I just love the song 'Hard Times' & 'Broken Hearts'

From: TIM Date: January 19, 2003 at 5:20
Fun, rebellious sleaze. I like 'City Boys' myself.

From: abdullah Date: February 3, 2003 at 17:48
these guys started off as a bay area thrash band known as attitude adjustment before settling into the more hard rock orthodoxy of 2 bit thief. incredible cd. came out in my freshman year at college and i listened to it none stop. my other favorite punks-gone-glam band was rights of the accused.

I picked this up at a second hand store for$15 the other day. I wasnt sure what to expect.I just remember seeing the album advertised in one of my mags.Gave it ago,and it really is a good album, reminds me of dangerous toys alot.Hard times rocks

From: Stevie St Ford Date: June 11, 2004 at 9:16
Very underrated release, very punky, kinda like a more sleazy Social Distortion mixed with Dangerous Toys in my humble opinion.

From: Dean Date: June 11, 2004 at 15:34
I've got a couple of other releases from these guys that are just as good as this one. They were on a punk label for quite a while.

From: Desslar Date: June 13, 2004 at 21:21
This sucks and sucks hard. Broken Hearts is a pretty good tune, but the rest is simply awful.

From: FRATELLO Date: August 12, 2004 at 6:45
I like this album. I've bought CD after i read your comments and was afraid that it would be too punky. Lucky it turned out to be more glam and sleaze album. Good tunes, driven guitars, cool lyrycs. Rate it 8/10

Two bit Thief, Two bit peice of shit. Not really sure what to call this one, but this is another one of those CDs that looked better leaving my hands forever rather than how it looked in my CD player. Awful stuff and just plain bad, boring, punky hard rock.

From: FRATELLO Date: September 7, 2004 at 8:13
Geoff, things are not as bas as you describe Guys have some talent.

From: metalmastermusic Date: June 23, 2008 at 23:13
This group is actually pretty good. It's sound is on the sleaze rock side and if you like raspy vocals this disc is for you. It has taht mid 80's sound to it when rock'n'roll was just starting out. Good raw album !!! 76/100

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: June 25, 2008 at 14:44
These guys remind me, strangely, of Dangerous Toys mixed with Exodus. Very fast-paced, sleazy gutter-metal. My main gripe is how the songs tend to sound the same after a while.

From: z4roxx Date: November 30, 2008 at 10:56
Ahaha punky...where?Awesome commercial sleazy/hair metal,one of my fave cds'in the genre.9,5/10!

From: z4roxx Date: November 30, 2008 at 11:03
With all my respect for the guys above(except Tim who is a known name here)I don't consider those comments, for me they worths nothing but I am really surprised about Geoff's comment here,he is always correct and critical in descriptions etc but this time Geoff I think you're wrong about this one, cheers!

From: juan carlos Date: July 27, 2010 at 10:54
punky hardrock? nahh this is Sleaze HardRock with a bit punky voice of the singer, itīs an Ok album for me, not bad at all. 7.5/10

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: April 10, 2017 at 23:38
It's funny to see several comments above me scoffing at the idea that Two-Bit Thief have any punkiness. Three of the bandmembers were in a punk band, and tha tinfluence is all over this album, despite the new unit aiming for a more sleazy, biker-metal sound, a la Circus Of Power. The punk makes itself heard in the fast tempoes, simple shouted choruses and fairly basic riffs, and the general preference of energy and aggression over songwriting and instrumental prowess, and that punk need to have Something To Say. Someone described it as "commercial," but that's not true at all. This was way more abrasive than the stuff that actually WAS commercially successful, even moderately, in 1990. In a way, they remind me of an even rougher Warrior Soul, if every WS song was like "Wasteland" or "Ass-Kickin'." This album is more consistent than the follow-up, but the flip-side of that is the overall lack of variety across twelve songs. Good at high volume while drinking, driving, or pissed off.

Uh oh. Another band with a cd from 1990. Which means I gotta get my hands on it.
