It would be damned shame to overlook this band, because when it comes to cranking out some cool Euro-flavored melodic metal, they rank among the upper echelon. This debut is a little more raw than later releases, but don't confuse 'raw' with subpar quality. The killer guitars, tight musicianship, and great songs are present & accounted for. So, if you're jonesin' for a fix of great melodic metal, this is just what the doctor ordered...

Ditto the the above comment.Killer guitar & melodic vocals.

Que pena que no se hayan incluido los dos discos posteriores a este: Tanto 'Road Desire' como 'Grand Design' son dos joyas, bastante superiores a este disco. Una vez vi por ahí que iban a sacar un disco en directo, ¿que pasó? Saludos a Mallorca's y a Robert.

GREAT CD FROM THE KINGS OF SWEDEN.THIS IS SIMPLY EXCELLENT GROOVE ROCK WHICH IS TIMELESS.IT IS DIFFERENT FROM THE LATEST RELEASES BECAUSE IT HAS A SLIGHT VAN HALEN FEEL BUT ONLY BETTER.MY FAVOURITE TRACKS ARE I WANNA MAKE YOU MINE AND AFTER ALL.

From: Geoff Date: January 20, 2005 at 2:57
'Back (someday)' is a great hard rocking track, and overall this is pretty decent hard rock, but nothing compared to their later works. Average at best.

From: z4roxx Date: January 23, 2005 at 18:20
Add to this cd some fine keys and more melodies on refrains and you can get Reckless(SWE)band!ahaha!!Not bad at all, some pretty good hooks, but the next 2 releases are much more better than this one...BTW that's a listenable release,7/10.

From: z4roxx Date: December 18, 2006 at 13:48
Very good debut for one of the finest bands out from Scandi in the last 10 years. It’s not at the level of”Road of desire”and”Grand design”but it’s a good slab of hard rock even if it’s evidently different in genre than the next 2.I don t consider”Sign of madness”a Damned Nation’s release, too horrible to be a their work.

From: erik Date: June 17, 2007 at 4:58
This is good ! Yeah its different from their later works but this is not average at all. Borderrat is spot on here. The album has a Van Halen vibe too it.What a voice the guy has. Are you willing to Forgive, Back, Good Girl, Big Dreams, I wanna make you Mine, After all are my favorites. 8,5/10 Muchos saludos

I think this is their best cd followed by Sign Of Madness they are both a lot heavier, which I prefer.Grand Design and Road Of Desire are good but not as melodic they are more AORish. This cd rocks,I love Thorsen voice but I also love Matti Alfonzettis voice too.An overlooked cd well worth traking down to buy.
