Sep. 6, 2025: Update: Temporary Message Board ClosureUpdate: Board ourage has been delayed due to consultant's schedule. Outage TBD. The company hosting the message board sprung a surprise price hike on me that would have more than tripled the monthly hosting costs, so I've been scrambling to find an alternative. I've purchased a license for self-hosting a different platform and am hiring a consultant to migrate the existing board's content (posts, user profiles, etc.). However, this means I need to shut down the message board for anywhere from 3 days to (hopefully less than) a week so the data can be migrated. While this is an expensive proposition up front, it should result in some long-term savings. I will post updates here. The main site (where you are reading this), will NOT be affected. -Dan |

WELCOME TO POMP HEAVEN!!...this could be a good way to introduce this album.this is probably be the biggest highlight in robby valentine's career so far;the quality of the material on offer its so high that i would recommend to lay down before you start listening to this masterpiece.every song in here could easily be a hit single if given the chance.the queen influence in robby's music its very obvious but actually thats exactly what makes this album so special as it gives a wider diversity to |
From: ROB GARCIA | Date: February 5, 2004 at 18:28 |
the music.with this album you get the whole package...i mean,if you want excellent hard rockers check out:'the magic infinity' or 'only your love' if on the other hand you prefer beautyfull ballads how about'dont make me wait forever'....god! he even dares to create his own bohemian rapsody in 'no turning back' and you know what!?...he excells on this type of songs...tremendous indeed!.if you like queen & zinatra then youre gonna love this believe me!.dare you miss this!!...100 0uaranteed!!!!. |

Yes, this is pomp of the highest order...PURE CLASS! The hard driven 'The Magic Infinity' starts the album in a perfect way...it hits you like a kick in the stomach! Tracks 'Only Your Love' and 'I Need Your Love' are pure AOR.For me the best track on the album is 'No Turning Back'..it has a chorus that makes me go crazy...MEGA POMP!! |
From: M. Allen | Date: February 6, 2004 at 17:53 |
If pomp gets you pumped, then this CD is for you. With keys sweeter than Anna Kournikova's kiss and melodic guitars more polished than a porn star's knob, Valentine serves up some high-quality AOR/melodic rock brimming with hooks & harmonies. Easily among the man's best work, on par with Zinatra, though this is far more AOR-oriented. If you get off by turning pomp on, stick this puppy in your boom-box and grab the Kleenex... |
From: koogles | Date: February 24, 2004 at 17:13 |
More polished than a porn star's knob! Hilarious, but true. Whereas the debut was AOR perfection with some grandiose leanings (similar to Zinatra's 'The Great Escape'), 'Infinity' sent Robby into the stratosphere of over-the-top pomp-bastic AOR. Once the hooks get inside your hS AOR FOREVER!!!!!! |

Perfect artist in every sense especialy for Queen and progressive kinda AOR fans who like that style. If you are interested e-mail wildangelfree69@hotmail.com There are also all his albums available. |
From: TIM (2) | Date: May 12, 2004 at 4:51 |
This is the stuff. With barely a duff song on his first 2 CD's, and with some of the most amazing keyboard sounds ever put on to CD. Even my girlfriend (who loves modern nu-breed rock) loves it. Although she still genuinely thinks its a woman singing! I would probably give the S/T debut the slight edge, but this is still magnificent with 'Only Your Love' and 'No Turning Back' my faves. Roll on his (now delayed) new CD... |

Without a doubt one of my all time favourite albums and the one that got me into the magic music of Mr. Valentine. If you buy this make sure to lay your hands on the japanese edition including his “Valentine Overture Part 2” (not available elsewhere), a rock opera running about 11 minutes, awesome stuff!!! On the other side you can find the most classic AOR tracks recorded in the 90´s, VERY polished, BIG production, you can pick out every song as a single.IMO the sound and feeling is similar |
From: Harald | Date: July 27, 2004 at 10:49 |
to JOURNEY´s “Frontiers”, very powerful but clean. If you like this albums you will buy all his other CD´s soon afterwards, promised!!! Favorite tracks “No Turning Back” another mini rock opera, “Wild Child”, “I Need You Love”and “Only Your Love” (killer AOR tunes!!!) , the title track and “Megaman” which are powerful melodic rockers with HUGE choruses and “Don´t Make Me Wait Forever” and “Raise Your Hands” can be described as faultless ballads, with again, huge choruses. |
From: Geoff | Date: August 26, 2004 at 6:34 |
Oh the joys of 'Only your love' - like the finer points of Zinatra all over again! Once again, I'm not too into the over the top moments, but when he's doing good melodic hard rock stuff I am breathless. Some great tunes! |
From: Corey | Date: September 23, 2004 at 14:22 |
Why the score is so low?!?!?!?!? It must be some asshole voting over and over to get this cd down. fuck you idiot! This is a masterpiece , if you don`t like, respect other people`s job! |

Can't decide which I prefer, this one or the debut,as both are outstanding albums. Definately try to get the superior Japanese versions with the bonus tracks, especially this one, as it has the mega 'Valentine's Overture pt2'. Both parts of Valentine's Overture are also avaliable on the 'Megaman' CD-S if you can track them down. |
From: Frank | Date: April 16, 2005 at 15:07 |
Yeah, this really is a masterpiece Jez. This music is taking me to another planet, excellent stuff throughout. 10/10 |
From: ArnoldLancelot | Date: May 25, 2005 at 13:18 |
Far better than the first one, but with the same problem to me. It definetly shows that Robby is a genious, but songwriting and production aside, the true aor songs are few among 14 of them. For those who don't know this artist: to me, huge Queen influences here and in the first one(wich can be amazing if that's what you're looking for) but aside a few songs, nothing to do with masters like Strangeways, early FM, Stan Bush, Van Stephenson, China Sky, Shy, Treat, Refugee and so on... |

Very Good Melodic Rock/AOR, Quiza por eso no lo comente en su debido tiempo a diferencia del primero que es un 10 redondo este no llega a ese status aunque claro tiene cortes con estilo casi perfecto ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The ballads are IMHO not so good in this one but the rockers are GREAT! 'The Magic Infinity', 'Only Your Love', 'No Turning Back', 'Wild Child' and 'Mega-Man' are soooo cool songs but the best one is 'Valentine´s Overture Part 2 (A Martian On Earth)'. That one really smokes! |
From: biurri | Date: April 27, 2008 at 16:28 |
From: swissmelodic | Date: January 1, 2011 at 12:46 |
Again & again inspired me the great variety in this great pomp-AOR album. As if Michael Jackson's sweet voice to interpret Queen-like rock songs mixed with end 80'Melodic-Rock. The slightly prog-Pop influenced CD ist for everyone who likes Zinatra, Bad Habit or Treat. I recommend the Japan pressing with the 2 bonus tracks. 10/10 |
