what a classic album, was tough to find then the UK reissue came out, get this cd if you haven't heard it, if you have heard it then you probably already have it. great choice!

From: TIM Date: March 18, 2003 at 15:51
I really liked the Dennis DeYoung type vocals and the songs are good but somehow it is not among my favorite aor bands. It's very good but there are better bands that cost less in my opinion. No offence.

From: Gar Date: March 18, 2003 at 19:00
"Send Down an Angel" is an incredible song. The rest of the album doesn't quite measure up to that gem, but there are plenty of bright moments along the way.

From: Desslar Date: March 18, 2003 at 23:44
Awful. Like a second-rate Bon Jovi knock-off but even softer still, if you can imagine.

From: koogles Date: March 20, 2003 at 3:19
Fantastic release that stands shoulder-to-shoulder with such classics as Lionheart's "Hot Tonight" and Orion the Hunter's lone 1984 effort. Max Bacon's finest hour and an excellent vehicle for his high-reaching vocals. The brillance of "Send Down an Angel" has only been echoed a few times since this release... notably by bands like Shy, TNT, Masquerade and Steelheart. Don't pass through the ass with the Metalmania pressing... go for the cheaper and more recent Sanctuary issue.

From: koogles Date: March 20, 2003 at 3:20
Umm.. I meant to say PAY through the ass.

From: TIM Date: March 20, 2003 at 4:34
Ha Ha Ha. A whole lot of difference there koogles- lol.

Max Bacon is as excellent as ever and 'Send Down An Angel' is definately the best song on show. The cover of 'Don't Ever Wanna Lose Ya' is very weak compared to the original, along with a few of the other tunes. Not my favourite cd of the era and compared to some of the other releases that year (84) ( Autograph, Bon-Jovi, White Sister, Survivor, Toto, Giuffria etc) this was strictly 2nd division stuff.

SEND DOWN AN ANGEL was a great song, but the one I like the most is TAKEN BY STORM

From: Kim Date: November 21, 2003 at 21:08
found this on LP today...sounds awesome at first listen. now i only have to find the cd..

From: dannyrock Date: February 1, 2004 at 13:22
max bacon must knowing on (gtr) album if you like great highly pompaor rock music this is for you.thanks.

From: Rycheage Date: February 8, 2004 at 18:47
Of the songs, album opener 'Send Down An Angel' is a nice piece of pomp, with strutting piano lines and keyboard layers a la Grand Prix. This vein is continued with 'The Cold Truth' sounding like very late seventies US AOR. The title track 'Taken By Storm' isn't half bad either, while the New England cover 'Don't Ever Wanna Lose Ya' is no match for the original, but is still a credible attempt nonetheless.

OOOHH,Wow!!!!!!!!! I have been looking for this LP for two years now, This is definitely worth owning! Very well produced and very original sound, there is no mistaking this BRONZ's sound. Has been my favorite band since the early 80's. I am happy to know there is a reissue of TAKEN BY STORM, I've gotta tell my brother about this!!!

From: Rockhead Date: March 27, 2004 at 6:09
I don't know what all the fuss is over this cd. It is quite good and Max Bacon has a great voice, but comparing it to Orion? I dont hear that.

From: pedro Date: March 29, 2004 at 20:15
Solo por escuchar al tema send down an angel y la increible voz de max bacon merece la pena

From: Rock Freak Date: April 21, 2004 at 10:07
Taken by storm and Stranded are the best tracks off this gem of a record. Any real 80's rock fan won't hesitate to buy this album. A long awaited album from a brilliant, unique rock band. Can't wait to see them back on tour.

From: Dennis Date: April 30, 2004 at 16:42
I really like the song "Send down an angel", but I don´t really like the other songs. But the vocals of Max Bacon compensate everything, great singer.

From: Alejandro Date: July 5, 2004 at 14:08

From: Kip Date: August 29, 2004 at 1:39
Wow, no mention of the awesome infectious 'Harder Than Diamond'? Yes Send Down An Angel is the best song. Harder Than Diamon is right behind it. The Cold Truth is great and so is Taken By Storm. Overall the album is a bit uneven, but there are some real gems here. Worth buying now there's a reissue. 6/10

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: March 4, 2006 at 8:07
Hard Rock/AOR, buen album 7/10.

From: VIPER Date: August 7, 2006 at 12:53
GOOD BRITISH ROCK FOR IT,S YEAR.MAX,S VOCALS SUPERB, AS USUAL.HE SHOULD HAVE SUNG ON ALL THE TRACKS THO. {CANT GET MY HEAD ROUND THAT ONE} WHO SANG ON OTHERS WAS IT WEBBY? {CRAP.} SOUNDED LIKE TWO DIFFERENT BANDS. NO WONDER MAX MOVED ON TO BETTER THINGS. BUT STILL NOT ENOUGH RECOGNITION. TO MANY EGOS USING HIM HEY?? ROCK N ROLL..

From: Figge Date: October 25, 2006 at 15:46
Of course, "Send Down An Angel" is marvelous....but there are a few more diamonds on this album. Not the best of the genre but you can't deny the quality of the songwriting and the voice of Max Bacon. I agree with poster Kip, "Harder Than Diamond" are one of the best tracks on the disc/LP, along with "Cold Truth" and "Night Runner".

From: shoemaker Date: October 4, 2007 at 11:36
Figge hit it!

From: juan carlos Date: November 4, 2007 at 19:48

From: rick kerch vzla Date: April 28, 2013 at 18:20
AOR with some Pomp Rock here and there...tracks 1,3,5,6, & 8 are the ones that i liked the most...the rest has been said in some comments above,so,my rate...75/100

From: maulars Date: May 11, 2014 at 11:38
Definitely one of my fave AOR, melodic rock albums of all time. Every time I give this a spin, it brings back a bunch of good memories. I love Max Bacon's voice. I also am big fan of GTR.

From: hair metal again Date: October 23, 2018 at 5:08
excellent debut for BRONZ back in 84 ,a band that tried to walk in the DEF LEPPARD s path ,but didnt hit the spot!very good production ,fine musicianship and remarkable songwriting ability ,but unfortunately the artwork isnt apropriate and those things mattered to the fans back then!"night runner","the cold truth",'send down an angel"and "sweet lady" are excellent songs indeed!highly recommended for every hard rocker
