Please..........Anyone who has this cd (Bonham 'Mad Hatter'), please give your take on what you think of the album because I have yet to hear it. I own Bonham's first record--'The Disregard Of Timekeeping'--, which I don't believe to be that good and I am curious to know how 'Mad Hatter' sounds. Any commentary would be greatly appreciated.

I think Mad Hatter is a little better than Disregard, but they're pretty similar. There are some great songs on this CD, but a few of them suck too.

From: Teo_3 Date: January 2, 2003 at 4:11
Yes, it is not a bad effort. The best tracks are 3,7,10,11 and a few listenable songs but you will use the skip button a couple of times.

From: Izzy Date: January 19, 2003 at 3:54
Yeah i agree with those two people. Does anybody know anything about the artwork of the CD? I've got the tree virsion and this site seem to have just the letters. anyone?

From: moonrrising Date: February 14, 2003 at 19:35
The singer wa great he is from canada. The problem with the record is the record company told them what to do or they would not release the cd. I remember Daniel stated he hated the fact the record company was controlling the direct of the cd.

To me this has a real Aerosmith vibe to it. pretty good stuff overall.

From: Alban Date: December 12, 2003 at 19:36
I bought this album because I had heard the song "Change of a Season" and simply loved it at that time (around 1993). The rest of the album is good but nothing outstanding. I still love that song, but it's not worth the whole album.

From: Steven Ertelt Date: December 18, 2003 at 18:34
Not nearly as good as the first album. I don't find the songs as catchy or melodic, and in this genre the lack of memorable songs means poor album sales. "Disregard" earned the band a 7/10 from me. This is a 5 at best. Good musicianship, just nothing spectacular.

From: Gar Date: January 7, 2004 at 17:51
"Change of a Season" is a great song, but the problem with this disc is that its the only memorable one as well. There's nothing remarkable about any of the other tracks. A real shame too because the talent was definitely there. They just fell short in the songwriting department this time around.

how great this album is - my friend borrowed it and never returned it!

From: Craig.B Date: March 28, 2004 at 5:35
A good solid second effort. This album was far superior to the first and saw the band forging their own sound in parts. Pity they split up after this as it would have been interesting to see where the next one headed.

From: bdrums1971 Date: April 28, 2004 at 0:16
I respect the above opinions, but Mad Hatter is definately a better effort than Disregard. I have had M.H. in my car for over a month, and I am not tired of it. I bought M.H. on cassette when it came out and still love it. Disregard is good, but M.H. has better written songs and rocks harder. Jason's playing is inspired and Daniels vocals rock! The songs are similar to Disregard, being intricate at times and not boring at all. The keys are very nicely placed to add an extra texture. Great music!

What happened here??? This CD sucks big time, I got rid of it as fast as I could. I thought Tony Platt could do no wrong after the perfection that was Lillian Axe - Love + War, but I was wrong. Too edgy + no melody = absolute stinker!!!

From: Rycheage Date: October 27, 2004 at 9:33
"Mad Hatter" is a more mature work. As good as "Disregard..." was, I think this is a step up not a step back. The songs are stronger, and more mature, yet it fell victim to the sweeping out of the old and bringing in the crap (grunge). It is a good melodic rock disc. I recommend getting it for it could be had cheap on eBay.

An ordinary follow up to what was a promising debut! Only a few tracks worth listening to here Change Of A Season, Backdoor and Chimera(which is the pick of the bunch). Not surprising to see the band split after this. A similar sound to Disregard, but the songs just aren't as good. 6/10....

From: dougie Date: June 5, 2007 at 17:27
Both classics in my opinion, each with a unique form of music encompassing some limited horns but rock nevertheless. There's some pretty atmospheric songs on each and I go back to them every now and then without disappointment. Anyone know what happened to the vocalist?

From: elljam Date: February 10, 2012 at 7:14
The obvious Led Zeppelin influence is there as is hints of Aerosmith especially on the title track but the overriding feeling is that of Tesla (although nowhere near as good),mainly due to Daniel Macmaster's impressive Jeff Keith like vocals which make some average songs sound better. "Change of season" is a great track & would sound good with any singer & there are a few more decent songs but album closer "Chimera2 is a tuneless waste of time

From: hair metal again Date: December 13, 2016 at 11:56
very very good release again for BONHAM back in 92 with an excellent production and a fine hard rockin sound with the AEROSMITH ,LED ZEPPELIN influence all over ,but also with their own elements (Daniel s warm voice &Jason s full performance)!i can still recall being stunned when i saw the video("change of a season") ,but there are also many other remarkable songs like "chimera",'bing","mad hatter" and "backdoor"!def a grower and highly recommended for hard rockers
