It's maybe boring for you people to read this, but also this one is a real eighties CLASSIC ! Both CD's are pure, classy AOR, the way it should be done ! ANother clear winner, that you can't miss in a serious collection. Also ESSENTIAL !!!!!

From: koogles Date: August 28, 2002 at 16:41
Now that Renaissance has gone under, I can't stress the importance of finding this & adding it to your collection. It's only gonna get harder to find! The first half of this CD ("Spys") is classic. Fans of Aviator, Arcangel, 707, Hybrid Ice and other like-minded AOR culprits are HIGHLY encouraged to check this out! The second half ("Behind Enemy Lines") is a little more left-of-center (with some hoky new wave leanings: "Sheep Don't Talk Back") but by track 14, you'll have already been won over.

I love the Spys debut album, a true classic and a must have for all early 80´s pomp AOR fans. If you like Journey, Foreigner, Touch or the 1st Prophet album you can not live without it. A masterpiece!!!

Great, great AOR ! Not to miss, people ! This is breathtaking AOR stuff ! BUY !

From: fromthe80s Date: January 5, 2004 at 17:50
Wow, I can't believe I just found this band. I taped their album onto a cassette 20 years ago and have played it till its death. I've occasionally surfed to find anything about the Spys but only today did I actually find any success. Definitely one for the collection. Back in my youth in a rock band we did the first 2 songs (Don't Run My Life, She Can't Wait) - great memories.

Awesome set of songs-I love these albums to bits!! Pomp/Aor classics one and all.

From: Nick Date: September 20, 2004 at 16:39
A truly magnificent couple of AOR albums on one CD. These albums define AOR...good and rocky with superb dynamics not wimpy and bland like the majority of the stuff put out under the genre today.

How could i have forgotten to comment on this one. This is and will always be one of the best ever debut cd's ever released in it's field, and i mean EVER released period. Remember getting this when it came out and playing it to death, which i still do to this day on cd. The 2nd release 'Behind Enemy Lines' is also essential, slightly more of a new wavish feel in places, but still superb in all departments. If you see this grab it at all costs, your life is not complete without it.

True .. true!

GOOD ALBUM NOTHING MORE, LOS MEJORES TEMAS SON DEL SEGUNDO ALBUM LOS PRIMEROS NO DAN LA TALLA, UN AOR DE ESOS AÑOS NO TAN BUENO COMO PREVIEW, STREETS OR BALANCE, ESTOS GRUPOS SON MEJORES. BUENO LOS MEJORES ALBUMS DE AOR SALIERON EN LA SEGUNDA MITAD DE LOS 80. ESO TODOS LO SABEMOS.

From: guillermo Date: February 17, 2005 at 11:04
unos albumes bastante escuchables. Con mogollón de teclados.Aunque se acaban haciendo un poco pesados hacia el tema 15.Clásico y no0 tan pasado como se podría pensar

From: Swriter Date: February 18, 2005 at 21:11
very good re-release/remaster!!!!! melodic rock with a new wave touch, the first album is great, the second not bad, but more of a new wave aspect, great early 80's melodic rock, similar to the B'zz

From: AOR freaky Date: February 19, 2005 at 4:07
Indeed FANTASTIC stuff, Swriter and much better than the B'zz, cause there are more keys on !

From: dabunsoyn Date: September 6, 2005 at 17:18
'Over Her'...... never, i'll never be over this one. You see it's the tunes man, the tunes!

From: poproxx2007 Date: January 11, 2006 at 18:21

From: ROBERT Date: February 15, 2006 at 13:31
Exito Garantizado!! Recomendados totalmente!!

From: z4roxx Date: January 21, 2007 at 12:10
It’s not my fave band in the start of 80’s but I can say it’s a good one.I find some similarity with Queen sometimes and an incredible keys using, among the best bands for that.

Pure Magic!

From: juan carlos Date: June 22, 2008 at 0:52
Yeah, it´s clear eh, if you like classic POMP-AOR with multi-layer keys then this is your album! "Don't Run My Life"(I´m sure i´d listened it on radio) "Over Here" "Rescue Me" "Reaction" "Younger Days" and the good ballad "Hold On" are my Highlights. I prefer AOR albums less pomp-oriented. 8.5/10

From: rick kerch vzla Date: November 24, 2010 at 20:41
As i wrote back in 2006,great double package!!!...now being more detailed let's go step by step...Spys "S/T"(1982)...debut album...pretty fine release indeed with some cool songs,"Ice Age","Danger","Over Her","Don't Say Goodbye","Into The Night","Hold On"(nice ballad) & "No Harm Done"(85/100)...Spys "Behind Enemy Lines"(1983)a lot more consistent, better songs and with a more ambitious production...songs,"Rescue Me" & "Midnight Fantasy" are killer tracks and my all time Spys' favorite ones,"Behind Enemy Lines"(great vocal parts, kinda epic, classical or pomp),"Reaction","Heartache","Race Againts Time"(nice beat) & "Can't Stop Us Now"(is Styx influenced all over),(88/100)...fans of old school AOR will love these 2 releases..shamely the members of the band went their separate ways after the second release...as a whole i rate it with a 92/100....

From: masmusic Date: November 27, 2010 at 15:41
Loved this release right from the start. Al Greenwood the original keyboard player of Foreigner.

From: Animal! Date: March 2, 2011 at 23:38
Ed and Al were both in Foreigner before this. Desiree is my favorite on this.

From: 707STAR Date: September 16, 2011 at 15:12
ANOTHER ROCK CLASSIC HERE. THE SPYS FIRST ALBUM WAS A PERFECT GEM 10/10. BEHIND ENEMY LINES 4/10 WAS GOOD BUT NOTHING LIKE THE S/T DEBUT. 2 GUYS FROM FOREIGNER DO I HAVE TO SAY MORE. BUY THIS. DANGER,ICE AGE, DON,T RUN MY LIFE AND SHE CAN,T WAIT ARE AMAZING SONGS.
