Love these guys, wish you would do the re-union show Thanks for the music guys

This is some of the best metal music out there--once you get "Nursery Crymes" or "Prelude to War" in your head, they won't go away; and "Broken Hearts, Broken Roads" is a truly haunting ballad. I never saw them in person, but I have two home movies of Misty Rox, and their live performances--no matter the singer--are amazing. John's drum playing is top-notch, and the guitar work--Ron is truly one of the best, and a talented writer as well. If you can, grab this CD--it is well worth it.

Saw these guys over a 4 year period, must say the got better with age. Lot's of rockin going on. Loved there covers of Fade to Black and that long sabb' song they put together. You guys rocked always

Thanks Dan! This is great to see. Been along time coming! They have a little webpage going but more will follow, check out: http://www.geocities.com/shotgunner1_2000/ Misty_Rox_picture_page_1.html.html

From: Dale Reynolds Date: April 15, 2001 at 14:29
Cheesy production, it sounds like it was made on a 4 track recorder in somebody's basement. Vocals and guitar solos are off key. Good fun band though, fun to watch and party with, but that's about it. If they had spent more money on it this recording would have been much better. Not pro quality sounding at all.

From: Mike D. Date: April 15, 2001 at 14:49
Nursery Crymes was never put out on CD, it was on tape only and might have sold 200 copies. Rox never made big headlines or played in big places, only worked with bigger band Grimm Jack a few times and had some good connections. Rox shouldn't really be on this site with other big name acts because Rox never was much more than a bar band. Anybody who tells you otherwise is lying. I know because I was there.

From: Mary Hughes Date: April 15, 2001 at 15:37
Good bar band that played good covers and had some decent originals. "Crymes" sounds very low budget and Wayne's voice was off key. Nice guys who had a good amount of talent but never when anywhere with it. Was it released on CD? Nowak bros. have band now called "Old Buddy Jack." Was it Mike Duffy who posted above? If so, heya Duffster!

From: Lee Davis Date: April 15, 2001 at 15:49
Great party type band who played good songs. Buff and John Nowak gave the band guts. Record sounds like it was made for fifty bucks but has some cool songs on it. Not the best band to ever come out of Ohio Valley area but always put on a good show.

From: Angie Date: April 15, 2001 at 15:53
Really nice guys who were good musicians and had songs that were decent. Average tape, not really good quality sound. Average band overall.

From: Aaron Malone Date: April 15, 2001 at 16:02
Rox was an entertaining live band. Good songs and talent, even though "Crymes" lacks in production it's still worth a listen. Rox went thru several lineups and each version was enjoyable. Good band and good guys, and should be remembered for the good times they gave the people who saw them. And no, it was never released on CD. maddogaaron@hotmail.com

From: Larry Murphy Date: April 15, 2001 at 16:42
'Nursery Crimes" has crappy production. Lead guitar is way off key on several solos, and vocals are overpowering and drown out music on some songs. Sounds like this one was mixed in the men's room at Kmart by a janitor. Good band and great guys. Saw them live a lot and it was always a good time. Great live act but their studio work was disappointing. Sorry guys, I liked you a lot, but I have to be honest here. "Crymes" sounded really cheap.

From: Kelley Date: April 15, 2001 at 16:46
I bought this tape and listened to it until it wouldn't play no more. I think it sounds pretty good for a band that never did much, and I loved seeing them live. Good memories of them at Rosa Lees and Swing Club opening for Grimm Jack. Buff and John were too cool. Best song on this one is "Broken"

From: Scott E Date: April 15, 2001 at 17:25
Misty's NC was not the best sounding. But they put on a hell of a show. The out of tune guitar is one reason Mike was replaced (just fact). We played with them a couple times, when Tim Dofka joined for the last two years they rocked and Kevin (?) they sounded their best. Sorry Mike missed the real good times, is that live picture with Jim Dofka playing? I rememember him doing that, where was that? Wow so cool! They have a place in H/Metal history just as the rest of us do.Thanks MR, metal rules!

From: Charlie Date: April 15, 2001 at 17:47
Decent band with decent songs. Nothing really memorable about 'Nursery Crimes." It's average music with under average production. Buff and John Nowak moved on to better things. They were the real talent in this band with no doubts. Never understood why such a great band like Grimm Jack helped out these guys when there was better bands around. Must be because the guys in Misty were so cool. Nice guys with no egos who were the first to admit it if they did a bad gig. Nowaks kept Misty alive.

From: Christy Date: April 15, 2001 at 17:56
Buff and John made this band worth seeing. The other guys were good, but the Nowak boys gave the band balls. They had good songs and a pretty good tape, even tho it sounds kind of cheap. I always had fun seeing them live. I liked their style of music better than heavier bands around and would go see them again if they do a reunion. Thanks Aaron for info about this site.

From: Jeff Bailey Date: April 15, 2001 at 18:07
Saw Rox open for Grimm Jack in Wheeling,WV 12/90. They were an enjoyable warm up act and put on a good show. I was disappointed with their studio work, and in my opinion "Nusery Crymes" sounds like a cheap demo. It should never have been released until it was improved. Rox was a really good live act though--high score on the live performance. Check out my Grimm Jack site at: www.geocities.com/bloozerocker/GrimmJack.htm

From: Eddie Date: April 15, 2001 at 18:32
Saw this band in Parkerburgh, WV with Tim singing. He sucked bad. It sounded like an alligator had a hold of his nuts. Kaluger looked like he belonged in Molly Hatchet, and posers Buff and John should have been in Poison. Duffy was a preppie with long hair. The band got better later on, but Nusery Crimes was a waste. Saw them with Kevin later and they were much better. Still only average.

From: Holly Sears Date: April 15, 2001 at 23:05
Broken Hearts/Roads good tune. Lunchbox funny sex song. John-great drummer/buff-great bass player/ Wayne-good voice but he's nuts/Duffy-cute and good on guitar/Ron- nice guy who played damn ugly God awful pissy yellow guitar/tape didn't have much bass in it/band was fun to watch/one of the best bar bands from the valley ever!

