Probably the best Lizzy CD ever. Never been a big fan of this band but this is good hardrock.

From: Great Dane Date: April 1, 2003 at 19:58
Nope Freddy. This is a good release, but Chinatown, Live And Dangerous, Renegade, Jailbreak, Bad Reputation, Johnny The Fox, and especially Black Rose are far better. Sure this release has 3-4 classics, but the others are far better. Both musically, and lyrically.

AQUI PUEDES APRECIAR CUN IMPORTANTE FUE SYKES EN WHITESNAKE, CUANDO SE LLEVO CONSIGO LA IDEA DEL SONIDO QUE LUEGO EXPLOTARA EN EL DISCO 1987. ESTE COMO CASI TODOS LOS DISCOS DE LIZZY ES IMPECABLE, CON LA MELODIA Y LA CALIDAD DE SIEMPRE. "COLD SWEAT", "HOLY WAR", "BABY PLEASE DON´T GO", "THUNDER AND LIGHTNING", SON EL COROLARIO PERFECTO A LA HISTORIA DE UNA BANDA QUE TODOS ECHAMOS DE MENOS, DESDE QUE PHIL SE LLEVO CONSIGO LA MUSICA AL MAS ALLA. PHIL RULES!! carro_martin2000@yahoo.com.ar

This is a solid album. Phil is certainly rockin' in heaven. May I mention this album has the best Thin Lizzy song ever: Cold Sweat. The best TL album is by far LIFE LIVE and this album follows closely on its heals. "Thunder and lightning, God.mn its so exciting.." Okay so I'm biased with the Thunder concept. I thunder you to get this one and LIFE LIVE...

From: visitor Date: August 24, 2003 at 14:40
Cold Sweat is one of the greatest hard rock songs of the 80´s!

From: Endika Date: October 21, 2003 at 18:14

From: Metal Pete Date: February 5, 2004 at 21:08
I can't thank my buddy enough for turning me onto this disc. Rock n Roll has rarely been played so well. I completely agree that COLD SWEAT is an anthem for the ages. How about 'Bad Habits'? Pure rock at its finest. I love this cd, and listen to it often. RIP, Phil Lynott. The scene is far weaker without you around.

From: Metal Pete Date: February 5, 2004 at 21:11
TRacks 1, 5, and 8 are reason enough to go lay down $20 bucks for this album!! If you don't have it, go get it.

Thin Lizzy is one of the best rock bands ever! This cd isn't representative of all its carreer but a very good one! In some way they created the concept of rock and hard rock bands with good tunes, good melodies, twin guitars and good lyrics! The cd list must be updated, albums like chinatown or renegade must be in here!

From: Big Papa K Date: June 30, 2004 at 2:29
After a couple of dissapointing (for Thin Lizzy that is) albums in "Renegade" and "Chinatown", the band releases their final album and a classic in that. This time they are a full blown metal band on tracks like "This Is The One" and "Cold Sweat". They also turn in some great moodier tracks in "The Sun Goes Down" and "The Holy War". 10/10

Sykes' solo on Someday She Is Going To Hit Back is a work of art...

From: K.K. Poland Date: July 24, 2004 at 7:01

From: Propane Date: December 1, 2004 at 18:02
Got the elements once again! This is a must have for any TL fan. A heavy outing with only 100% pure rock.

From: Scott Date: December 15, 2004 at 8:54
If you are going to go out, go out with a bang. That is certainly what Thin Lizzy did here. Just an awesome album! Ex-Tygers of Pan Tang guitarist John Sykes brings in a breath of life into this old machine. Songs have been covered by bands like Gamma Ray, Sodom, Gothic Slam, Sinner, Heathen, Re-Animator, Helloween. No self respecting metalhead should be without this one. It is a key part of heavy metal and hard rock history!

Couldn't agree more!!

From: Endika Date: January 29, 2005 at 5:38

From: Oswaldo Franco Date: February 21, 2005 at 19:51
RULES THIN LIZZY. Lima-Perú

From: Rene Date: March 19, 2005 at 12:47
My favorite songs on this album are THUNDER AND LIGHTING and THE HOLY WAR. This is my favorite THIN LIZZY album because it sound more heavy then their other albums. More metal in a way and i love it. I know that die hard fans of the band will not agree with me but this is just my opinion. If you are a 80s metal fan and you are afraid to buy a THIN LIZZY album, buy this one because any metal fan will like this. Great songs with power and glory. Great hard and heavy release.

I'm not a big THIN LIZZY fan but i love this album.I don't know why but never liked lynnot's vocals and the way he wrote music. There're 3-5 very good songs for sure but overall the album isn't brilliant."cold sweat" is the best highlight and the solo one of the best of Sykes's

From: Remastered Reason Date: January 18, 2006 at 21:40
Sykes what an album!!! A killer disc. Top to bottom, I'm not sure this one doesn't fall right behind "Jailbreak" as the bands best overall. If this one would have had at least one commercial hit, it would have again put them over the top & kept the band in the limelight. Massive sound & production here. Essential to any hard rock collection.

From: True Believer Date: May 4, 2009 at 11:09
Different from previous releases, but still very good. My faves here are: melodic, atmospheric and sad "When Sun Goes Down", "The Holy War" with great melody and drumming, and "Bad Habits" with characteristic riffs. Great solos from Mr Sykes. 8,5/10

From: petermexico Date: April 19, 2012 at 16:53
Thin Lizzy Forever!

From: hair metal again Date: November 7, 2012 at 5:20
excellent release by THIN LIZZY and for me probably their best ever!John Sykes makes the difference here with all those hooks and his personal sound and the band seems to be in a great songwriting form!all the songs are fine and especially "someday she is gonna hit back","the sun goes down","the holy war" and "cold sweat"!essential
