Very good melodic hard rock, packed with big AOR hooks, catchy choruses, and heaps of harmony vocals, quite similar to early Harem Scarem, and definitely the band's strongest release to date. Production is perfect, ultra-professional with a clean, tight, polished sound. Any fan of high quality melodic rock should thoroughly enjoy great songs like "Should Have Been Me," "Taboo," & "Strange Animal." This one is definitely worth owning.

"Helllllooooo, Newman". That's what you should be saying to this release, if you're looking to unlock your door to some fresh 90s AOR. "One Step Closer" the leadoff track is a huge anthem in the style of Total Stranger, Fair Warning, Norway, 101 South, Face Face etc.

Heavier than the debut and the sound comes off sounding a million dollars. If a fan of melodic hard rock can turn their back on the first two tracks, especially 'One step closer', I question their tastes. Amazing first song, massive sound. 'Fire of love' and 'Joanne' are two other spectacular highlights. Truly killer album with few poor moments. Highly recommended.

Posiblemente sea su mejor album pero el Dance In The Fire es otro tremendo album estos dos no bajan de un 9 como puntuacion para un degustador de lo mejor.

Every single album issued by this man really rocks. It is really appreciable the work in it. The first song in this release is pretty outstanding: well-constructed riffs, good keyboard-driven and the voice is hooking as well. Considering these days, Newman does really make an effort to strengthen the Melodic Rock scene and we indeed appreciate it so much. Many thanks!! 9,5/10

A very good and interesting follow up to the self titled debut..."One Step Closer" is the best cut for me but there are some other great ones such as "Don't Walk Away","Taboo"(rocks),"Fire Of Love"(nice),"The Call"(great song!)& "Joanne"(catchy mid tempo)...enjoyable and recommendable...85/100

Where hs this been hiding? I got the first three Newman albums at the same time recently and this is easily the best of them. This one seems to have that certain something that the others lack. My picks are One Step Closer: great melody, rhythm and solo; Newman's vocals sound slightly strained on Don't Walk Away but I still really like this; Judgement Day: great atmosphere and bass; SHould've Been Me: easily my favourite, a super ballad with brilliant guitars and emotion; Fire of Love: a very decent rocker; and finally The Call with its heavy riff. The vocals are a little strained at times but the songwriting and musicianship more than makes up for it.
