a soothing acoustic melody also. There is a certain home-grown songwriting--or without other business influences--that I can appreciate. 75/100

| The Scorpions debut is mainly a showcase for Michael Schenker's impressive guitar work, while overall, the band has a psychedelic vibe similar to what Deep Purple, Jefferson Airplane, and other bands of the era were doing at the time. It's not bad, it's just a long way from the band who would eventually rock us like a hurricane.

| Totally agree, Whiplash. "In Search of the Peace of Mind" is about the only decent tune on this one, IMO.