From: Phil Date: April 16, 2001 at 13:17
Nice bunch of guys but this recording was not the best they could have done. Don't really see why they are on this site because this space is for PRO bands who did something in the business. Misty was good but was just a local band who played out of area sometimes. Kaluger and Wayne always exaggerated and made Misty seem bigger than they ever were but we know the truth. They didn't do any big tours or sell many tapes. There big "record contract" was a sham because the company they "signed"

From: Phil again Date: April 16, 2001 at 13:25
there "deal" with was just a little company that booked bands and thats all. Misty really was good sometimes and had there moments. Whoever sent this info to the website here is obviously trying to make Misty into more than it ever was. Face reality and go on with life-your band was good and it's over with now. You were never in the class with other bands on this site. Start your own site if you want to 'impress" people with your past. I bet the Nowaks wouldn't have wanted Misty here.

From: Doug Date: April 16, 2001 at 13:39
I saw Misty a few times, different people each time. They got better as they went. I knew Buff and John better and at the time they thought this was great. To whoever this Phil is above here, get a life! Don't speak for Buff and John unless you are them. And what info was wrong? This site is for bands, that is it just bands. Some other bands on here are not as popular and others are. I am not hear to fight with anybody. It's just that they went through this negative crap years ago when they -

From: Doug some more Date: April 16, 2001 at 13:46
they played and "WE" everybody here that has posted paid to see them at one time or another. True they were the best they ever sounded with the last group of guys in there. Besides Jim Dofka would not have played a show or two with them if they sucked. Once they added Tim Dofka they whole band changed. This site is to say good or bad true, but any band that staps on a guitar and played as long as they did and recorded and sold is ok to be here. From Mikes post, he still sounds mad. Thanks guys!

From: Doug one more Date: April 16, 2001 at 13:51
I did not LOVE MISTY but they were not as bad as some here would want to say. They filled the bars when they played. And Grimm saw something in Misty. Other bands in the area were worse, anybody ever see DB Rocker? Need I say more. I never liked a few bands around there but I would not go to a site they are on and downgrade them in front of the world. WHO needs to get a life?

From: Phil Date: April 16, 2001 at 15:48
Doug, perhaps you should spend time reading what I posted instead of running your mouth off first. I never said anything about info being WRONG, I did say whoever submitted the info was trying to make this band more than they were. As for getting a life, I never said that either. My comment was that whoever is trying to IMPRESS people with fake info like what was posted on this site's Grimm Jack pages about Ron winning some "rythym player of the year award" and such needs to GO ON WITH LIFE.

From: Still Phil Date: April 16, 2001 at 15:57
As for the info posted on the GJ pages it almost seemed like somebody felt Mad Dog Malone insulted Ron and had to make up some crap about him to let people think he was something more than he was. Maybe Ron posted it himself-who knows. If a GJ member had posted that he would have left his name. Somebody's going to a lot of effort to make Misty seem bigger than they ever were with that fake info about Ron and now by putting them on there own pages. Be careful-it's easy to verify truth.

From: Mike Marker Date: April 16, 2001 at 16:52
I saw Misty Rox open with GJ in Huntington when they had Tim singing. They improved 100 fold when Wayne Grant took over on vocals. I also saw them again in Wheeling. They were awesome in Wheeling. Loved the hell outta the Nursery Crimes tape. Broken Hearts & Broken Roads was one the best track on the tape. Shame this band didn't put out any other material.

From: Matt Date: April 16, 2001 at 23:30
"Nursery" was weak on quality but the songs were pretty good. Sounds like it was made on a really low budget. Only saw them once in P-burgh with Brick Mistress and they were a decent live band.

From: RON K. Date: April 17, 2001 at 5:40
To Phil & Doug, Please stop the fighting here or it will be lock out like GJ’s is now. 1 Yes you are right the recording could have and should have been better. It is not what some of us wanted. 2 Your comments about “PRO”, come on, a pro’ is anybody that gets paid for what they are doing to entertain, we got paid thank you. 3 Wayne & I ALWAYS exaggerated? WE talked about what we wanted, as did other bands, we had good connections and had we done things differently, we may have been bigger. Plus

From: RON K. Date: April 17, 2001 at 5:42
. Plus Wayne was not in as long as you may think he was. 4 Words like “Sham” are a little strong from someone who was not in the band at all. Mike Duffy has a right to post what he did, he is still mad; it shows in his posting here. The way that happened to him was handled wrong I admit that. Where you in any band meetings? Where you at my house when the guys from Grimm stayed there for a few weekends, as we talked about what we were going to do? Where you there when John I’s came and stayed at

From: Ron again Date: April 17, 2001 at 5:43
John I’s came and stayed at my house 3 or 4 times? I don’t remember you there. 5 I have said all along, if we would have had Kevin – Tim Dofka – Buff - John and myself from the start, it may have been different then it was. This website is for most bands that put out a cd or a tape, and played. Your remarks about not being “in a Class” with other bands here, well sorry my friend you need to listen to every song on here before you can make that call.

