Not my thing. Average at best production. Sort of like a more mellow Skid Row making demo tracks before they were any good. |

'Arms of love' lifts this disc up a notch. It's good solid heavy melodic rock and fans of Monarch will appreciate it. Good solid stuff, but not Ralph's best work... though still a pretty fine disc and well worth tracking down. |

Certainly an overrated band and record. Not saying it is all bad, but this is easily forgettable and not worth tracking down at all cost. Give it a try if you're into the early MSG / SCORPIONS / UFO stuff with heavy guitars. |

Not a big fan of the singer but Santolla kicks ass as usual. Some great music if you can get past the singer. I guess he is not that bad. |

Actually I thought for its time this was a breath of familiar air back when the world was drowning in flannel. JToddPlant (later of shortlived Millenium fame) has an exceptional set of tonsils sounding every bit a blend of SunsetStrip and the best period of hair metal (hate the term but ya get the drift) I think the songs on offer are quite the find, first half of the album is super strong from the opening KillingWords (sublime chorus) MastersOfTheWorld borderline powermetal until the AOR chorus works well enough albeit prefer the verses, and personal fave StillHalfAlive which bounces & grooves with the best of them check out that chorus!!! Elsewhere AllIWanted is another pick nodding and winking its way back to when this kinda stuff was fun and fun was cool! Sure there's some questionable lyrics & not everything works but there's treasure to be found particularly looking back on this one all these years later as it has aged well. Def worth checking out for the right price, rating 7.5 |
