If TNT or Masquerade represent 100 watt bulbs, this one burns at about 60 watts. Still bright, but not really that explosion of brilliance. Competent vocalist but the material isn't terribly memorable. An okay release for around the $10-15 range.

From: ROB GARCIA Date: February 16, 2003 at 12:18
the way i would describe this album is...imagine a mixture of blue blud with fm and youre just about there.i personally like this album very much. theres a good use of keyboards throughout the album and the compositions are very competent unfortunately this album is a bit rare to find these days so if you find it i suggest you get it youll be surprised especially if you liked the aforementioned bands.

A good AOR release from this british band. If you like AOR, this is certainly something for you. I rate it higher than sir Koogles !

Strong Brit Melodic Rock in the vein of Strangeways, FM and Change Of Heart. Strong Vocals and excellent Keyboards along with a good solid set of tunes make this one worth hunting down.

From: M. Allen Date: February 18, 2003 at 0:20
If you like polished melodic hard rock, run don't walk to get yourself a copy of this CD. As Koogles said, some songs aren't overly memorable, so the band comes across as second-rate, but they're better than a lot of what gets released nowadays. If you only collect masterpieces, don't bother with this one, but if you don't mind melodic hard rock that only ranks as 'good,' then this album is worth getting. It may not make you jump for joy, but it won't make you want to slit your wrists either...

From: AOR freaky Date: December 8, 2003 at 12:45
Great CD ! One of the best ever to come from Britain ! And the use of keys is perfect here. Check this band out !

Walk The Wire is a pretty rich mix of hard edged guitar and keyboard layers, the latter coming to the fore with the album opener, an instrumental called 'Quadrature'. The bass lines pump along in great fashion, similar to Merv Goldsworthy's work in FM. 'Nothing To Lose', 'On The Run' and 'Storm Warning' continue the melodic attack with no let up, complete with memorable choruses. For those of you who haven't got it, do yourself a favor and get this wherever you can.

Storm Warning is an awesome song!

From: Ton Jansen Date: July 13, 2004 at 15:39
One album, just one album from this great band. Stand up and fight and the emotional powerballad are highlights on this great album, just made in ten days. Still an outstanding production. Never heard a thing about singer Paul Watkins. Where is this guy with his beautiful (aor)voice. After all these rockin'years this album belongs to the best I have. Awesome.

From: Geoff Date: August 16, 2004 at 22:31
I left this one feeling quite dissapointed, I must admit. Compared to Masquerade, I recall, so my ears and I were both excited. After hearing there were a few moments I enjoyed. It is nicely played AOR, but there were only a couple of songs I stored away in the gem file - I think only one clear winner at the start of the album. Not bad at all, but not in the same ballpark as Masquerade. Nice AOR.

From: Steve Cooper Date: August 22, 2004 at 13:05
I've got Paul sitting here having a cup of tea (he's british) and he appreciates all the kind words and I will continue to check out the comments for him. He's still singing under the monicker of Paul Warren and is available for bookings. Steve

anybody know how to get it?

From: Rob Date: January 19, 2005 at 13:25
The singer is a deadringer for Tony Mills. Musicwise it's also comparable to Shy in their best days. Great british AOR

From: *Astaryivee* Date: February 9, 2005 at 2:50
This is good AOR, but as I write this I have to chuckle a bit. Currently, as of the time of this posting, this cd is ranked in the Top 25 Hard Rock Albums List of ALL TIME on this web site!!!! I say to Walk The Wire, enjoy it while you can cause Casey Casum and Shadow Stevens are going to fuse together like that dude on the fourth Hellraiser movie and kick your ass out of the countdown's upper eschelon! Ditch the ratings, it distracts from the real intent of the site. Oh, I say 7/10 on this one!

From: AOR freaky Date: February 9, 2005 at 3:17
This is indeed GREAT British AOR ! One of the very best ever from Britain ! Check it out !

From: z4roxx Date: February 9, 2005 at 12:27

From: Sean Kaufman Date: February 17, 2005 at 17:09

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: February 27, 2005 at 16:50
100% Recomendado.

From: Masmusic Date: March 14, 2005 at 14:39
An excellent top notch release!! From the very first time I heard this I loved it. Great vocals, sound a real gem. Any lover of great sounding AOR should have this in their collection 10/10

From: Rockstars2 Date: December 4, 2005 at 12:38
Aka Mike Barker: Thank You very much for your comments. To those of you who loved it, thanks! To those of you who hated it i don't give a stuff! Cheers Mike Barker -Bass Player- Founder member

I think we can all agree on its rarity:it is. But the bands before mentioned(FM, Strangeways, Atlantic) are FAAAAAAR better than this one. Do not get me wrong I think it's a great release and it's well spent money in buying it but compared to those monsters lacks the songwriting and the hooks, a fair good quality release.

From: metalguf Date: May 12, 2006 at 11:41
Agree with Geoff. They sound very 80's even trough they are from 1994. But not my favourite at all. But decent.

From: Heavy.AOR Date: June 22, 2006 at 11:37
BRILLIANT one big monster BRILLIANT stuff.10/10

From: aorteto Date: November 15, 2006 at 17:21
CHANGE OF HEART comes to mind when I`m hearing this CD ( like Jez said ), and I like it a lot. It`s not a classic, but REMEMBER, CROSSFIRE, STORM WARNING, HOLD ON ... and NOTHING TO LOSE are excellent tracks. And thank you JC.

From: Clayton77 Date: December 2, 2006 at 17:35
Here is one of the most excellent in AOR of all time. It sounds a bit like Shy meets Aviator at its best!!! CROSSFIRE is my favourite track...it kills!

From: Aorforever Date: December 6, 2006 at 5:59
''Running from my heart'' brilliant ballad! 10/10

From: z4roxx Date: December 11, 2006 at 12:56
Mmnnn a little bit overrated band??Here’s what I think about this cd,strange voice and not the rightest one for the genre I think,Ok 2/3 very good song but a little generic.I like this cd but I think it’s not a must, just good and superior than an average release.

From: newscandi Date: February 18, 2007 at 16:08
This album is a good example how the songs can grow on you. At least for me. First I listened to it, I found it that much lame that I spontaneously decided to sell it again. After lots of weeks I listened to it again, and, Wow, very good AOR one Like THE PROMISE, FORTUNE or whatever AOR with the right mix of keys and crispy guitar sounds. 8,6/10

From: lalo r.o.c.k. Date: May 18, 2008 at 23:46
Another AOR jewel, the first 2 songs are the definiton of melodic rock/AOR can be,but wait!... all the songs are awesome!, The knives are out tonight great ballad,Stand up and fight hard rock with killer riffs remember me LED ZEPPELIN and the keyboards DEEP PURPLE,the others songs are melodic and orgasmic songs with hard edged guitars,if you find it,buy it with your eyes close,9/10.

From: 123charpenay Date: May 1, 2009 at 18:37