From: Ron again Date: April 17, 2001 at 5:43
6 You would bet the Nowak’s would not have wanted Misty here? I will take that bet! They both had songs on the tape also. Buff did the cover art and the backdrop and the t-shirts and the bass drum art the list continues. John and I going around to different shows passing out flyers for a show from us, and John talking to “EVERYBODY” (I swear he knew everyone) about what we were doing or where we were playing next. And AT THE TIME we all loved doing what we were doing. John and Buff did some grea

From: Ron still Date: April 17, 2001 at 5:45
John and Buff did some great things in Misty, and now in their own band. I wish those two the best of luck with anything they do, John and I where like brothers, Buff and I got along great, yes we fought but we had a blast doing what we did. When they released “Home Brew” I got a package in the mail from Buff and John with the cd and some other things. Buff, John, Tim, Kevin and I did it to have fun and to entertain. And we did both. I would say they would not have a problem with Misty beinghere

From: Ron still Date: April 17, 2001 at 5:46
Matter of fact I forwarded this site to them. 7 I assure you I have posted on this page and GJ’s as Ron or Ron K that is it. I apparently have someone out there that liked what I did to post stuff like the “award” I even wrote that never happened on that site. I have been in contact with Aaron now since that started and we have traded e-mails and info. Somebody did take what he said wrong, I cannot help that. And I did not post that stuff there like you suggested I might have done. I have been s

I have been sitting back and reading this till it started to get into a fight with you and Doug, and I do not know who he is either btw. I am starting a Misty website, you do not have to go to it if you don’t like us. But there were many people the signed our fan club book (ask Buff & John) that would still like to hear from us or something from us musically. The live recording with the last line up is still here on tape, and it really does sound good. That may be a “soon to be” project. And in

Please understand I am not picking on you as this may seem, but when somebody who was not in the band “Knows” everything, I have to try to set the record straight. Aaron and Jeff have had and still have contact with the right people their source’s are true. Nobody is trying to make Misty seem bigger then they were, they were just put on a site with the correct info on the info page, that is it. People post here to what they liked or disliked, but any way you put it, Misty had a blast playing. Yo

From: Ron 1more Date: April 17, 2001 at 5:56
Misty had a blast playing. You are right, it is easy to verify the truth, and I was there from day 1 till the last day. Everybody, thank you for posting here, good or bad, we enjoyed playing for all of you, no matter where you saw us. Thanks for the good times. I am sorry to post this here but I had no email for this Phil and Doug. Misty Rox was an excellent bar band. Yes, Nursery Crymes wasn't the best sound quality, but the live music was great. It's too bad that they broke up just when the band was finally coming into their own musically. The lastl line up of musicians was they had was the best ever. I'm sure they would have went far.... Miss you guys!!!! Loved your music.1111

From: J.D. Isaacs Date: April 17, 2001 at 21:27
Better than average collection of songs from energetic and always enjoyable live act. Talented musicians with an urge to make music for fun and good times. The mix is something to be desired, but the material still shines. Let's give Mike, Ron, John, Buff, and Wayne an 'A' for effort and a thanks for giving people good times and memories. Worth a listen, and worth remembering. --John David Isaacs/ formerly with X2000 Productions/ johnnyrocker@hotmail.com/ Thanks for the info Aaron.

'92 Wheeling, Shelly's, had a beer ball on stage, I got sprayed, Wet tee shirt? and they just kicked butt that night! You guys were great

From: Michelle Date: April 18, 2001 at 16:00
Good fun band with nice guys in it. There tape sounded good to me. It may not have been 'pro' like Maiden or somebody but it was good for who they was. Seen them several times and was always good. Good memories from that band and good times at Rosa Lees and Shellys. Ron said on the Grim Jack page Buff wants a reunion show and I'd like to see that to.

From: lady, again Date: April 18, 2001 at 23:43
Duh...I'm so used to typing CD that I went on autopilot and put that instead of tape--my bad. Anyway...sure, the recording quality might not be perfect, but the undeniable talents of Ron, John, Buff, and Wayne shines through anyway. It doesn't take away from their expertise as musicians at all. I still say that once you get these songs in your head, they don't go away. And yes--the last line-up of Ron, Kevin, Tim, John, and Buff was the best. I say they should do a reunion show!

From: Stacy S Date: April 19, 2001 at 5:09
Saw these guys at Shelly's also when the beer ball was sprayed. Beer was sprayed all over. Great time for all and they kicked ass that night! I remember talking to Ron and Tim at the bar, something about the dressing room. One thing they did was give you a great show and they had the talent. Some people here must not have known them to well. Misty, one more show would not be to "hard" to do would it? I still have the t'shirt and things. Even a yellow cup for beer! love you all!

From: Eric Date: April 19, 2001 at 11:35
Pretty good bar band with good guys who could play good. I liked 'Lunchbox" and "Broken Hearts' myself but didn't care for the other songs too much. I seen them a few times and had fun.

From: Carl Hefft Date: April 21, 2001 at 13:34
Hey this is cool to see a band from the valley on here with all the big name bands. I thought Rox was a good band and I seen them about 5 times. I got there tape and I still like it. It don't sound big time but the songs are good ones and they put on a good show.

From: Joey Politi Date: April 23, 2001 at 12:51
Cool band who could really rock but there tape didnot sound really too good. They had good songs but they was better at shows than there tape is and it''s average but they was a good band anyways.

From: Glen Date: April 23, 2001 at 14:19
This band was a cool one and did some cool songs. One of the best bands in Wheeling area of all time. "King's Men" sounds like a Maiden song. Thanks Joey for telling me about this.

From: Brady Date: April 23, 2001 at 16:23
Kings men was cool but Prelude to War kicked ass, sounded like Metallica, well it did with the last bunch of guys playing live. They were a great band.

From: me Date: April 29, 2001 at 11:07
my real name is tony gillespie and I say you sucked because nobody got as many vote's as you did-not even def leppard so you must of payed somebody to vote for you or done it yourself or maybe that brandon guy done it for you

From: Brandon Date: April 29, 2001 at 15:12
Hey tony gillespie, First I was never in this band, and I have voted only two times, both 9's and I have not seen any of these guys in 10 years. And if they got these votes oh well, some bands do have a following. Even GWAR could get votes here. I saw MR play many times and they kicked ass sorry if you are so closed minded you can't see that. It's all good, plenty of band on this site, go find one.

