Aug. 20, 2025: Temporary Message Board ClosureThe company hosting the message board sprung a surprise price hike on me that would have more than tripled the monthly hosting costs, so I've been scrambling to find an alternative. I've purchased a license for self-hosting a different platform and am hiring a consultant to migrate the existing board's content (posts, user profiles, etc.). However, this means I need to shut down the message board for anywhere from 3 days to (hopefully less than) a week so the data can be migrated. While this is an expensive proposition up front, it should result in some long-term savings. The current message board will be closed down at some point this Saturday, August 23. I will post updates here. The main site (where you are reading this), will NOT be affected. -Dan |

If you see any errors or omissions in the CD information shown above, either in the musician credits or song listings (cover song credits, live tracks, etc.), please post them in the corrections section of the Heavy Harmonies forum/message board.
The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular American Dog CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. Please only submit official CD releases; no bootlegs or cassette-only or LP-only releases.
EPs and CD-singles from American Dog are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

I love this band, and Foamin' At The Mouth is a great live album. Basically, they expanded the party-in-the-studio concept of Six-Pack to a full-length release. The song selection is a fine sampling, taking three songs from each previous release, throwing in a cover, and a joke-country bonus track. The drums pound, the bass pumps, the vocals snarl and Steve Theado rips it up throughout. Highlights would be stellar renditions of "Shitkicker," "Barely Half Alive," the always-entertaining "Drank Too Much," and the extended jam on "Too Damn Sober" (listen for the surprise snatch of "Earache My Eye" buried within). The sound quality is great, and the songs are all mearner and heavier than in their original versions, as all good live albums should be. A great introduction to the band's earlier work. |
