Heavy Harmonies Review
From: Dan Date: March 16, 2003 at 4:51
A long-awaited reissue of an obscure westcoast classic, featuring contributions from ex-members of Scandi AOR great Skagarack. The album was originally released in 1991, but received extremely limited distribution. This Danish collaboration kicks out an extremely infectious brand of "lite" AOR. Very melodic, full of rich harmonies. The production is quite good as well; "lush" would be a good descriptor.

The disc does seem quite poppy at times, which may turn off some, but it doesn't bother me in the least. One of the things that this album cannot be accused of is being formulaic. The use of hooks and melodies is quite non-traditional at times, yet never straying too far from traditional Scandi AOR and westcoast styles. If you like melodic AOR on the lighter side, definitely check this one out!

Rating: 89/100

Thanks for reviewing this disc and bringing it to my attention. A very playable album. For me; quite the breath of fresh air.

The only song I have from these guys is 'In Your Eyes' and it's amazing. I can't wait to hear the rest of this one.

This is one of those seemingly criminally overlooked releases, even with a re-issue a few years back. Shame on you all, as this is right up there with the others in the Scandie Westcoast genre. So much to recommend on this - try the very Jojo like 'Keep On Waiting' or the Mark Spiro like 'Once In A Lifetime' for starters. Other names that spring up from time to time are obviously Toto and bits of Harlan Cage aswell. Do yourself a real favour and track this one down ,I promise you will not regret.

Another beautiful Westcoast AOR album!! Very enjoyable, smooth and fine Lite AOR. Excellent songs, ballads and mid tempos with everything what people like me and you, addicted lovers of this especific and harmonic AOR style will Love!. My favorite tracks in this album are: "You Could be The Last", "Keep On Waiting", "In Your Eyes" and the amazing beautiful ballad "I´ll Love You Forever", oh man what a song!. Very recomended specially to the lovers of Westcoast (bands like 2 AM, L.A. Cowboys, Bridge To Far and Chicago)

Rafo has seen the light also I absolutely love the powerfull opening Track (2) Keep on Waiting, You could be the Last is a brilliant mid tempo song. Good vocals ! Talk too much and In your Eyes are excellent song.Man these guys coud write a tune. Just for my liking a few too many ballads

An example of perfect production and arrangement for this kind of music. The way this sounds through a good (expensive) music installation...! And the song writing quality and musical ability match this perfectly, what a treat !!! Not a weak song to find here, my personal highlights being Keep On Waiting, Talk Too Much, Give It From The Heart, In Your Eyes,...

From: rick kerch vzla Date: November 5, 2010 at 20:12
Obviously this is a pleasant album 4 sure...smooth & catchy Westcoast AOR with some hints of Pop and Hi-Tech here and there...all the good comments above say it all but adding the tracks,my fave ones were "Keep On Waiting" a highlight,"You Could Be The Last" is an excellent nice piece of AOR,"Talk To Much" is a catchy song,"Love Don't Come Easy" is a smoothie jewel, solid,"The World Keeps On Turning" has some bit of a rockin' feel, also catchy,"Give It From The Heart" is a killer semi-soft song,"In Your Eyes" perfect!,"Once In A Lifetime" beautiful..there is a song named "Drommer Om Dig"("Dreams About You")that is not here on this release but is quite another goodie softy one,is sang in their native language (danish)...if you are into the likes of Toto,Glass Tiger,Alias and even Skagarack(in a lighter version) then you might like this duo...91/100

What!? What's up here huh!? nobody names the perfect song here?. "YOU COULD BE THE LAST"!!!! This is THE SONG here! I just CAN'T STOP to listening this infectious and catchy song the rest is just good like the ballad "I'll Love You Forever" or "In Your Eyes" but nothing like YOU COULD BE THE LAST! Dan reviewed perfectly here 89/100

Usually don't post anything else on site but this album is so awesome and I did an exception. Where is my friend Dieter of Target rec.? You made a real masterpiece-repress, thanks mate!

From: Z4roxx Date: April 9, 2020 at 9:12
...and the bonus track in 2001 re-issue is simply awesome. Unique westcoast/melodic rock with a poppish touch.

From: Z4roxx Date: April 9, 2020 at 12:15
Robert Pancur was Target Records' owner, not Dieter. The forced reclusion is bringing myself to madness :-)

very good release for PARBER &KERSTEIN back in the early 90 s that didnt make any impact even though it had the quality to satisfy fans who like the softer side of melodic rock!sometimes they reminded me of TOTO and some times especially in the guitar lines & solos of GIANT!good stuff