From: Chris Date: April 29, 2001 at 15:55
misty rox sucked big time without buff and john novak . they were the real talent in that but tim dofka was good too. ron should have played country music because he looks like boceephus and if misty rox gets to gether again buff and john should not be part of it because they are in a much better band now.

From: Paul / St.C Date: April 29, 2001 at 18:11
I would like to see Misty one more time, I have heard about this site from some friends. Chris, I do not think John and Buff would stop OBJ, but it would be nice to see Misty do a one time reunion show. I got to see Misty's first show ever in St.C with everybody but that Ron guy was different. That was in Nov '86. And I saw them almost everytime they were in the Wheeling area. The last group of guys was the best. That is the line up that should do just a one nighter for "us" who liked them.

Ok folks, everyone needs to settle down a bit. This page is active again, but the rankings have been set back to 1 vote. Ballot-stuffing is a no-no. As for Phil's comments about pro vs. non-pro, I'm afraid he's slightly incorrect: there are any number of minor-label, independent, or self-produced efforts on the site. And as long as the genres are apt, they are all welcome. Every band was small at one point, not everyone has a budget, and talent is in the ear of the beholder. Carry on...

I think these music sites are funny. The guitar player for old buddy jack(jason)turned me on to them. This is better than the soaps.By the way I don`t want anyone to link the guitar work on this tape to my playing.I came in after the recording and only played the few live shows that they had left. The lead guitar work on this tape belongs to Mike Duffy. Also Ron is a exellent rhythem player he made the band sound full at the shows.Hi Ron Good by,Tim Dofka

You're right! I just downloaded a Misty Rox file from Napster, "Misty Rox cover of Mr. Crowley '92". Been waiting for this to happen...thanks!

From: Ron K Date: May 7, 2001 at 11:42
Please, this is just a way to get it out to everyone now, Please forgive the sound quality, it was just done fast from a jam box to one mic. The real cd "Live '92" will sound much, much better. But I wanted to get a sample out there for now. Thanks everyone, hope to see you if we do a one night show.

From: Mary Hughes Date: May 7, 2001 at 14:45
Napster now? I just checked and couldn't find Rox listed any place on Napster. I'm curious about something-who is the person using the name 'lady' who keeps posting messages here and on the OBJ and GJ sites? Do I know you? If so email me-you know who I am.

From: lady Date: May 7, 2001 at 20:45
Hello Mary...I'm afraid you must have me confused with someone else...but nice to meet you anyway! I found another Misty Rox file on Napster, "Misty Rox 1987 release Cold And Lonely Nights". If anyone would like either file, I am on Napster now (10:41 PM Central Time) and you can download it from me.

From: lisa Date: May 10, 2001 at 11:27
your tape suck bad but you was a ok band to see at the bars. the drummer was good and the guy who played bass was ok but the fat guy who played the yellow guitar was not realy good. you done gone songs and i seen you at shellys bar. tim dokfa was cool and was the best one in youre band.

I apologise; something is not right on my Napster program and I cannot share any files. I am trying to resolve this; I'm waiting to hear from Napster to see what is wrong. I'll let you know when I get everything up and running again.

From: lisa Date: May 10, 2001 at 11:48
yes its my opinon and tim dokfa was cool and he still is real cool and i'm not sorry i feel that way about him. who are you real misty fan anyway? are you the guy who played the yellow guitar and so you said that because i made you made when i said you was fat,,,,? your tape did suck but you was a ok band to go see.

From: Derek Kered Date: May 10, 2001 at 12:00
Ron K is the best guitar player from the valley ever. He rules and both Dofkas suck compared to him. Ron is IT and you all should know it. He WAS Misty Rox and that band was nothing without him....He had chances of making it big but the other losers held him back. He could have been the next guitar god but picked family instead. Ron is THE MAN. Wake up and see it,,,,hear it,, know it,,,,it is fact!!!!!!!! All guitar players in the valley were jealous of his yellow ESP and wanted it. Ron Rules!

From: lisa Date: May 10, 2001 at 12:08
ron coudn't play nothing compared to dokfas!! somebody said here he look like boccephus and i think so to. ron should have been in a country band like something called misty rednecks or something. derek just sucks his self and probally can't even play no guitar .

From: Brad Date: May 10, 2001 at 14:08
Ron was good yes but he wasn't a guitar god. I have also heard the other members of M/R held him back and that he had chances to join bigger bands like Grim Jack and Shok Paris but stayed with M/R because it was HIS band. He was well liked and respected by many big time music people and even James Hetfield thought Ron was a killer ryth/player when he heard the N/C tape. Take notice of Ron because he was a REAL musician.

From: Ron K Date: May 10, 2001 at 14:54
Ok, all is done now. I AM NOT A GUITAR GOD nor have I EVER CLAIMED TO BE. Playing with Tim D when he joined the band & Jim D when he did a show with us in Huntington, was the best times I ever had on stage. Buff and John are two of the valley's best. Wayne was, well let's just say you had to know Wayne like we did. Kevin was the best singer we had as far as talent and I have not talked to him in years, I hope he is still doing fine. If you would like to see a M/R one time show, tell John & Buff.

From: Ron K Date: May 10, 2001 at 15:02
Derek, please stop this, here and on the OBJ page. Lisa, I too am sorry you feel this way, but hey that's what makes us different. Brad, I don't know where you got your info, yes I started MR but it was just as much everybodys band as mine, we did things by votes. And I had the chance to go try out for Nazareth through John Iss' once but did not go. As far as Hetfeild, I have no idea where you got that from, but I must say it did make me smile, thanks be nice if it did happen though. Goodday

From: Derek Date: May 10, 2001 at 15:35
Ron man how come you say this stuff is not true when you told so many people years ago you went to NY when Grim Jack was making a new tape and played on it and they wanted you to join the band,,,? You told a bunch of us that they wanted you in the band and you guys were going to tour big places with Kiss or somebody. You said you got an offer to join Shok Paris too but didn't take it.

