Probably the first really great hard rock album!!! What a band!!!

From: Darren Date: July 11, 2001 at 23:11
Awesome stuff...i grew up with this album..unfortunately they really lost their rock edge when Jimi Jameson joined them..Dave Bickler was great..hope he returns...

From: koogles Date: June 24, 2002 at 19:39
Breakthrough stuff, thanks to the boxing ditty. I'll take Tommy Shaw's version of "Ever Since The World Began" over this one and I'll take "Caught in the Game" over "Eye" anyday. Still, this is a world class album and, despite some filler, regularily rocks my world, even in 2002.

From: D Date: July 29, 2002 at 7:19
I just recently picked up this album. It really is fantastic. Classic eighties rock feel and sound with the epic guitar solo's included. It's one of the few albums I have where I can Honestly say i liked all the tracks from start to finish. Tracks 4 & 7 i think were my favourites..is track four that fades out with the really long solo? Great stuff! I will definately be aquiring the other albums!

The song Burning Heart was done for the Rocky IV soundtrack and can be found on different Survivor - Greatest hits or Best Of CD's.

This is an amazing album!!!! Bickler is an excellent singer as well as Jamison... I realy can't tell which Survivor era I prefer most!!!! All Survivor albums are awesome!!!! Do not pay attention only to the eternal rock diamond "Eye Of The Tiger", cause the album has other rock dynamites like "Hesitation Dance", "The One That Really Matters" & "American Heartbeat"!!! Also the ballads "I'm Not That Man Anymore" and "Ever Since the World Began" are just fantastic!!!! A rock diamond!!!!

From: QuarterBoy Date: January 31, 2005 at 17:56
Anyone knows who produced this album? Production sounds great. My Eye of the tiger CD doesn't have any info, just a blank page instead of a proper booklet.

From: Swriter Date: February 5, 2005 at 17:34
If I would have to choose the all time AOR Release, I will choose this one, at this point, music was in a transitional time and this album was one of the first sucessful rock releases of the time. I think it was very influential of the period that came after. Skip by Eye of the Tiger and listen to the rest of this album. Amazing

"IAM NOT THAT MAN ANYMORE" WHAT AN OUTSTANDING ANTHEM!!!

From: swriter Date: November 11, 2005 at 17:51
my fav Survivor, finally upgraded my cassette and vinyl, this entire album is amazing, American Hearbeat, Feel like Love, Hesitation, The One that really Matters, Children, and the great ballads, I'm not that man and World began, amazing stuff

From: PAUL Date: November 12, 2005 at 10:57
Hi swriter - This is indeed an excellent album, not as good as "vital signs" or "when seconds count" but remains a very very strong release! Jim, Frankie and Mark are back and have signed to frontiers records for the release of a new studio album in the spring of 2006! I believe these musicians have the talent yet to create the Aor album of the new millennium!

Maybe the best Survivor album and surely the most rocking. We all know Eye of the tiger but there are more gems in this album. I'm not that man anymore is my favorite Survivor song. Fantastic melodies and a really powerful song. Children of the night is their heavier song ever, I love that one too. And Bickler's version on the divine ballad Ever since the world began is better than the Tommy Shaw cover, though I love Shaw's voice. Anyone who doesn't have or appreciate that album should be banned from Rockland hehe!

From: Faron Date: August 28, 2009 at 19:01
Excellent album, only got into Survivor after hearing the track - Eye Of The Tiger, courtesy of Rocky 3. To be honest I always skip this overplayed classic, the highlights for me are - Feels Like Love, The One That Really Matters, I`m Not That Man Anymore, Ever Since The World Began and Silver Girl!

From: 707STAR Date: March 4, 2012 at 1:01
THIS IS THEIR 2ND BEST LP. LOTS OF GREAT MUSIC HERE. EYE OF THE TIGER BEING THEIR BIGGEST SONG EVER. TRULY ANOTHER MASTERPIECE OF MUSIC ASSEMBLED FROM THESE GUYS. THIS BAND HAD HEART THROUGH THEIR MUSIC. THE LYRICS SAY IT ALL. I LOVE THIS BAND. I,VE SEEN THEM LIVE SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY PUT ON A SHOW.

From: edwithmj Date: March 4, 2013 at 7:17
Terrific album. The title track, is of course overplayed but is actually done better live in my opinion. Feels Like Love is a nice fast-paced ballad and the other highlights are I'm Not That Man Anymore and Ever Since The World Began. Interestingly, Ever Since The World Began was rerecorded with Jimi Jamison on vocals for the Stallone film, Lock Up and appears in full in that film's end credits. If anyone wants this version, contact me on the message board.

From: DazBuFF Date: November 6, 2016 at 15:17
is the bonus track on the rock candy reissue an extended mix or ???

The album with the song that put the band at the top (u know the one i'm talking 'bout) ..."Feels Like Love" & "The One That Really Matters" are my faves...tracks 1(classic!),7(beautiful)& 8 are also on my list.85/100

From: tomdwa Date: March 28, 2020 at 10:21
This launched them to worldwide star status. Besides the hit title track, Ever since the world began and American heartbeat stand out here.
