Temporary Message Board Closure
The company hosting the message board sprung a surprise price hike on me that
would have more than tripled the monthly hosting costs, so I've been scrambling
to find an alternative. I've purchased a license for self-hosting a different
platform and am hiring a consultant to migrate the existing board's content
(posts, user profiles, etc.).
However, this means I need to shut down the message board for anywhere
from 3 days to (hopefully less than) a week so the data can be migrated.
While this is an expensive proposition up front, it should result in some
long-term savings.
The current message board will be closed down at some point this
Saturday, August 23. I will post updates here. The main site (where you are
reading this), will NOT be affected.

| Are You Kidding Harry Hess Legendary Vocalist Of Legendary Harem Scarem This Is The Really Harry Hess It Makes You Wonder What Went Wrong And This Band And This Album Never Got Any Recognition. Now On CD If You Like HS Or Not This Mother Fucker Rocks.

| This isn't hard rock. This is 80s Metal, the type you'd find on the Metal Massacre compilation albums. Their sound is similar to Exciter, being that both are from the same general area of Canada.

| Dude, I knew these guys, Back in 84 I spent two weeeks at their house partying while their parents were in England. Specifically Darryl's House. We went to school at Ajax High school . I've gotta buy this just for that reason alone. Funny thing was I did the album cover art for their first demo. A hand Holding eyeballs. Whatever happened to these guys anyways?

| The decent career that gener8tr hints at was in the generic & sappy Harem Scarem. Anybody who likes Harry Hess should stick to Blind Vengeance when he knew how to play rock n' roll with some balls and an edge to it, and leave the AOR stuff to bands like Foreigner & Journey. With the exception of 'Night Music' and 'Manikan' (those two fall flat) this album is a great 80s metal album. Highly recommended!

Sorry Rocker76 I don't mean to spread disagreement, but Harem Scarem are "generic and sappy"?! F*ck me sideways! The debut was not an opus in originality, but done perfectly for what it was and since then they have been ANYTHING but 'generic', some going as far as calling them 'genre-defining'. A brillaint band and I'm not sure if anyone else will agree, but IMO they are a whole different class of musical prowess compared to a lite-weight Journey or Foreigner, IMO. A sensational band... IMO

| And sorry to go on, but to some the debut was AOR (To me it is clearly melodic rock ) but surely one would not dare to say they've been any part of the AOR genre since the questionable debut?! They were fully fledged melodic hard rock in 'The early years', riff-driven monsterous melodic heavy rock on 'Mood swings' and since then have claimed their own brand of ultra-melodic hard rock not leaving modern influences and relevance behind. You might have guessed, but I dare say they're brilliant.

| Geoff, thanks for the response and I figured someone would respond since Harem Scarem is very popular on this website. I do own HS's debut but haven't heard the 2nd one - that was the basis of my earlier post. It's not a worthless album by no means, but it doesn't come close to BV's album for me as a fan of hard rock. If anything I was just warning fans of Hess's style in BV that he shifts away from that intensity in his 90's work. But I would say what he loses in power, he gains in melody.

| Man HS is cool, at least Believe! but this, this aint cool at all, what was Hess thinking??? I mean a song like Leave Me Tonight??? I guess he figured he better not pick it up, if he can't put it down, and I don't have 1 problem putting down any HS cd's after I bought this one!!! I guess when you look at it in perspective, Hess pulled a michael bolton, but bolton never did anything this good before he was castrated!!!but Journey was good also, for 3 albums, then they were castrated, BUY THIS CD!

Good Hard Rock, con ese estilo y sonido a las bandas de la NWOBHM pero de Canada y asi hubieron muchos en los diferentes paises, ahora lo importante aca es que Harry Hess antes del estallido de Harem Scarem tuvo esa garra para sacar un trabajo asi  I Might (You Will), Give Me the Night los 2 cortes que definen a la banda, asi que si eres fan de los Scarem y mas de Hess y no tienes este trabajo estas en falta aunque claro te debe gustar ese Hard Rock fuerte y con garra buen trabajo.

| I have to agree with Rocker76, I have never heard anything from Harem Scarem that rocked, but this puppy rocks pretty good. This has that mid 80's rockin' feel to it that we all love so much, too bad the late 80's had to turn everything commercial sounding

| Yeah Rafo!!!..this is very British in sound...Harold(Harry) Hess from Harem Scarem fame is in here,actually this is his previews band(not too difficult 2 realize because of his baby face on the picture )anyway talking about the songs,we have wonderful rocking tracks such as "Leave Me Tonight","Metal Over Mind" & "Give Me The Night" plus "Manikan"...87/100

Wow according to Leykis101 there are a LOT of "castrated" bands. Poor bands.  IMO not as good as Harry's solo or Harem Scarem. enjoyable? yes. As good to ME? No. Rock On!