From: Doug Date: May 10, 2001 at 15:47
yeah M/R almost made the bigtimes and Ron had a chance to do lot's of things but stayed in the valley with his band and family. I heard that Hetfield heard there tape to and liked it a lot and I remember about Ron getting a chance to join Shok Paris to. Ron was cool and people who say Buff and John were the best in the band are not right at all.

From: Brad Date: May 10, 2001 at 16:10
Doug you are right about all that stuff and Ron and Wayne told us about the Hetfield thing after there tape came out. They got some connection through Grim Jack and did it that way. Buff and John were always jealous of Ron because he knew the right people in music and Tim Dofka was jealous too. Ron taught so many people to play guitar and they remember how cool it was to have a teacher like Ron because he can play anything and knows all there is to know about music and the music business.

From: Ron K Date: May 10, 2001 at 18:29
Derek, I will say that if you say I said that, then maybe I did, I do know Wayne did a lot of tall talking about things, but that was just wayne. As far as anobody being jealous, I knew nothing of that. If anything, I was the one that felt that way. I would have given anything to be able to play solos like Tim & Jim. Or have the look Buff & John did. I took the music very serious. I loved to teach guitar when I did. I loved the music business and everything about it. I played a few solos, and

From: Ron K Date: May 10, 2001 at 18:35
and spent most of my time, trying to be the best heavy metal rhythm guitar player I could be. As far as I know, Tim and Jim both never had a problem when we played. Nobody in that area wanted to play that, everybody wanted to be Jim. I knew I could not play that way, so I put my skills in the other. I think I did a good job, put together some great music and the Black Sabb' song we did, 11 mins long, was fun to arrange. It was fun and I hope to do it again with these guys just one more time.

From: Ron K Date: May 10, 2001 at 18:41
So please, understand, I LOVED playing music with those guys. I am putting out a CD of us Live from '92 with Buff, John, Tim D, Kevin and myself. I put one song on napster, but I can't get it to share all my song files, only picks certin ones at any given time. Put me on your napster hotlist 'Gunner2283' and with luck you may be able to get it from there. Again, people, please understand, this site is not MR, OBJ or GJ's treat it right. GJ is a great bunch of guys, they offered me chances I did

From: Ron K Date: May 10, 2001 at 18:46
I did not take. I wish now I would have done a few things with them. If you guys really know me then you know I did not bullshit anyone. I have wrote on here many times now what happened as it happened. Somethings I may have forgotten, but most of it is pretty close. I talked to everyone at the shows, thanked people for getting shirts, tapes, or coming to the shows. I just loved being there to play music for all of you. Thank you for letting me do that. Hope to see you all soon, now party on!

From: Phil Date: May 10, 2001 at 21:11
Ron having a chance to play with Nazareth? If thats true I will stick my head in the oven and turn it on,,,,,tell us another good one Ron.

From: Ron K Date: May 10, 2001 at 22:57
Phil, I said I had the CHANCE to go TRY OUT, did not say I got to play with them, need a match?

From: Phil Date: May 11, 2001 at 10:57
Having a chance to play with them is the same as trying out because you have to play WITH them to TRY out. Think about it Ron,,,I still don't buy it any way. That John Iss or Ass or whoever was a jerk anyhow and couldnt hook you up with a try out for bag boy at Krogers. Shok Paris neither-you may have seen them but thats it. Grimm Jack felt sorry for Misty Rox and thats the only reason you guys opened for them so much. If you really had a chance with Nazareth prove it-otherwise stop blowing.

From: Brad Date: May 11, 2001 at 11:51
Ron had lot's of chances to do stuff with Shok Paris-they wanted him real bad and even picked him over Jim Dofka but Ron said no. Grim Jack wanted him bad to and I bet he did have a chance to try out for Nazareth. Tell him the story Ron and shut this Phil dummy up once and for all time's.

From: Ron K Date: May 11, 2001 at 13:43
Ok Phil, YOU know SO MUCH. This is not the place for this, please respect this site as it is not ours and we are guest here. If you have a problem with me then fine, e-mail me at misty__rox@hotmail.com other than that shut the hell up till you know what you are talking about. As far as I know, I never got picked over Jim for anything, yes I had other chances, we all did. John, I believe was asked to drum for some band out of Pittsburgh, but we liked what we were doing together. End of story

From: Phil Date: May 11, 2001 at 14:17
Like I said,,,prove it. No proof--just crap. Words words and more words.

From: Gary Date: May 11, 2001 at 20:30
I have read all of this and I have to say MR was a great band. Live shows kicked ass. So the tape quality was not the best so what. The songs were good and the show was always fun to see. I got interviewed by their manager or somebody one on tape at one of their shows. Great bunch of guys, never a ego to deal with Misty. Phil you sound jealous, what have you done? Post a site to buy the new cd I keep hearing about. I will buy one.

From: Phil Date: May 12, 2001 at 9:42
Well for one thing I went to school and learned a a job and I'm good at it. I don't have to make up stories about having chances to pay with big name bands or tell people I have done more than I really have. I was there when somebody asked Buff about a Misty Rox reunion and he said he didn't want any part of it but Ron posted a note on the Grim Jack page saying Buff wanted to get the band back together. Ron is still making up stuff all this time later to make him self look good.

From: Rhonda Date: May 12, 2001 at 10:16
Hey I'm Wayne S.'s cousin and I know he'd be thrilled to see this stuff with his old band on it! Rox was a good band and I saw them a lot when Wayne sang and I saw them once with Kevin. Buff and John, Mike, Ron, Tim and Kevin were all cool and the band was good with or without Wayne. How come there is so many nasty things here? They were good and leave it at that

From: Miguel Date: May 12, 2001 at 10:54
I was curious to see if this band was the same Misty Roxx from Baja but I see it is not. Misty Roxx started in Baja in 1981 and produced 2 albums in 81 and 84. They were a good band who sounded much like Motley Crue. I used to see them in San Diego many times. Where is this band Misty Rox from? What 'valley' do you all refer to?

