Ramshackle album has the feel of an all-star jam session, but the novelty wears off really quick. The musical equivalent of a star-studded, but plotless, Hollywood movie.

From: Tony Date: May 2, 2002 at 19:46
Above review is right on the money. Good playing but just completely lacks of substance. Probably too polished and produced and would have sounded better if you just stuck these guys in a garage and just let them crank these songs out.

From: Desslar Date: May 5, 2002 at 2:07
This rocks!!! Awesome guitar from Guns and Schenker, and Black has a pretty cool voice. This album is a non-stop jam-fest. Not terribly though-provoking, but so what? All the Way to Memphis must be one of the greatest covers ever.

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: July 30, 2002 at 16:42
I should have knowen I'd find this album on H. Harmonies. I've got this CD. It's alright, but nothing to write home about.

From: Gar Date: August 21, 2002 at 19:40
Not as good as any of the members' "real" bands, but still enjoyable. "Bad For Each Other" was originally recorded by Richard Black's band Shark Island. Both versions sound pretty much the same.

From: Baris Date: September 10, 2002 at 5:25
A good all-star jam. The music and sound are OK but in some parts Schenker-Guns solos take too long and boring. The rest may be fun.

From: Scott Date: February 12, 2003 at 17:09
Gar said it exactly, :Not as good as any of the members' "real" bands, but still enjoyable." There are a two obscure covers on this disc; David Bowie's "Hang On to Yourself" and Mott the Hoople's "All the Way From Memphis" both of which are actually very well done. http://www.nolifetilmetal.com

COINCIDO CON ROBERT, ESPERABA MUCHO MAS DE LA BANDA , EN ESPECIAL DE SCHENKER, AUNQUE HAY UN PAR DE CANCIONES QUE SACUDEN LA MODORRA "ALL THE WAY FROM MEMPHIS-YOU`RE MINE TONIGHT-BAD FOR EACH OTHER-IF THIS IS LOVE", EL RESTO QUIZAS HASTA INTRASCENDENTE. DE TODAS FORMAS SE NOTA QUE HAY BUENA PRODUCCION, E ICLUSO QUE ES UN DISCO DE AMIGOS. PARA PASAR EL RATO Y NO MUCHO MAS..6/10 carro_martin2000@yahoo.com.ar

Not a bad release. But, considering the performers, I expected something a lot better. The only reason why I have this in my collection is because of who's on it. That's pretty much all there is to it...at least for me. his is one of those, "Hey, do you happen to have such 'n' such album?" To which I can reply, "Why, yes, as a matter of fact, I do!"

From: ABBI Date: July 31, 2003 at 7:54
NOT A BAD ALBUM BUT I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE YOUNG GUY WHO DID ALL THE DRUMMING SESSION WORK WHO DOES,NT EVEN GET A MENTION

From: Nobycane Date: August 11, 2003 at 16:05
A little triva here: The track on this album "Loud Guitars, Fast Cars, Wild Wild Living" is actually a BLUE TEARS track...entitled "Wild Wild Ride".....this album is awesome though!!! I have the original track by Blue Tears and this one and the Contraband version is almost the same...Contraband changed the chours a little.

From: vikingo Date: February 7, 2004 at 15:27
PUES A MI ME PARECE UN BUEN DISCO CON MUCHO ROCK AND ROLL Y DIVERTIDO, SE NOTA QUE ES UN DISCO MAS DE AMIGOS QUE DE CALIDAD INDIVIDUAL CON LOS 2 GRANDES GUITARRAS COMO SON MICHAEL SCHENKER Y TRACI GUNS.

From: MJ (Marla) Date: February 18, 2004 at 22:01
I'm usually a big fan of huge production.....but this is just maybe TOO huge. I'm glad I got it, just for the song "Tonight You're Mine".....but the rest is pretty unexciting....

From: Big Papa K Date: June 12, 2004 at 23:50
Example number one of why not to get excited over super groups. Combines decent covers with weak originals. What a waste considering Schenker and Guns were involved. 3/10

From: tonigirona Date: July 14, 2004 at 18:21
No esta mal pero a mi me decepciono, me esperaba mбs con tanto talento junto.

