| Picks up right where ReadySexGo left off. I'm still undecided which was better. I loved them both. Butch is a master in the studio when it comes to wall of sound and in your face attitude. Lately he's been working with bands like Sum 41 and SR-71 from what I've heard. The first track is a funny kick off, but once you've heard it, you'll skip it from then on. My Way is an instant rock anthem, Suburbia is a humorous look at todays society. Every track is good on this cd. Check it out!

| 3 out of 10 after 9 rating???? Gimme a break. This is a good album but it also takes a play or 3 to really get into. Not as immediate as Hey.. or Ready...but once it has you you're hooked. Butch is the only guy out there right now doing this kind of thing and more power to him. He is a truly great songwriter and plays the majority of the ionstruments on the album which he also produced himself. I think the man is a genius and this album is worthy of 8/10 easily.

| The score is not high, but rightly so, because this kind of stuff don't belong here, bcause it's stupid nu-breed and it has nothing to do with AOR or hardrock ! And now the critics from P.Katt and dear Mr. Holmes or others, who think they are better than other people, or I'm I wrong ? (hope so !!!). We should stay on the same side and fight the same fight because or dear AOR genre deserves that !!! Peace (not piece) to everyone, but this is a bad record. Sorry !!

| Go with the mjority people. Ignore Freddy The Krazy. This cd is no more shocking or 'out there' than when Poison or Pretty Boy Floyd popped onto the music scene with Mary Kay's entire catalog on their faces. Butch is glam, punk, rock, and AOR all rolled into one. He used to be with the awesome band Southgang.

| I'm with Freddy 110%. The minute this nu-Breed shit starts seeping in, that's precisely the moment you open the whole pandora's box of modern rock. As far as I'm concerned, you let Marvelous 3 in & then you have to include Blink 182. Then what? Puddle of Crudd? Nickelcrap? Indeed, a line MUST be drawn. Butch Walker's Southgang was brilliant ('Tainted Angel' rules!), then he hopped on the next train to Trendsville & let his power-pop dink hang out in the 'neo-Cheap Trick' (not so) Marvelous 3.

| i disagree this is an excellent hard melodic rock album, butch is doing a good job in flyin the hard rock flag. My way, Suburbia, etc all our hard rock anthems!!! he deserves to be on this site and as for 'tainted angel' it sucked!!! its hard to believe this guy was involved with the likes of southcrap!

| Koogles has it right,guys. This 'crap'(I'm polite) has no place in Heavy Harmonies !!! Most of you don't understand the line between melodic rock and punk/alternative rock. This is alternative rock. If we let this in, we can also include System Of A Down, Sum 41, Chevelle, Good Charlotte and all other kid-bands. Are you adult people guys, or little kids, not knowing the difference between real music and plastic crap stuff, like this ! ?

| As a general rule, I am keeping the nu-breed stuff off this site (some may slip through since I'm not familiar with every single band that gets submitted here... I try, but there's simply too many bands to keep up on). One thing not to forget though, is that Butch Walker was a member of Southgang, one of the better 'unknown' hard rock bands out there...

| I wholeheartedly agree with Steve T's comments. It did take me a few listens to really get into it. But it's worth it. I think I dig the M3 stuff a bit more but this is definitely good too. Does it have any nu-breed influence? Absolutely! But it aint nu-breed, the songs are more mature, the harmonies are better, and you can hear Butch's obvious playing ability even though he's not doing the 80's rock solos anymore. Open them minds up and give it a shot.

| Hi! I am one of those dudes who's stuck in the eighties. Not much of this 'NEW MUSIC' shit impresses me. Butch Walker definatly has that 'NEW' sound now-a-days. But make no mistake, he has an enormous talent that should make anyone in music (whatever the era) VERY jealous. As for 'Left Of Self Centered'; it's good, DAMN GOOD! I just picked it up the other day (as I am a huge Butch Walker fan, and enjoy all of his Southgang stuff). Give Butch and his new direction a chance. I think you'll dig it!

| The man is a brilliant artist and obviously smart enough to realize Southgang was dead because people just don't care about that kind of music (I DO!) anymore. Sad, but time to move on. Regardless of how you feel about the 'style' (unfair because his music is so diverse, anyone who argues otherwise hasn't heard his stuff, they're just bashing for bashing's sake), there's no denying his songwriting ability and ear for a melody is the bomb-diggly.

| Hey John, it's not that Southgang was dead (or that style of music for that matter); just that, for the sake of the almighty dollar, stuff like Nirvana became trendy. I mean, look how quickly Firehouse became un-cool, and Stone Temple Pilots became 'gods'. Sad really, how it all happend, you know. Otherwise I agree with you. | Butch also had a band in the mid 90's called The Floyds and had an album called Creamy. I think Jayce and Slug were in the band with him. It wasn't very hard rock, but still kind of funny.

| 'Left of Self-Centered' is a true solo album in every sense and is natural progression from Marvelous 3's finest moment,'Readysexgo'. Even though Butch Walker may not take himself too seriously, on the evidence of this album,it’s about time the rest of the music industry did. What distinguishes the songs on 'Left Of Self-Centered' from the majority of punk-pop bands currently out there is Walker’s cerebral,dare I say intelligent lyrics. Bob Dylan he isn’t,but better than most stuff out there.

| Oh Butch, you beautiful beautiful man. This CD is excellent and when I see people saying it does not belong on this site, I again look to the top left of my screen. Heavy Harmonies is what it say and heavy harmonies is what this album is filled to the brim with. Awesome and fun lyrics, songs catchy as f*ck, great solid musicianship... but just great songs. I don't care if you call it 'nu-breed' or what. To me it is A-class modern melodic hard rock. 9.4/10

| The cool thing about this album is, while it may not be 'AOR', it is the litmus test by which all other reviews can be judged. Butch has enough change in his music to be labeled as 'nu-breed', but he retains enough of his rock roots to still have his music be phenomenally enjoyable. If you can't enjoy and appreciate his music, no matter if you like every other album on this site, your opinion is null and void to me because Butch Walker is where it begins and ends.

| After listening to the new Butch Walker cd, I'll have to say I prefer this one much more. The first half of Letters is decent, but the rest loses steam quickly. In fact, I'd like to see him do an album thats a cross of M3's ReadySexGo and Left Of Self-Centered. Keep the rockin sound going and have less of the slow drawl tunes. It would also be cool to see him re-record a few of the old Southgang tunes with himself on vocals and get Jayce and Slug back as well

| Butch's most consistent work yet! Songs like Alicia Amnesia and Sober are just magical. This album sounds like a Marvelous 3 album but thats a good thing, he also shows artistic growth with some introspective songs like Sober and Trouble. Suburbia is a great anthem that distills how crazy suburbia is. This album is great, every track is wonderful, I was depressed at how much Letters disappointed me after this.

| With a fresh sound & new haircut Butch really flexes his talent on this release. A great follow on from 'Ready, Sex, Go'. The songs and production are unencumbered by the M3 sound and perameters... and as stated above more consistent than his M3 work. Whilst definitely not metal, it does rock & as per any great rock record has a couple of "ballads". I wouldn't brand this nu metal, although it does encorporate some modern production values. Lyrically & musically it's whip smart & Tight with no filler in sight. The kid is genius!