From: Ron K Date: May 12, 2001 at 11:16
Phil this is the last time I will waste my time writing to you. Our old manager Terry told me in a E-mail that he had either e-,mailed buff or got one from him, and in it Buff said something about a reunion show, that is all I know. If he did not, then oh well, that is what I was told I have not made up anything here, sorry asshole, All I can tell you is ask John Iss, but you already don't like him, and that is real Convenient isn't it? So say what you have to phil, derek, kered whoever you are.

I may have fixed my problem with Napster...I have no way of checking it at the moment; but if you'd like, run a search on 'Misty Rox' and see if I turn up. I'm keeping Napster on as often as I can so anyone who wants these files can get them.

From: lady Date: May 13, 2001 at 1:00
As far as the rest of this goes...I think you who are attacking here need to grow up--my six-year-old acts more mature than some here. You are arguing about MUSIC...some like it, some don't, so what? I agree with Ron...we are guests here and should treat the board itself with respect, not to mention other people, no matter who they are. Let me ask you who are starting the crap here...is arguing about some CD REALLY that important to you? Some like it, some don't, that's life. Get over it.

With people like Phil the webmaster may jump in here again, and take away from everyone this page and the OBJ page. People I am sorry you have to see this childish play here. Phil has not yet e-mailed me liked I asked. He wants to SHOW off his stupid acts and thinking in front of all. Ignore him please.thanks

From: lady Date: May 14, 2001 at 12:46
I have gotten napster to share some of my files; however, I have no way of checking them right now to know what they are. All I can say is to either keep typing in 'Misty Rox' in the search feature, or add me to your hotlist (my napster username is ^ladyk^) and maybe you can catch them there. I'll do whatever I can to make sure you get those songs.

Alex, there is a cover of Mr.Crowley by Misty on napster. Search artist Misty Rox. Not many have it yet but a few do, so you may have to keep checking napster for a few days. Tim and I are on the guitars on there with the main solo from Tim. If you find it you can download it.

Let me explain, the recording sound of the song Mr.Crowley, is not how the cd will sound. I just taped that from a jam box with one mic'. I only did that so I could get something out there now, more or less as a sample. The final cd will sound much better. Thank you... Ron

From: Ron K Date: May 29, 2001 at 16:41
Marilyn, No M/R is not still on a record label. This is something that I will fund out of my own pocket. The cd's will sell for only the cost to make them, no profit at all. It is just a way to say, "thanks everyone for the years we spent with you, and it was a blast". No we are not still playing, although I have had contact with a few members and a reunion show can happen, just will be a little while as all of us have things going on right now. I will post when and also when the cd is released.

Tim Dofka is the best guitar player that I have ever heard. Tim and his brother Jim were both good guitar players but I saw them at the down under and Tim was the best guitar player that i have ever seen in my life. Jim is not good enough to hold Tim's dick.

From: Lisa Date: June 5, 2001 at 16:37

From: Ron K Date: June 6, 2001 at 13:30
To Lisa, all I can say is " You would have to know Tim" and Vic, that is something that may also come to be, but it would need a total remix job and things, so it is not going to happen in the very near future, the live one is coming first. And it will be here soon

From: Ron K Date: June 7, 2001 at 0:09
No I am not saying that at all. I am saying Tim is just a different person that is all. If he does not want to play, then you will not get him to do it. Alex, don't worry about it, just enjoy every day you get to spend with your dad. He is a good guy, trust me, I know him well... You don't have anything to explain to anybody. Vic, I may get John and Buff to sell some at the Old Buddy Jack shows if they will. But most will be from mail order, from a web page.

Saw these guys a few times. Each time better than the last. I would be interested in a live cd or a show if it could happen. Thanks MR you guys were right there, needed just a little push to get you over the top! But hey memories are great

From: Date: July 4, 2001 at 13:05
they needed more than a little push to get them over the top.

From: Doug E Date: July 4, 2001 at 19:17
I really liked the last lineup of guys. That is the band that sounded the best. It would have been great to have them stick together longer. I would have loved for that to happen

From: Gus Date: July 5, 2001 at 16:43
When and where is this reunion thing?

From: kim Date: July 9, 2001 at 9:18
everybody keeps saying stuff here about some new cd and reunion shows. is it real or just bs? is nursery crymes going to be put out on cd and when is the new stuff mentioned here going to be out. would be nice if somebody would post something definite here instead of all the crap about insults and junk. i like misty rox so if anybody from the band really posts stuff here then how about answering my post. i see other people have left questions here with no answer too so whats up anyway?

From: Ron K Date: July 10, 2001 at 19:39
Please send any questions you have to misty__rox@hotmail.com I will answer as I can. There is not a date yet for the cd as it is not done as of yet. Stuff will get posted as it comes around. I will reply to all e-mails... It just may take me a few days to do it. Thanks Ron

From: Date: July 18, 2001 at 17:27
Everything is b.s. those guys said there will never be a reunion. period.

From: Gary Date: July 25, 2001 at 15:40
Not what I heard, there will be at some point

From: Date: July 26, 2001 at 16:05
It is true, if you dont believe me, e-mail John at oldbuddyja@aol.com and ask him, after he laughs, he will tell you never. Just e-mail him and ask for yourself.

From: Greg Date: July 26, 2001 at 19:24
who would want a rox reunion anyway? OBJ is much better than MR ever was and buff and john kick ass now. MR is gone-it's the past.

From: Chappy Date: July 27, 2001 at 7:09
than you, my point exactly!

From: Hank Date: July 28, 2001 at 13:55
i think they was a good band and i would like to see them again. you people who put them down are just jelous because you dont have no talent

From: Alex Date: July 28, 2001 at 23:12
I dunno greg alot of them guys had plenty of talent and who is OBJ

From: Date: August 2, 2001 at 11:59
no reunion no new cd no nothing. it is all bs.