From: CC Date: October 16, 2004 at 19:12
I really enjoyed this album, thats all that matters. Although I bought it for who was in the band I didnt use their main bands as a yardstick to measure this band by,that way this album stands up on its own as a good old fashioned rock record!

From: Kryiis Karl Date: November 6, 2004 at 2:27
Good Cd, to listen for what it's worth, no more no less. No genius work here, but pleasant. 6.5/10

м да незнам абе тук има яки музиканти от яки банди

From: Geoff Date: March 8, 2005 at 5:10
As almost everyone above points out, this is a bit of a waste of everyone's time. Great cast for a hard rock disc, but the songs just aren't there. 'Kiss by kiss' is a good track, and 'Intimate outrage' is an awesome hard rocker, but the rest is just pretty average. All three ballads are good enough, but none are great. I'd certainly ensure you have this in your collection, as it's still cheap, but it's not amazing.

From: headbanger4life Date: January 19, 2006 at 4:09
I got this based on all the members being from "Big Acts". Although it is a decent release, it failed to live up to the hype and their regular bands. "All the Way from Memphis" is a pretty good cover and I liked "Tonight You're Mine". "Bad for Each Other" was originally done by Shark Island and this version doesn't sound any different.

Nothing really to write home about here, as the highlights of the disc "Bad For Each Other" and "Tonight Your Mine" were both on the Shark Island disc and the versions there are better IMO. The only other standouts are "All The Way To Memphis" and the just incredible ballad "So This Is Love". It alone is almost worth the purchase. The rest is lackluster and not earth shattering in any way. Cool if you can get it for a couple of bucks.

From: kipvanpearcy Date: August 1, 2007 at 17:12
Good CD. "If this is love" is absolutely awesome, "All the way to Memphis" is another great moment of the CD. I'd buy it just for these two. The rest is OK.

From: jan_vexel Date: November 7, 2007 at 17:22
waste of time listening to this....

From: rockhardrock Date: March 25, 2009 at 9:19
even though this album made a supergroup it is not a gem. i don't wanna say it is bad album, no way but it just isn't the album that you could expect. there are some great tracks here like: All the Way from Memphis, Loud Guitars, Fast Cars, and Wild, Wild Livin' and Tonight You're Mine.

From: Animal! Date: February 27, 2011 at 22:55
I played this the other day. Love the guitar work on All the way from Memphis.

From: happy2849 Date: March 4, 2011 at 18:01
A lot of talent here and it could have been so much better. There are some great tracks and the usual fillers. Usually cheap enough so take a chance!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: May 31, 2011 at 23:10
Very good one off album project with pretty strong songs that range from rocky ones to some others into the AORish field..."Kiss By Kiss","Intimate Outrage","Bad For Each Other"(nice mid tempo),"If Is This Love"(the best of the album IMHO)& "Tonight You're Mine"(nice ballad) are my favourites...no need 2 mention the players of the album, you all know who they are ...91/100

From: 123charpenay Date: May 13, 2016 at 16:23
how a super group ,a real dream team like this can make a so bad record?for me it s a mystery.imagine you have the guitar hero mickael schencker (scorpions),the drummer of ratt, the bassist of vixen, tracii guns on guitar with mickael and the ice on the cake the fabulous singer of shark island mr richard black.result ......nothing. a very mediocre realize.it s a shame.all this exceptional musicians made this cd for what?they have loosing their time for nothing.the melodic rock fans who have buying this cd are totally despoil!!!!!!!!!!

From: Erikk Date: August 28, 2021 at 10:36
Rick kerch vzla is spot on. Excellent album. Great vocals, The stick is unjusitied. Intimate Outrage and Kiss by Kiss are melodic rock gems. The mid tempo song If this is love is just awesome. 88/100

From: hair metal again Date: October 14, 2023 at 12:39
excellent album for that all star line up with CONTRABAND being something like a celebration of the success of that kind of music!all the songs stand out and there are also some fine guitar jams!love it
