| Mark Mangold mastermind from "Drive she said" and "Mystic Healer" there a some good aor songs on this best of CD for example: "Don't you know what love is", "Black star". Not bad.

| I Agree with you Freddy! Not bad Shoemaker???? This is simply the best pomp album ever. The best hooks, the best vocal harmonies and the best synths and key solos are here. "Touch II" is good but "Touch" is pure magic in your ears. If you have listened to something best tell it to me please!

| The debut is the best pomp rock album ever released without a doubt. This cd has everything that a fan of this type of music would ever want.Probably my most played album/ cd ever, never a week goes by without playing this. The second cd is great also, not up to the debut, but what could be . The bonus tracks are of a good standard also (makes a change from a lot of reissues). If you don't own this cd you are losing out bigtime.

| The debut 'Touch' Album, which i bought when it was first released on lp back in 79/80 is still my all time favourite release (along with the 'Boston' album, and 'Journey's 'Raised on radio'. It has everything you could ever want and pray for with a pomp/aor album. 'Don't you know what love is', is the greatest song ever recorded. Buy, buy, buy...

| Glad you like Touch that much, Chris. I don't understand the low rating for this masterpiece. Maybe it's because I like it. Listen also to the other bands (except American Tears) where Mark Mangold is involved (Drive She Said, The Sign etc.). All wonderfull. Mark is a genius, an AOR 'god'.And 'Don't you know what love is' is a brilliant song, but the best ever ? 'Water to stone' from DSS is better and there are other songs (Oh Diane from Frederiksen/Phillips, Modern Day Delilah from Van Stephens

| Van Stephenson and 'Mother dear' from Styx and 'Stage fright' from Legs Diamond and 'Keys to the city' from The V.U. and 'Sweet Music' from the mighty pomp band Roadmaster (do you know that band, Chris ? I think so, if not, search their records at any price, but not their first which is very weak, but the rest ! By the way : what's the best song ? They're all so damned good, it's so difficult to say what's best. Let's say : they're all BRILLIANT. Link is also a good pomp act, little known ! etc.

| Freddy mate. It seems like we were certainly raised on the same kinda music. I know and have all the bands you have mentioned including Roadmaster. I have all their releases on vinyl and also some very rare live material (a couple of shows). Fave tracks by the band from 'Sweet music' are 'circle of love', 'Higher higher' and the title song. From 'Hey world' which agreed is not as good, but still excellent my fave songs are the title cut and 'Say you wanna be with me'. I love this band.

| Back to the Touch thing Freddy, i just love that album and i have never stopped playing it after 23 years. It is what i loved about the 80's and realy miss these days. I rarely buy aor these days as the bands can't cut it like they used to (imo). I interviewed Mark Mangold once for Boulevard fanzine, and met him numerous times when DSS came over here. He is one of my all time heroes, and he is a nice, genuine, and down to earth guy. It was a pleasure meeting him. Hope you read this Mark....

| The first TOUCH album is brilliant! Nothing but great song after great song. Check out the CASTLE DONNINGTON MONSTERS OF ROCK album from 1980 for a live version of "Don't Ya Know What Love Is".

| Hi Chris, glad to hear you have almost the same taste. I think also Koogles and Rob Garcia have our taste. Fine ! And I agree with you : the recent (so called!) AOR release are not half as good as what was released in the late seventies and the eighties ! The most promising new 'band' for me is Mecca. I like that record. It has a bit of that eighties feeling. But I miss real great pomp bands today. Now that was a fine time, hé Chris ! Pomp is heaven when played and written as it should be !

| The 'Sweetest Victory' was not recorded by the band here, its a different band altogether 'Rafo Phoenix'. Its also not in the same league as any of the songs recorded by this band.

| One of the best pomp albums ever, packaged with it's originally unreleased follow up! The debut Touch album is just superb. The second disc is the second Touch album which I only ever heard on dodgy tape copies with bags of hiss! So it's nice to hear it as it should be. Not quite as good as the first, the songs are there but the production needed tweeking (but I believe the album was abandoned just before it was finished)...ESSENTIAL!

| Simply awesome! My fave album of all-time. Sublime vocals from the 3-Yes 3 lead vocalists(it doesn't come any more AOR than that)!Superb lead guitar from Craig Brooks (where is he know?) Ok it is somewhat dated but the hugeness of this album makes up for the fact. Die-hard fans of this album should seek out the Japanese cd on the Bareknuckle label (code AVCB-66041~2)as this has far superior packaging and is not plagued by the pressing fault i had on the 3 copies of the Euro release i tried.

I wonder what's wrong with me. What am I missing here? I guess you had to live and be around when this music was released, because to me this does very little for me. I don't like the sound of the album (sounds weak to me), though I admit that 'Don't you know what love is' is a great song. 'So high', 'Take it back', 'Tonight', 'Look at what you got' are okay and 'I found someone' is awesome, but aside from that I can pass on the rest and would barely listen to the EP I just made too.

| I have kinda the same feeling Geoff, this is great stuff, but I never heard the band till a few weeks ago, good enough, but for some reason, does not knock me out? Don't you know is a great one though!!! but I wonder if I heard it when it was released, if it would hit me harder??? don't get me wrong, very good stuff!!!

| I'm not the biggest pomp fan in the world but dare to say: this is THE BEST POMP/ROCK RECORD OF ALL TIME!!! No doubt. I have the cd with the original cover so i can't criticize the 2nd disc of this release. Worth to search it? Just the epitome of pomp together with some STYX masterpieces.

| Cant get into this at all, I have the Jap edition with the 1980 cover. I got got it due to the rave reviews on this page...why do you like it so much the first is just tooooooo 70's pop rock, no catchy hooks, guitars are just to weak, keys are nice but they use way to much organy sounds, I do like the vocals though. Sounds like almost no production at all on some songs, in a way the music makes me feel depressed...

| "My Life Depends On You" which is on Disc 1 / track 10,which was originally on the B-side of the single "Don't You Know What Love Is" is such a great song.It was the band's big mistake that this song was not appeared on the original debut album.Japanese version of this double CD is in a different cover.