From: Ron K Date: August 2, 2001 at 13:20
Funny how I have everything here even mail from John and Buff... The show at some point will happen, we are all doing different things these days so it is harder to get together. CD< sorry but yes their is one in the making, I have the tape copy of it here now, so untill you know what you are talking about, please shut up. Again, anyone can e-mail me at misty__rox@hotmail.com Thanks

From: Date: August 4, 2001 at 17:48
sure it will happen--just like all that other stuff like ron playing with nazerath and all that. its all BS!

From: Derek Date: August 5, 2001 at 8:45
Wow someone sounds jealous

From: Date: August 5, 2001 at 12:58
if there is some new cd and reunion why dont buff and john say it is true instead of saying they dont want to do it. why dont anybody but ron leave word here and say they want to do a new cd and reunion? so far nobody but ron says its true

From: Derek Date: August 5, 2001 at 17:54
You need to stop worring about it. I have e-mail ron at the addy above and he has forwarded the mail from john saying he would do it. I also downloaded a few songs from napster before they stopped a while back. One is with tim playing lead it is said at the end. If you just want to stir shit then talk to yourself

From: Derek Date: August 6, 2001 at 11:13
Ron is the coolest guy ever. Dont forget it.

From: John Date: August 8, 2001 at 18:42
sorry guys, no forseeable reunion.

From: Date: August 9, 2001 at 17:19
John who? are you the drummer for the band?

From: millie Date: August 11, 2001 at 20:07
good band with cool guys. ron kalujer is the coolest.

From: millie Date: August 12, 2001 at 14:40
Ron is my lover!!!

From: rod fisher Date: August 17, 2001 at 7:39
got this tape recently at a used shop in p-burgh and the songs are good stuff. the production is bad and the guitars are off key a lot but i have heard much worse. good score on song quality but low score on sound quality. does this band have a website now?

From: Date: August 17, 2001 at 17:34
Misty Rox WAS a great band in their day. However, that was 11 years ago. Quit living in the past and move on with your life! There's nothing sadder than middle aged men trying to be rock stars.

From: Brad Date: August 18, 2001 at 21:39
MR could still kick ass when they get back together. Ron says they are going to do shows and new CD and he's totally cool so believe him.

From: Date: August 19, 2001 at 15:34
Misty Rox is NOT getting back together, ever! MOST of those guys have moved on with their lives. I say MOST, because it seems that one of then who posts on here frequently has a thing about living in the past. Move on.......

From: joey Date: August 23, 2001 at 19:51
wonder who it is that posts here who has a problem? sure can't be ron because he is freaking cool. ron rules.

From: Derek Date: August 26, 2001 at 6:39
Whoever is afraid to POST their name when they post this UNTRUE crap, needs to get a life. No name no credit in what they say. Ron says to you all that he has e-mails, I have e-mailed him before to make sure if it was true. He forwarded me one from the drummer John, who SAID he would do a one time show. I asked if all of the people here have e-mailed his M/R mail and he said only a few and NOT the trouble makers. SHows me they know they are wrong and he can prove it.

From: Derek Date: August 26, 2001 at 18:21
I love Misty Rox. They are cool. Those guys had more talent than Guns N Roses and all the other bands in the valley have been jealous of the talent M/R had for years. No other guitar player can compare to Ron and John is the best drummer in the world. Only losers would put down M/R

From: no name Date: August 28, 2001 at 14:29
I didn't and won't post my name because I'm a close personal friend to One of Misty Rox. The reunion would be impossible do to everyone living in different parts of Ohio. Why would they want to embarrass themselves doing a reunion now? They could never top what they were, which was excellent. It would be sad. Let's remember them as they were and get on with it.

From: Derek Date: August 28, 2001 at 17:29
Why should I leave my name, when i can use Derek's. His name is probably made up any way. So bite me, I am queer.

From: Me Date: August 30, 2001 at 11:04
It would be nice if buff or john would post word's here and let ppl know if there is really a reunion or new cd happening. Ron is the only one who ever posts here and if somebody else from M/R would post maybe we can know for sure. It's all just gossip until it happens

From: Ron Date: August 31, 2001 at 20:28
the band would have left their e-mail addresses. i'll talk to ya soon. tell the family i said hey. and if you ever come back this way, and a reunion show sounds ok with me dude. Have to get some thing set, keep me posted. john

From: Phil Date: September 2, 2001 at 12:52
so Ron posted an email john novak sent him way back in april. that doesn't mean a reunion will happen. Give it up, grow up, and go on with life. If Ron wants to play music again, let him join a country band because he looks like boceephus.

From: Kevin C Date: September 2, 2001 at 13:55
I saw Rons band in Dayton at a outdoor show with some other bands I think in July. Their name is "Cruser" and that they did. They did do one Misty song, "P' to war" and they redid it so it is so much more heavy than the Misty recording. They are not out to get signed, just a show now and then, that is all. I talked to him about this site.

From: Derek Date: September 2, 2001 at 14:01
No this is NOT a made up name BTW. and with Ron posting these letters from John, discredits about 50% of the crap from the other posters on here. I never read anywhere that he/they want to get together to STAY a band, just "1" show and for the people that liked them. That is all, so Phil you need to grow up. One show is NOT trying to be rock stars again, damn son, read!

From: Kevin C Date: September 2, 2001 at 14:04
Also Phil, Ron now looks like Howie long, not Hank, sorry bud

Kevin C. you must have rose colored glasses! (or you're blind)

From: Kevin C Date: September 2, 2001 at 22:53
Sorry I am not / do not. I went to talk to him after the show about this site and all the stuff that is going on here. They did (all but Buff) agree to do "a" show. Don't know when they all have to get together on that, if it is later, Buff will do it. And I SAW the cover for the Live CD, the artwork for it. Ron is paying for that whole project alone, so it will take awhile. And "Crusher" sorry I forgot the H last time, was great. No long hair, just heavy music that is all, real heavy!

