This album was going back to the roots of Mitch and back to the stylings of the first album. It falls shotr of that lofty goal and is a disapointment for me. The songs are ther and that is about it, nothing very memorable about any of them. It is good he realizes that a change must be made to a style with more punch, maybe next time.

¿donde esta el 2º?

Ya, Robert. Ni puta idea del segundo disco. De fet ya he visto en mas de úna discografía de esta web que faltan álbumes.

Finally free from the record company interventions that ruined "Ceilings and Walls", he was able to make a better follow-up to his awesome debut. The production's weaker, but the songs are all there. Check out his 'Malloy 88' release of early demos too, as some excellent tracks to be found on that. I can't believe he'll be playing at my local pub in September, in front of about 50 people. Should've been Wembley Stadium. 8/10.

Though not as good as the debut, this is a fine collection of melodic rock and much better than that awful second album. Good solid rock album. A few songs here could have even hit the charts given the right connections... perhaps in the same place where Shawn Mullins 'Everywhere I go' made whatever slight impact it did?

Been picking up Malloys albums in recent months & unusually I have picked them up in order,so was a bit wary of buying this one after the dreadful Ceilings & walls, but so glad I did. Ok,its nowhere near as good as the debut album but at least he's rocking out again!

Hey CC , be sure to pick up Malloy 88. Really good bunch of early songs from Mitch. Anyone here who can add the cd to the site?

This is a nice album, not as good as the first one, but nice. The song "Love Made a Liar Out of Me" appears in a movie, but I don't know witch one.Could somebody help me remember?

Muy buen album de Rock bien Melódico con sonido actual pero con una producción que no ayuda. Buena voz la de Mr. Malloy que recuerda a la de Curci, album bien parejo con sus temas en plan baladas y otras melódicas que no varían mucho. "Draw the Line" y "Places Only Love Can Go" baladas buenas o "Never Give Up on You" "You Lift Me" "Shadow in the Dark" por nombrar algunas. Recomendado. 8/10

very good release by Mitch and i believe that this should be the right follow up of his cracking debut!excellent melodies, accurate vocals and the only problem is that i needed some rockier tunes .highlights are "love s own hand","you lift me","it s about love".overall SHINE is a nice hard rock release

Not mellow but neither an extremely Hard Rocking/AORing one,i quite liked it though especially the tracks "Never Give Up On You" & "Shadow In The Dark" that are the best cuts in here and bring some essence of his debut album one way or another...opening track "You Lift Me" it can lift you good surely!,"It's About Love","Love Made A Liar Out Of Me"(catchy),"Save Me"(rocks!),"Love's Own Hand" & "When I Try" are also pretty worth ones too...recommended stuff...85/100

I must admit just from the beginning of my comment that this was a slight disappointment to me. Common pop/classic rock sometimes with fragrance of aor, country or alternative rock. In compare to previous albums, here are weaker production and also song-writing. But IMO if you like Phil Naro, Rick Springfield or Harry Hess you might excuse that (like I did). Nice but nothing special and that's pity because I suppose there was a potentiality that is demonstrated by last two songs which are awesome (paradoxically no ifo about them in the booklet - last moment addition?).75/100.