From: Kevin C Date: September 3, 2001 at 7:08
I should say that the entire band Crusher is in their mid 30's all with familys and jobs. They are not looking to do anything but play 4 or 5 shows a year that is it. They are just a bunch of guys from what I was told by them that met at the gym and lift together. They have a love for metal and todays music sucks. So they got together and just jam and have a blast. And they really do ROCK. No tape for sale no shirts, just pure heavy metal loud and fast. And very good! Even the Misty song kicked!

From: no name Date: September 3, 2001 at 18:15
Kevin needs to quit living in a fantasy world............ or maybe he likes the institution..........

From: Kevin C Date: September 5, 2001 at 18:56
Hey no nmae, no brain, I was there, I don't recall you being there. If you hate M/R or Ron or John or Buff or any of the others, why do you keep coming back here? Some of us liked them, you must also but are afraid to admit it. So most of them have moved on to do whatever, big deal, if they want to do one show that is great, nobody is breaking your arm to go see them. Move and an move out. There are 950 someother bands here to go pick on, find one.

From: Phil Date: September 6, 2001 at 20:38
I emailed that John Iss guy who ron said owned the record company that misty rox was with 2 times and the guy never got back to me. he is probably ashamed to admit to knowing misty rox.

From: Ron K Date: September 7, 2001 at 14:14
Sorry Phil, John did get your e-mail and I talked to him, he does not care about you are your childish fetish with Misty to even waste his time with you. Ask Maddog or anybody about John Iss and x-2000, don't take my word on it, take everybody else's word. I LOVE the fact that you LOVE Misty so much you come here and post and spend time trying to find things out! Thanks man, I may send you a CD...

From: no name Date: September 7, 2001 at 20:26
Kevin, if you scroll up a few posts, you'd see that I'm a personal friend of one of Misty Rox. That's how I know what you are saying is fantasy.

From: Ron K Date: September 8, 2001 at 10:34
Hey No name, Tell me who you are a friend with... I would like to know write me at misty__rox@hotmail.com if you don't have the balls to do it here. Yes I have a band "Crusher" we do not care to impress anyone but us. Yes we all work out at Moores Weight centers, yes I have a flat top hair cut. Yes I did talk to Kevin at that show. He likes Crusher, and likes Misty. So what? You were not in the band, and some old memebers of M/R are pissed at us for some reasons. So watch what you here.

From: Ron K Date: September 8, 2001 at 10:39
I really don't care if you or Phil liked us. Fact is some people did, I find it funny how you and Phil always KNOW the truth when neither of you were there in that band. I was from start to finish. If you must impress whoever on this board go right ahead. A lot of people are laughing at you two, I have the e-mails telling me that. A rule of mine as far as boards go, no name no respect, if you can't back up your claims and do not even want to post your name, then what you say is a lie... goodbye

From: marilyn Date: September 14, 2001 at 0:33
is the misty rox web site working now? do they have a site on the innernet of there own now and if they do will someone please put the info here for us.

From: Kevin C Date: September 14, 2001 at 16:14
I got an email from Ron. Send him your picture at the m/rhotmail addy above and he is going to put everyones picture on the M/R website. It is still being worked on but he said when it is done it would be were you can download songs and 1 min video clips and a fan picture page.

From: Mark Date: September 17, 2001 at 18:57
send in pictures? who'd want their picture on a MR site anyway? I liked the band ok, but I wouldn't want my pic on their site. I checked out Fastbrake-another band on this record label and they kick butt. It would be cool if MR does a reunion to have them open for Fastbrake.

From: greg Date: September 27, 2001 at 18:14
does ron or someone know how to get info about fastbrake band that people talk about here?

From: Brad Date: September 28, 2001 at 15:05
if you want info about fastbrake write to ron's buddy john iss. his email is posted on here above someplace. i wrote him myself about misty rox and he said ron wanted him to remix some stuff and he was going to but ron never got back to him so its maybe true they will put out a new misty rox cd.

From: Michael Lynx Date: September 29, 2002 at 2:41
Damn I remember this band back from the early 90's....they did have a good live show, as for the tape not bad for the tunes, the recording of it was not that great....i miss the days when weeling rocked....there was always a venue to play at one day and it seemed the next there was hardly any.....i miss the old down under and swing club always had good times playing them clubs....if you like hard rock watch for Crimson Messiah (that is my new band out of Parkersburg,Wv) and it has been a bitch f

From: mitch Date: January 16, 2003 at 21:32
who the hell is this band anyway? never freakin heard of them.

From: Cindy Date: January 6, 2004 at 15:21
Cool band=really great guys. The songs are good but the mix sounds cheap. Still good work all around. Saw them live and they were better live than on tape.

From: Strutter66 Date: May 15, 2004 at 2:04
They were definitely a fun bar band.(Ohio Valley's Poison!) Can't go by the tape, you would of had to see & heard them live!! Lots of good memories.I liked "Broken Hearts" & "Lunch Box". Music was fun then! Wheeling(and the "Ohio Valley") rocked. Hope all is well with each of the guys! It's amazing what you can stumble across here on the web! I'm glad I saw this site. It brought a smile to my face.

From: David Date: May 24, 2004 at 2:38
Who do these guys sound like?

From: juan carlos Date: October 5, 2010 at 18:24
There are so many comments here & no rating? I've seen all the comments above, some interesting and others boring, Btw Good Metal/Hardrock album, decent production, cool speedy riffs. The semi-acoustic ballad "Broken Hearts/Broken Roads" is my favorite track. "All the Kings Men" starts with a cool riff àla "Four Horsemen"(Metallica) 7.8/10

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: October 11, 2010 at 0:39
no rating??? right only 1 rating, my rating! ha!
